  1. I know Holmes was a back-up, but there were a number of big plays where he was 'schooled', and its tough but i'd say he was a big part of how the Giants were able to score. um, how? He didn't throw any picks in the game, you just spew out garbage BS to justify your hate for the guy, but you don't even have an answer to replace him, do ya?! I'm sure the coaching staff has more knowledge than you { actually tons more } and i'm not gonna try to defend him, but geez you Heine-Haters need to get realistic. If you think putting Wentz in will be good then you need to stop watching football and take up Underwater Basket Weaving or something. The guy is damaged goods and will never be close to what he was with the Eagles, so give it a rest. Put the rook in? oh yea, thats genius; that would be telling the team 'we give up'. He didn't play a great game but he didn't cost the game either; he's a game manager at best with a little chip on his shoulder. If anything, the o-line coach should be put on a short leash, most every week they cave under pressure which disrupts the play. Why ST didn't keep a single back in all game and flood the field with WRs/TEs and just have TH rolling out more, especially since the o-line can't block toilet paper at least give the QB a chance to roll out. They looked like either the winning streak got into their heads and they figured NY would roll over or turner simply scaled down the game plan and is trying to rely on a rush-heavy offense, which will not work on the upcoming opponents.
  2. Some formations I can tell exactly whats gonna happen, so I can imagine what the Giants saw on game film. Its running multiple plays out of a single formation that will get them more success. These people need to really give up the "Wet for Wentz" vibe, the guy is trash. He would be a decent QB with a great o-line, RB and WR threats; putting the offense on his shoulders just bogs him down even more.
  3. right, but that threat hasn't been present in the last month or so. Defenses/ DCs see this and adjust their game plan because they doubt he will take off. Maybe he was told not to jeopardize the chances of making post-season. I doubt that he just doesn't want to do it because there's been numerous plays where he had at least 7-10 yds of open space to run but threw it instead. The only reason I could think of would be RR or ST holding back that option in hopes of post-season play, then using it. I can kinda get the idea of not showing all your cards right now, but it will be a tough game against SF and not letting your QB escape the pocket.
  4. Well, a tie is better than a loss, so thats that. BUT, who in the hec is # 34 Holmes?? That guy almost single-handedly cost the game. It seemed like every big play, every Giant score, he was either getting turned around or beaten or just out-played. Outside of the Vikings and Eagles, every team has been a meh team, nothing dangerous nor high powered offense, so beating those teams were more or less meh wins. This winning streak wasn't from Scott's genius game planning, it was from mostly brute strength; so when they play a team with a winning record, once again Scott looks like he took the week off. Why hasn't TH been taking off more? Was he told to stay in the pocket and make plays from there? Thats not his MO, but yet he's been doing that, and i'm inclined to believe that decision came from coaching, trying to protect him from getting hurt and foiling the prospect of post-season. Once again, SOS.
  5. This game is almost a mirror image of one another, at least for the last month or so, and it could very well come down to the Giants TEs making the difference or not. The running game on both sides has been well noted, the d-line pressure for both sides { although the Comms are making more headlines } and Jones has an advantage over TH in the passing game, but I think it will boil down to the LBers/secondary to get a win in NY. How the DC calls the game will be the deciding factor, and the Giants will be going heavy passing to their TEs and whether or not the Comms LBers will get caught up in a trick play or flat out blow the coverage like they did last week. Giants get close to the endzone DelTaco might get the idea they're gonna run it in and stack the box and leave a TE standing flat-footed in the endzone waiting for the ball. D I S C I P L I N E will be the name of the game. If they fall behind by +10 then the Giants will have them out of sorts and the game will be over, so each player doing their job and not getting caught staring in the backfield and letting TEs find wide open holes will be the key.
  6. The inability to adjust in-game or even mid-downs, i.e. injured DB/safety and attacking a back-up replacing them kinda makes me scratch my head, but then the o-line is starting to work ok together but not what I consider a solid unit. Screen plays are a rarity, and usually telegraphed when called; designing multiple situational plays out of a single screen play formation can really catch defenses off guard. There's a few formations that always seem to be sniffed out at the snap, so if Turner can devise/call a different play from that formation I think it would be a big yardage gainer or TD. Depending on what RR's main objective is, maybe he's told to be more aggressive in running plays, but when the running plays are snuffed out it leaves 3rd & long, obvious passing downs that backfire or stall a drive. In Gibbs' earlier stint, he said that he liked to go against the tendencies, and that formula worked pretty well, but maybe trusting TH with the ball is not quite sitting well with RR so he sticks with what is safer, especially when in FG range.
  7. This game will be the deciding game that either makes or breaks the team. As I saw TH throw that 'duck' of a pick against Atl I said " ok thats your gimme", figuring this will be all. Not gonna blame the weather, it was just a crappy pass, BUT in the end he held it together and the defense really stepped up when needed and secured the victory. The Giants always seem to haunt this team for some reason or another; flash back a number of years, all the WFT had to do was win a game against the Giants when NY was already in the playoff hunt and had sat starters, WFT came out flat and ugly and lost the game, a game they should have won. But now I think the ideology has changed on this team. One thing they can't do is become full of themselves and get blown out. Focus focus focus should be RR's main message. Robinson has great running strength, running angry, and can plow through the line, but i'm worried they may rely on him too much and he comes up limping. TH needs to roll out more, get a better field view and if its not there take off running, just like other teams have been doing to them as of late. Lastly, Payne and Allen is what i'm really concerned about. The entire league knows their power, and I can easily see a Giants lineman rolling up on their legs trying to take them out without being intentional, so lets hope that doesn't happen. I think in the end the Commies win this game but the re-match they drop; dunno why its just a feeling. For now, Commies 29 Giants 20
  8. I simply pointed out to you the fact that in the same time frame Mahomes and Allen has thrown MORE interceptions than TH, so your comment of TH throwing picks every game is not only been blown out of the water but it shows that every WQB in the league throws picks now and then. i'm sorry you can't face reality...
  9. I'm not saying they're excuses and i'm not saying they're Th's fault for not scoring TDs in red zone. I'm saying WE DON'T KNOW the situations going on behind the mics between OC and HC and TH. Maybe they don't trust him to make certain plays, maybe they're not calling certain plays on purpose, maybe they're crappy play calling, maybe TH can't make the throws needed, BUT we've all seen him make them before, so what changed? Paloff-wise, i'm not sold that they'll make them, but i'm hoping because anything can happen. Right now TH is the best scenario; the team is winnig, not in spite of him but along with him; its a team effort. If TH makes a mistake, the defense steps in, and vice-versa. I just cannot wrap my brain around the fact that there's no other solution to this; put Wentz back in and lose? Are you friggin kidding me??!! Are people so hellbent to hate a guy trying his best, who obviously has player support, willing to throw away a chance at a playoff spot just because you hate the fact that he has out-played and out-hustled and has far more pocket presence than Wentz just to prove a dumb point in saying " yea I was right about him"?? Really?? Really?? I'm going with whatever RR decides, he's got more knowledge of whats going on team-wise than any of us.
  10. Whatever the OC calls for a play is what TH has to do. I doubt he's given full authority to option out of a play called, then factor in what the defense is showing vs what they end up in at the snap, and there's other factors that weigh in as well. Its just unusually different to be in paloff talks or position and some just can't handle the possiblities. I doubt they make it in the end but they gave it everything they had, and there will be some who want to point the finger at TH, and they're just not being realistic. If he goes on a stink the next 4 or 5 games then yes blame can be put his way, but winning 4 of last 5 is not bad regardless of opponent.
  11. C'mon now, stop with the exaggerations. In spite of him? No, more BECAUSE of him. He's far more elusive than Wentz, there's no denying that; he doesn't have the arm strength Wentz does but he has a never die attitude. He's thrown 4 picks in the last 5 games. Josh Allen has thrown 7 ! Mahomes has thrown 5 in the same game span, so are you going to call them out as well? Shove some turkey down your pie hole and enjoy Turkey Day; meanwhile the Commies will be enjoying some slow-roasted falcon this Sunday...
  12. This game has me a little concerned, not offensively, buy defensively. yea, everyone is on the ' Chase is back' wagon, but with the somewhat consistency the defense has been playing as of late, I am a little worried that young's presence might get in the way of the defensive game plan. normally one would look at this and say 'oh its only gonna get better', but i'm not so sold on that yet; i'm sure he's burning inside to make a splash play to re-make a name for himself but that might end up backfiring on the defense. I hope not, and hope he can be the 'spy' on the QB who does run, and put a stop to that, but i'd prefer more coverage than d-line support; Mariota is smart enough to pick up quickly on hot reads and make Young dead weight. Offensively, I think things will go as usual. Gibson would be better fit for 3rd down screen passes etc and let the bulk of running go to the younger stronger legs because he looks to be able to break tackles better and doesn't hesitate when he hits the line. They gotta keep poised, + no more stupid body slams, this isn't Wrestlemania its football, and that meathead doesn't look like he has all the cheese on his enchilada. bottom line commanders squeak out a win Commies 23 Falconians 20
  13. The way I see it, making the paloffs is about 1 thing; coaching. Do I trust Rivera, Turner and DelTaco to get into a groove? No. Do I trust Heinicke to continue playing at a fairly decent/good level? No. Why i'm having flashbacks seeing this team only needing to beat the Giants to have a shot at paloffs, only to choke it away, who knows, but I can see the ultimate letdown coming at some point where THE game they desperately need to win that they end up looking like they never devised a game plan. The Pukes aren't an issue; I think they upset them as they usually end up doing late in the season, but the Giants game[s] give me pause. It is unusually strange[r] to even consider paloffs, lets face it, we're just not that type of a fanbase. We've been so indoctrinated into hapless illusions of " what could have beens " that the actual possibility tends to cloud most every mind, BUT...
  14. feels nice to be able to sit, at least for a few minutes to type this { herniated disc & sciatica }. This is one of those games where its a showcase game for the Texans; they will be interested in one or more of the Wash. players and a deal will be made in the off-season. Dunno why but it seems to happen most every year when its an NFC vs AFC game. { Maybe Payne? } Anyhoo, this will be a little lower scoring, kinda ugly/kinda entertaining game. Commies 19 Kotexans 15
  15. Th didn't play a good game today, but there's no possible way that HE is the blame for losing the game. If anyone actually believes that then they're dumber than dirt. Reading some of these comments one would think TH was 11-47 passing. Maybe some should actually WATCH the game, watch the o-line collapsing on most every play; it wouldn't matter WHO was QB they wouldn't have faired much better. Did TH play a poor game? Well he did have the team up by what 10 points going into the 4th? And the defense, with 3 LBers standing within 3 yds of each other, flat-footed in the middle of the field? WTF was that all about? Ehh, go ahead and blame who you want, but overall it was a team effort in the loss, not just one person.
  16. This is such sad news, it caught me totally off guard. The list of comments here describing "Big Dave Butz" doesn't begin to tell the kind of man he was; he played the game exactly the way it was written in textbooks, and never ever ever took a single cheap shot or intentional late hit. He loved sitting on his porch whittling, just enjoying the easy life, quiet and peaceful. RIP Big Dave, the entire Redskins/WFT/Commander family lost a good man...
  17. Tear down RFK { if it isn't already } and build a sophisticated updated version of the exact stadium, complete with close seats and grass { NO, Jumbo not the smoking kind }. 😜 Now THAT would be bad ass!
  18. WOW, just wow! I'm a bit late to this party, but i'm still going to err on the side of " i'll believe it when I see it ". BUT, lets not jump for joy just yet, who knows who will jump on this purchase, and getting some higher-than-thou who comes in, changes the color scheme, possibly name as well { although thats not a bad thing } but could change it to something worse. Where's that damned meteor thats supposed to 'come close to earth'; I hope this isn't super bad timing...
  19. A good game plan without the cutesy fancy trickery is best. The Vikings d-line will be putting pressure and the Comms o-line couldn't block a bunch of grandmothers from getting to the QB so designed roll-outs and scrambles can help to keep them off kilter. Logan Thomas has all but disappeared, so some other TE will need to step up and make some plays. If the defense can keep an eye on Cousins they can pick off some passes; at times he tends to throw low enough for them to be tipped at the LOS and the DBs/safeties HAVE to take a peek if they want a chance at snagging an int., but this is why they're not getting picks, they're only focusing on the WRs' motions only.
  20. Yea, this is exactly how they let Cousins go. Fans cried " oh he can't throw a fade pass " " he's garbage " " He'll wash out like everyone else "..etc etc . This is part of the bigger problem with QBs here; no one wants to give ANY QB a chance to grow, learn from mistakes and develop into a QB capable of winning. One year one & done, thats the motto here, everyone wants THE top QB to ever play the game and when a QB makes the first mistake they're ready to cast them to the wolves. The Eagles didn't give up on Hurts, even though he played poorly his first year; by all accounts here fans would have demanded they get rid of him { and don't lie you know who you all are } because thats what these fans do. TH has more than deserved a chance to stay here; its not like the guy doesn't give a crap, he plays his best; if the game plan doesn't favor what he can do he will struggle at times, if the o-line doesn't constantly break down in .5 seconds on nearly every play, if the route running isn't sold by the WRs, then ANY QB will struggle. So, absolutely YES, if they do to TH as they've done to other QBS here then i'd hope he goes somewhere and succeeds, because its not the WQB, its the FO and owner who are ignorant at doing things the right way.
  21. Well, 3 ways to look at it. 1. Lose to the Vikes 37-17 and some will give you the " I told you so" while snapping their tendons patting themselves on the backs. 2. Lose to the Vikes 23-20 and some will give you the " so TH couldn't pull it out against a team with a winning record " while snapping their tendons patting themselves on their backs. 3. Win vs the Vikes and you get the " oh the Vikes were a soft and fake winning team destined to collapse " while scratching their heads as to how it could have happened. Fandom has turned into cynicism, even by some intelligent people, but because a certain player, coach or owner is someone they despise { for whatever reason } they have to crap on the others' parade, even to go as far as rubbing it in their noses beating on their own chests/breasts at how they were correct. Can't everyone simply accept the fact that this organization is handicapped due to a bad owner, bad coaching staff and players who are not top-ranked players without a big arm, blazing speed or ability to be like glue on an opposing WR and at least fake it a little { if you really feel so narcissistic to try and prove you're right } and just be happy that you're alive, breathing air, enjoying food and drinks, and being with family and/or friends to enjoy moments together? Is it really THAT damn hard? Comms 19 Vikes 23
  22. What is all the vitriol on the pass to McL? So, he throws the pass, Terry catches it, go to next play. He throws the pass, its broken up and then go to next play. He throws the pass and the defender has a chance of picking it off. So he's damned if he did, damned if he didn't. Fans...
  23. there's no point in going back and forth with someone who just flat out doesn't like a player, you'll never convince them otherwise. IMO Th didn't play very well, but then again WTH was going on in warm-ups??? They DID go out for them, didn't they? Why was most offensive players looking like they were playing on frozen ice, slipping and losing their footing? Once again poor prep by the wonderful coaching staff. O-line, wow, just awful. Everyone is so focused on getting an 8 ft tall QB who can throw the ball 150 mph on a rope, but absolutely no concern for getting a competent coaching/training staff. There's enough weapons on this team to be competitive, but when a half-ass OC and DC throw together a bread and butter plain jane game plan it wouldn't matter WHO comes in the be QB.
  24. The trend in football is to have a QB who is mobile, to help counter the speed of defensive linemen. Thats one thing that Wentz will never be able to orchestrate; he runs like he's wearing concrete shoes. The biggest quality of TH is his ability to be elusive in the pocket and take off if there's a clearing of any form, even if its only 3-4 yd gains, but he's not taking sacks lying down. Wentz gets skittish behind the o-line { and who could blame him } but the speed of the d-lines are getting to him quicker, thus causing him to lose field vision, almost to a degree of temporary leg lock then eventual sack. Its been said by many, Wentz just isn't the answer, just as he wasn't in Indy; he's another one-n-done QB who spewed then fell asleep, then forgot how to play. He does like throwing deep passes, and thats the issue with TH not being able to have a big arm, but with the trends TH is just better suited. Maybe Howell will be in a year or so, depending on training, but Wentz should not start another game for this team, sorry its the truth.
  25. Well its been broadcast all over creation that the Colt's QB likes to run. Virtual beer says DelTaco will be shellshocked to see him run for at least 85 yds because DT didn't feel the need to have a 'spy' mirroring the guy. Forecast of possible rain makes me wonder if Irsay supplies the seats with cushions with Snyder's face with a huge red X on them...
