  1. I bet the Falcon's fan forum is abusing the CB & safety right about now.
  2. I would not blame the safety on that one. CB on the other hand!?
  3. I see no evidence our d will do anything different from previous, plus Matt Ryan is a good QB. Us 29 Falcons 34
  4. First thing- What a game?! Really enjoyed it. The win makes it soooo much better. For some reason the Giants shooting themselves in the foot makes it better. 🙂 I try not to make too many judgments after only 2 games. However, I have to say, it’s not looking good. Heinicke won’t make the HoF but frankly he gets it done. The o’line looked like it improved over the game, which is good. TM was TM (Thank God). Brown showed a little something so hopefully he can contribute more down the line. I would like us to run the ball a bit more. Now the defense. Front 4: They seemed happy to stay in their respective lanes. No idea if it was instructions from the DC but it really looked very uninspired. Very hot and cold. Way more cold. LB: It’s going to be a long season. CB: I was not that disappointed with the CBs, mainly due to low expectation. I have no idea if they are told to give such large cushions or they have a choice. That just allowed easy completions too often. At least the tackling improved. SS/FS: I did not pay much attention, so cannot comment. If last week’s performance against the Chargers was worrying, the fact the defense could not shred this current Giants o-line is really bad and does not bode well with better teams down the line. Bills, Saints, Packers, Bucs. I won’t worry about the Chiefs. Short of kidnapping all their OTs 2 hours before the game it won’t make any difference what we do.
  5. WFT 19 Giants 17 I have to factor in it’s a ‘Prime time’ game. I have to take 3 points off us and give 7 to the Giants. Giants 24 WFT 16 I want to be wrong on the scores, but we really have to win this game. If we lose, I want to see at least something from the defense. Improved tackling in particular.
  6. Fitz landed funny. It does not look good.
  7. 9-8 Our O will be a bit better, but not as much as people on this board hoped before preseason. Our D will be about the same as last year. Just after the draft I thought there would be a 3-way fight at the top of NFC East. I actually thought the Giants would surprise a few people and win the div….just. With Dak’s issues and NY Giants O line looking bad (according to some), we might actually win the thing. Bold prediction: Sweat wins DPOY.
  8. Wish him the best. He was given plenty of time to prove himself and then some. Had to go.
  9. Agree. Although I thnk Gruden is the man running the show.
  10. We may have been a bit too Hollywood, but 1983 Redskins more Hollywood than the Los Angeles Raiders? That is a tough one to sell. We were superior in coaching and consistency. The Raiders could blow hot and cold, but the ability was there. I also think the match ups just favoured them. Our legendary O-line and Riggins needs no hard sell, however, you see the other side with Howie Long, Lyle ‘I am on the juice’ Alzado (RIP), Matt Millen, Ted Hendricks (slow, crazy, but knew his football). The key really was the two CB for the Raiders who were just excellent late on in that season. Getting beaten is one thing, getting humiliated really should not have happened. I only recovered from that result a few years ago.
  11. Count me as one of those people who would be upset if TH was the odd man out. If we did bring in another QB I really doubt if RR would get rid of Allen. I am not an Allen fan. I don’t dislike him; just think he is meh!
  12. The thing about TH is the footballing brain. He did a lot of impressive things last night, but the thing I really liked was on a play that went wrong. He dropped back to pass and JPP batted the ball in the air. It looked like TH was going to catch the ball and try and run with it. Not an outrageous thing to do. I would have done it and I am pretty sure a number of good NFL quarterbacks would have tried the same. He just knocked it down. Simple, but excellent football awareness. Just seen Tannehill do what I would have done - he lost 10 yards! I think the job is his. If he stays and gets the no.1 spot, the next step for him is to deal with expectation and stepping up to the next level when the opposition have some film on him.
  13. So far, I am still happy we did not draft Tua. With his injury history, I just don't believe he can play a full season.
  14. I would agree and so far I am reasonably content with his contribution. I just hope behind the scenes there is an ex-player or coach who can teach him the technical side of pass rushing. Teach him the variety of moves that would make him elite a year or two down the line.
  15. It is very tempting to agree with you. It really is. Not sure I would say I hope we don't draft him or he goes elsewhere. I also fear what this organization would do to Lawrence if they got hold of him. I see so many players who have talent get well and truly stuffed by landing in the wrong place. Wrong system, bad players/coaches, been thrown in too early etc. It’s bad for the team and bad for the player. You have to ask yourself, if you had a son with top QB talent, would you recommend he come here? Having said all that- IF he came here, I would be excited to see if he could help drag us out of this 25+ years sporting nightmare. I would just hope they bring in as much OL talent as possible and sit him for most of year 1.
  16. The Giants have sunk to a new low. When I am rooting for Daniel Jones to complete a stunning 80+ yard TD run and feel sorry for him when he falls over when no Eagle is going to catch him. As a WFT fan, I have no right to feel pity for him and his team, but I did. How has the NFC East fallen so low?
  17. The age old, what are the key things a QB should have. I would like everything. However, I agree I would happily sacrifice arm strength if the other attributes are there. The main thing is whatever his weaknesses are, they are not so bad as to be disaster in the NFL. As a starting point, I would take accuracy, decision making, and some touch on whatever deep ball he can manage. It might help that whatever OL he has is adequate and the OC/HC works to his strengths (especially in year 1). Anyone in 2021 draft have my starting points?
