They touched on Layman and at least one of the guys seems to think it's 50/50-ish on him declaring. They mentioned that maybe he is worried he may tale a lesser role with the talent coming in, and maybe giving scouts another year to see him "not step up". Just opinions and speculation though. Then they talked about potential guys to fill Layman's place, if that happens, including a couple of potential transfers including Damion Lee or Rasheed Sulaimon. Wait, what? These guys are potentially coming in regardless of Layman's decision, but they think the most likely replacement would be a grad transfer, if I heard correctly. I guess you're right pj. He is kind of what he is. I don't see him bulking up tremendously in the offseason. Maybe he could gain more consistency all around. I guess if he goes, he'll be a developmental guy and hope to get playing time way down the road. Maybe being in the system sooner gets him there quicker. I can't imagine him in an actual live NBA game anytime soon, but I'm no expert. Interesting take KH. You're the first person I've seen saying that they hope he leaves. Maybe Layman considering the draft is more serious than was expected. Seems like he could be a low first/early second rounder. I wonder if he thinks he'll take more of a backseat next year and hurt his draft stock, if he stays. Maybe he thinks this could be his best opportunity. Personally, I think I'd want to stay and take a shot with what could be a real contender next year. That's what I thought at first too, but then reading some reactions (other than Maryland fans) nobody seemed to think it was odd. I hope they give em a run for their money. Maybe even slay the giant. That would be another incredible feat for Maryland all around in the first year in the Big 10. I think I also read the ladies are the first team from the Big 10 in the final four since 2005.

Slow Monday morning at work so I checked it out. Put me back to sleep, and that celebrity judge thing was indeed terrible.

So, anyone finding it hard figuring out who to root for at this point? New conference rival Wisconsin, juggernaut Kentucky, or Michigan State. State or Wisconsin for me. Leaning State just because I respect the hell out of Tom Izzo. B1G baby.

I wasn't really surprised by the strong reaction, especially in this thread. I was mostly just trying to help tone it down a bit and avoid any appearance of name calling, I thought it may have been about to get ugly, and didn't want to see any Woody Allen Sleeper avis up in here banning people. That's all. Probably not my place though. I'm with you 100% on Williams. Who knows what the story of Maryland basketball, and Gary Williams, would be had he not stayed.
