  1. Ah **** it I went WFT in the survival pool. Go big or go home! (only $10 pool lol)
  2. Someone either talk me into or out of picking WFT in my survival pool. I have like 10 minutes to decide lol.
  3. Yeah and we have lost the last FIVE IN A ROW. We are historically awful as well.
  4. I am so on the fence about taking WFT in my survival pool this week...
  5. It's been ages since I played BOTW, but couldn't you stop just by pressing down though? I don't recall having to press a button to slow down. Also in Ghost of Tsushima you pressed down to slow the horse down and I'm pretty sure you just held down the left analog stick to make the horse run (just like you held down to make yourself run). I'm fine with having to hold down a button to run, as long as it's the same button that you hold down to run when you're not on the horse. But it's not the case in this and just feels clunky and very unintuitive. Did not play RDR2 so can't comment on that one.
  6. Yeah the progression is kind of weird and not really like any other game I've played. It starts out fairly open and then like 4-5 hours in it gets super linear to get the story going, and then goes back to being much more open once you get past that part. This 3rd time I have tried it though, I did not start over from the beginning, I just started where I left off. I kind of remember what happened prior since I did it twice but not in detail. Last time I played was the week before TLOU2 came out. I will say the 60fps on PS5 makes a HUGE difference to me.
  7. This is my 3rd attempt at it. It just takes like 4-5 hours to 'get going' imo. Prior I had stopped about 3 hours both times.
  8. I'm still enjoying HZD but damn, the controls in the game are just wonky to me. I think it's just because there is so much **** to control and change and only so many buttons on the controller. I keep pressing RT to change weapons instead of LT and I do the low ass spear attack. I'm having a hard time forcing myself to press the right button out of habit. I also do not like how the horse riding controls. I just want to press UP to ****ing run faster. I don't want to have to keep mashing X, and I want to press DOWN to slow down, not press circle. This is another thing that I just can't get used to, at least not yet. Horse riding has been so much done over and over and so much more intuitive than the way it's done in HZD. BOTW does it much better as does Tsushima, but I know Tsushima is newer. Then you have all these other items you can adjust with the d-pad and press down to use it. Then you have all these types of "sub quests" in the long list of menus. And there are all these icons for the enemies you around and I don't even know what they mean. Then when you are doing focus over people there is all this other info that pops up like weaknesses and these small icons. Just so much information and it's almost like overloaded with too much. Hopefully I just get used to it and it just clicks and is instinctual at some point.
  9. Yeah but it's all political and a lot of those areas don't care there is a pandemic and think it's a hoax. Places like Raiders stadium required vaccine proof to go to the game. Hell my mom has season tickets to the Steelers and lives in Silver Spring, and her and my stepdad are not sure if they want to drive up to the game this weekend or not because they are a bit nervous. They are also both fully vaccinated. Montgomery County is one of the best in the country as far as vaccination rates go, but we also know it's real and there is actually a pandemic going on. I'm not saying it's the ONLY reason but I think it plays a part.
  10. You all also have to realize we're still in the middle of a pandemic and the DMV is very precautionary when it comes to all the mandates/risks/etc. I definitely believe that is playing into it a bit.
  11. Okay I think I'm officially all in on HZD now. The game just takes quite a while to pickup and it has grabbed my interest. Last night I played for like 2 hours and was marked as the Seeker. I then pressed start and saw how huge the map was and how little I've opened up. Holy ****!
  12. Well on the flipside, they also had 16 points in 3.5 quarters on the offensive side of the ball, and they had gotten like 25% third down. I doubt he had much confidence in his offense being able to pick up 7 yards on 4th down. And who knows if we would have gotten the penalty on 4th down if they were not in punt formation. I'm confident they WOULD have, making it 4th and 12 regardless.
  13. I will take the professional football coaches opinions over the arm chair quarterback experts on the internet that think they know more than the guys who have been doing it professionally their entire careers. In the moment, the decision to punt was fine. And the D had the Chargers in a 3rd and 16 right after the punt. Sure in hindsight, since we lost, it was the "wrong call" but the reasoning and logic behind it, coming straight from Rivera's mouth, makes total sense. If we stopped them on 3rd and 16 and they punted, and we get the ball back and win, I'm positive you wouldn't be talking about the decision making on that play. But of course, since they lost, it's a terrible decision.
  14. So he bow and arrow celebration is no longer banned in the NFL?
  15. Last game I went to was pre-RG3, so it's been a decade now for me. And with the direction the team is going I doubt it will change any time soon. I now have a 10 foot screen in my basement and host games here. It's much more fun here than at the stadium to watch them lose.
  16. It wasn't that full because there aren't that many Chargers fans around here. If the opener was agains the Cowboys, 100% that stadium would have been WWWAAAAYYYY fuller. The number of WFT fans probably wouldn't have changed much if at all, but the number of opposing fans would have been much higher.
  17. So I popped in HZD last night again. First time I tried playing it was like 3 or so years ago and I got bored after like 3 hours and stopped. Then I tried to play it again like right before TLOU2 came out and got about 3 hours into it and wasn't sucked in again, then TLOU2 came out and I never went back. Put it in my PS5 yesterday and after like 25 minutes of copying I started it up and damn in 60fps it looks WWWWAAAAYYYY better. Played from where I left off before and I'm starting to get pretty sucked into it so I think I'm actually going to get through it. Seeing HZD2 videos makes me wanna play it also.
  18. Not saying they aren't beatable, but they have 4 turnovers (to 1) and are up by 2 points.
  19. HOOOOLY ****! Dude should have taken a knee in the endzone but cowboys gonna cowboys!
  20. Wow that throw was ****ing PERFECT. Tom Brady is ****ing UNREAL.
  21. It's a remake. It's the same game as the original one. Aside from God of War, the only other game I thought looked like it may be a must buy is that Forspoken game. Looked pretty damn cool. I also thought that Tchia game could be pretty neat.
  22. I was VERY close to dropping out of college after my freshman year. Highschool for me was easy as ****. I got by doing so little work and not having to study much and had like a 4.0 and AP'd out of Calc1. But my first year in college, I tried to get by doing such little work and it nearly made me drop out. My second semester I earned 6 credits total, failing my one major comp sci course. I had like a 1.8 gpa after my first year. Then that summer I decided that I was going to buckle down and didn't want to disappoint my parents and stuck with it. And glad I did because I am 100% positive that I would be nowhere near where I am career/money wise had I dropped out.
  23. Whatever terminal I flew out of at Dulles the past 2 times was to Grand Cayman and the same one to St. Thomas, and it sucked assholes. And don't even get me started about arriving. Takes like 45-60 minutes to get your **** and be outside. Then this past time I was waiting to be picked up and the security outside or whatever wasn't doing jack **** to move cars along that were sitting there waiting for people, even though it was clearly marked you can only stop when picking up people. It was a complete cluster ****. Next time I go to St. Thomas though it will be out of there since I'll be paying $15 for 3 direct flights round trip on United.
  24. RE: Video games... Totally anecdotal, but I played A LOT of video games growing up. My brother and sister always made fun of me for doing so. Then I got into piracy in the mid/late 90's and modded my Playstation and started to get games for free, trading them in the snail mail. At one point I had over 1300 Playstation games. I played in the arcades all the time too. Every Saturday I wanted to go to Putt Putt in Rockville to play arcades. I'd go to arcades in the mall. My dad lived on the Eastern shore and there was a family run arcade and I became super friendly with them and they would let me play for free. But doing all of this gaming is what led me to my field - Computer Science. I wanted to make video games because I liked playing them so much. Then all through college, gaming all the time both online on PC and Xbox Live, and taking a game development course in my upper level, I realized that making games wasn't exactly what I wanted to do. It was just different than I expected, and I found out how competitive it is in that field and the pay wasn't much. Needless to say, I graduated after 5 years in 2004, and now a days I make WWWWAAAAYYYYY more money than my siblings who also have college degrees. One of them doesn't use his degree at all, and my sister does but just doesn't make nearly as much as I do, since my field just pays more. My whole point of this anecdotal story is that gaming a lot can lead to good things. And hell I still game a ton and have every new console on launch date. And I also own arcade games lol.
