  1. Wow, if the organization ever collapsed they could go into the used tire market; I would say they'd be great but most likely they'd keep the blow-outs and chunk the ones with 100 miles on them...
  2. The thing is, whoever ends up buying the team will decide where this team goes. Wentz has to be cut, maybe keep Heinicke as a back-up, but the big picture is getting a competent coaching staff in here, especially a good QB coach. O-line needs a major overhaul, and a good DC who doesn't call soft zone on 75% of the downs. This alone would make a tremendous improvement in the entire organization; winning and a winning attitude would do wonders.
  3. Oh how the season has went from a fine cheddar to the smelly provolone. 1. Turner= OUT ! Cannot adjust, cannot CALL plays. 2. Wentz= OUT! What a waste, washed up and will probably never play another down of football ever. 3. Rivera= Undecided yet; an o-line trashed. let the good ones go elsewhere and kept the junk. 4. Heinicke= maybe keep as a back-up but not starter-worthy long term. 5. DelTaco { Del Rio }= OUT OUT OUT! Another one of RR's buddy buddy choices who loves playing soft zone especially on 3rd & 3. The talent on this team is not like the 49ers but still a very good defense, and could have been MUCH better had they been used properly. I'll go on a limb and predict Dallas will put up a 50-burger w/ cheese on this dilapidated pitiful excuse of a team and organization.
  4. Well so much for the Wentz experiment. Anyone who wants to keep this garbage on the team next season should seriously consider rehab.
  5. Who will be the starting QB? Will the Commie's secondary let TEs and WRs run amok through them while they are covering nobody in particular? Will the o-line be able to block a group of nuns? Will " th Hogs " have to teach the o-line 'Blocking For Dummies '? Who knows, most likely, maybe, too busy laughing. The Browns end up leaving a brown stain in DelTaco's defense as Watson goes crazy passing for 400+ yds. Commies 23 Brownies 31
  6. Not gonna mention anything about QBs, but go back and watch the game again; that o-line got worse as the game went on. There were quite a few times where they were all facing the QB; klooked like they got called a name and turned around to cry or something. At this point it doesn't matter WHO you put in at QB, nobody, nobody will do much better behind that line. It looked that bad.
  7. I'm hoping that Turner has finally gotten the picture / delusion of Robinson will be able to power out 6-8 yds per rush and start using some PAP on 1st downs. He needs to get TH or whoever the QB is out of the pocket on designed roll-outs to help extend plays and give the QB a better view of the field. He's got 6-5 300# + giants battling in front of him and as porous and weak as the o-line is in pass blocking it would buy a few more seconds and the option of taking off running. This is what I don't get; TH did this alot starting out but especially this year he's been staying in the pocket, and I certainly hope Turner sees the problem in that and makes adjustments, or he will just be playing into SF's hands.
  8. If TH is benched then there's only one way to go with it; Howell. If they end up starting Wentz its gonna piss off alot of fans because everyone knows he's a statue in the backfield. He's lost any and all abilities to feel pressure, lost his ability to scramble and thats not a good recipe for an aggressive defense in SF. Mobility, roll-outs and scrambling to extend plays are the only ways to do any damage, and Wentz just doesn't have it. Yea he has a big arm but thats useless when he's flat on his back. Turner needs to stop falling behind in the game; he keeps force-feeding moronic jet sweeps which are not gonna fool SF one bit, and especially stop running all the time on 1st downs. Thats not setting up anyone for success and just puts the pressure on the QB.
  9. Do you think that TH';s lack of mobility is coming from the coaching staff, telling him to try his best to stay and trust the pocket? Only reason i'm saying that is we've all seen TH scrambling out of the pocket and making split-decision plays, even taking off and running. I can't imagine he'd want to stay behind a line that isn't good at protecting him. On Turner, its a rarity to see Robinson or Gibson taking a pitch-out or cutting across bouncing it outside; its just a plow through the line best you can. Especially on a team that over-pursues
  10. Purdy reminds me of the obnoxious guy on " I hope They Serve Beer In Hell "
  11. Is it a wise decision to put Howell in replacing TH with this o-line? He hasn't sniffed the field in anything critical, and with the line being in shambles it could very well shell shock Howell. I can see the argument of putting Wentz in, but that would most likely give him the reps he needs and costing the team in money to pay others. And i'm not so optimistic on putting him in, unless an injury happens, just for the sake of him being a statue in the backfield, against a strong defense in SF, they would not only cream him but he would end up getting his reps and costing the team twice. I was hoping TH would flourish, but its not happening. Why? Yes the line is porous, and Turner knows this, yet he doesn't seem to be calling plays to best fit the line situation. Jet sweeps aren't working, and it puts them behind on 2nd & 3rd downs. If TH starts against SF Turner needs to call more designed roll-outs to get him outta the pocket, because there's rarely one that lasts more than 2 seconds. This team should have been firing on all cylinders Sunday night, but as usual they come out flat, lethargic, and unsure. Against SF, I don't see any QB being better than the other but mobility is the priority, and Wentz just doesn't have it.
  12. If Wentz does play I think he will struggle. then the excuse of 'rust' begins to echo. If he IS brought back, then the 26-27 mil should be alot lower, given his performance in the beginning of the year. But I suspect he will demand top dollar, why I dunno, he certainly doesn't deserve it...
  13. In a crucial play very late in the game, I could see if a ref doesn't throw the flag for a WR not involved in the play, but it was thrown directly to him, and thats a call a ref has to make 100 out of 100 times. McLaurin's thing, well, its kinda ticky-tack but the obvious PI in the endzone, no, there's no way that can't be called; at least by a competent ref.
  14. I dunno....some people hang onto things alot longer than others. I wouldn't be surprised. Because thats how this team/coaching works; play up to a good opponent then stink up the joint against a bad team. A month ago they went toe to toe with the Eagles and beat em, on their field, then barely squeak out a win against the Titans. The only thing about this team that is consistent, that is their inconsistency...
  15. What they're missing right now is speed, as in McKissic ; that guy was a bolt of lightning and a good 3rd dn option. I've seen it alot in Gibson and not quite as much in Robinson, but both have that tendency to hesitate before trying to hit a hole, its a rare sight to see them bounce it outside where Gibson's speed could get some good yardage and Robinson getting a good head of steam so nobody wants to tackle him.
  16. Well, another case of going up against a former coach/asst who wasn't appreciated. Yea, we all know Kyle Shanahan has this game circled; he will make an example out of the entire organization and prob hold short of running up the score. I feel for whoever is at QB for the Commies, they're gonna get buried often. I think SF will get more sacks than the Commies get in points, so you know it'll be bad. Just a bad situation all around. BUT, its not like SF can't be scored on, its the dumb jet sweep runs Turner constantly tries to run that rarely work, and he is clueless as to how to game plan against the SF D. Commies 6 49ers 31
  17. Geez, after SNF i've lost what little faith I had in Turner; as an OC he has no idea of attacking weaknesses, no idea of the porous o-line protection and no idea of adjusting in-game. TH looked like crap and can't put all blame on him but he certainly didn't play near to his potential, especially when linemen are already in the backfield when taking the snap. The opening d rive of the 2nd half was great; they didn't run on 1st down like they were all game, threw the ball quickly, TH got out of the pocket and made some plays, and they marched down the field and scored. hmmm, things turning around? NO. What do they do? Go right back to the same predictable play calling. IT doesn't matter what QB they put behind center, even Mahomes would eventually get either hurt or sacked. I've always liked Trevor Lawrence but thats not an option, but a TALL QB who has some agility would be an improvement, especially with this o-line, but until this team gets REAL quality coaching and an o-line that functions they will be just spinning their wheels...
  18. SMH... SMH more... 2 weeks; 2 WEEKS to prepare for this game, and they come out laying an egg, looking like pre-season, and when I saw the shot of DelTaco on the sideline with his infamous "duh" look on his face, that told me all I need to know. KDawg, spot on analysis. What I don't understand is WHY does Turner keep running that dumb jet sweep and running on 1st downs when it was clear it wasn't working like he hoped, yet he kept doing it. They come out the 2nd half looking like they got their **** together; drove down the field, passing on 1st downs, and scored fairly quickly; then back to the same ol' run run pass punt. TH looked like he was petrified out there; I dunno if Turner told him to stay in the pocket regardless or not, but there were plenty of chances for him to just bolt off and pick up chunks of yds, but he didn't. The o-line looked like swiss cheese, and folded the same way. Giant d-linemen spent alot of time in the offense's backfield, thus making things more difficult. It doesn't matter WHO they put behind center, with this o-line nobody will have success; they just suck. I'd be all for an entire coaching /staff change whenever the new owner[s] take reign, there are enough good players on this team on both sides of the ball to be far more competitive than the product we saw last night, and thats on coaching 100%. Turner knows TH's strengths and weaknesses yet he still believes that porous o-line can protect him. I'll be so glad when the entire staff is gone, and hopefully the new owners will stop hiring used up has-beens and nepotism practices when the new staff comes in. RR, bye, thanks. Turner, get lost in the woods somewhere and never find your way out. DelTaco, whats more to be said; the success the defense has had is the result of skilled players, not by anything he's done. Even the announcers mentioned the "soft shell" secondary, but its clear to everyone's eyes they look to be in almost prevent mode. SF will roll this team.
  19. I was hoping turner wouldn't play right into the hands of the Giants defense, but he is. Everyone in the stadium KNOWS a run is coming on 1st down. Giants KNOW its coming, and eventually Turner will screw up and get behind in the calls, like he is now
  20. I just hope every aspect of the team is focused and ready to go. Damn, I hate that feeling but I can't help but reflect a few years back when all they had to do was win against a Giants team that had nothing to lose, only to go out and lay and egg. If I were DC or HC, i'd tell them all to 'act like you've been there' and ease off the showboating; thats what gets under my skin; they make a big play, celebrate, then the next play get torched for a TD. Just go out and conduct business. Winning style...
  21. The SF game is a big concern. They've got a solid defense all-around, hard-hitting, CBs on WRs like glue, something that this team doesn't quite have yet, but still a solid defense. Their new QB, Purdy, looked damn good against Tampon Bay, reminded me of the playoff game against TB when TH started, but Purdy has a much better o-line and a bigger arm. IF they beat Seattle { most likely } it does give pause to wonder if SF will want to risk him getting injured, but then again who is his back-up? That game will be a slugfest no doubt and definitely THE game to watch that Sunday.
  22. Oh boy, the pressure is on! With a week to get some much-needed R&R, now its time for focus. The Giants lost against the Eagles, and i'm sure they're not happy about it, but now its their season possibly being on the line. A loss to the Comms will put them in a bind, an almost win-out scenario, and they may be emotionally spent. This game will tell everyone what Washington has planned for the remainder of the season; win or just kinda coast on the idea of 'well it was good while it lasted'. The one thing thats been bothering me is TH not getting out of the pocket { whether by design or necessity } because thats where he's the most dangerous; the ability to extend plays, give WRs a chance to get open. Thomas WAS a "go-to" TE, but evidently he's regressed, but still has some good hands, but mainly TH out of hte pocket will be the difference. I'm thinking the Giants will be smacked in the mouth early and often, or DelRio will have alot of explaining to do. If Chase plays, i'm concerned he may be more of a liability, maybe the coaching staff may have him trying to do too much and getting burned out early, but we'll see. Still, I think it'll be: Commies 33 Giants 23
  23. They know TH is far more mobile than Wentz, so why doesn't Turner draw up/call some designed roll-outs, maybe a QB run or 2 if coverage dictates. We all know TH isn't the answer { unless he suddenly develops a strong arm } but RR isn't gonna pull him unless he's throwing 3-4 picks/game. This is a situation where the fault falls on Turner and Turner only. He knows TH's abilities/liabilities and we've all seen him bolt out and take off running on any given play, so the threat of him doing this would help freeze LBers and give him a much clearer view of the field. I don't see how short QBs can see through both lines battling up front, but he can throw on the run.
  24. I think they should call more designed roll-out plays for TH. Its already bad that the line can't pass protect, so have him roll out, maybe a designed run or 2, just to keep the defense guessing. It seemed like the Giants knew about 60% of the plays before the snap, and thats on Turner solely.
