  1. Is this team only a QB away from contending? I don't think so. Defense has talent, mostly on the line, but the secondary is trash sans Collins play recently. There is a need for help there. Offensively Sims or Carter or someone else has to step up and start playing or find another WR with some speed and/or height; McLaurin will be blanketed the majority of games unless someone else is out there who can pose a threat to a secondary. I just think that a QB alone will not solve the problem; TH is in a slump, may or may not come out of it, and there will be other teams looking for a QB.
  2. I'm not over the moon with RR, but he does seem to try and bring a normalcy to the team, so with that I can wait and see what/how he improves the team. At least thus far HE hasn't created a hostile working environment, and a sense of things working as they should is showing, its just the assistants, especially DelTaco; that guy, I dunno what some see in him, but he's never held anything consistent, starts out good then goes to crap. Hec, he wasn't even coaching anywhere when he was hired; that should be a big red flag.
  3. Whether you agree or not, facts are facts. Gibbs DID have more coaching assistants than any other team back then, there's no arguing that point. Now, whether RR is good HC material, well, thats up in the air IMO; he's not a bad HC but his success was tied with Cam Newton. Jack DelTaco? Good coach? lol...
  4. I can't wait to see the camera pan over to see a tired, lifeless old fart by the name of Jack DelTaco staring onto the field, unaware of what he's doing and being abused by opposing offenses. " ok guys, soft zone, that'll stop em "...
  5. One of the things that helped Gibbs was the assistants. He had more coaching personnel on his team than any other team in the league { back in the 1st run } which made it possible to teach each aspect of every part of the team, getting into absolute detailed teachings, to fine tune their positions, which made the players better. Since then its been pretty much hiring a HC and that coach bringing his own losing assistants over, teaching the same old outdated or non-effective philosophies that got them fired in the first place { see Jack DelTaco }. For ONCE i'd like to see a bonafide GM bring in a bonafide head coach who chooses results over relationships. If you look into some teams across the league, they bring in their past affiliations with assistants, their family members, and sticks them into Quality control or other positions which could be better filled by someone with actual experience who is actually good at their jobs.
  6. Madden has done more for the NFL than anyone else, by far. For those who have yet to see his documentary, watch it, it is enlightening. * My favorite all-time Madden saying was during the Redskins / Bears playoffs in 87', when he and Summerall were talking about how cold it was during the game. He said " when its that cold your sweat freezes, your spit freezes, hec ANYTHING hanging on ya will freeze". I spit beer laughing so much... RIP Mr. Madden
  7. Maybe the gourmet chef that Snyder has there now is preparing meals that are deprived of vitamins, or too nutrition-based. I remember seeing a clip of the chef there and the odd dishes he made, Gordon Ramsey crap. Give these linemen their damn quad cheeseburgers with 5 slices of cheese; put some beef on them. These guys are getting pushed around because their energy is down and they've got nothing to throw into their moves, especially when the guy across them is bigger.
  8. For God's sakes I sincerely hope that they permanently affix the benches into the ground.
  9. Well, I wouldn't exactly call Gibson 'explosive', across or downfield; maybe last year, but this year, no. He's developed a bad case of Pro-Ski { protect the pigskin } and I cringe every time he runs up the middle { because he doesn't appear to have any vision for holes to run through } due to his fumbling issues. McKissic is another story; fresh legs, very shifty and quick but not an every down RB. A solid RB is needed. One thing I do agree with is TH's vision in the pocket; he's shorter and when there are 10 of 6'5 monsters slugging it out right in front of him,. i've screamed for him to bootleg out. Ive seen where some say that they want him to get out of the pocket but for some reason he doesn't. I just don't buy that logic. A. If Turner is calling a play that requires him to roll out and he's not, then he should be pulled to the side and told either run the play we call or hit the bench. B. TH is being stubborn and wants to try to establish himself as a pocket passer; I just can't buy into that one. One thing that TH does alot better than many QBs in the league is extending plays out of the pocket, either by rolling out to get better field vision or running a fake bootleg. We've seen him do this over and over, so why is he almost always standing in the pocket as it collapses? He's got better sense than that, and thats why I believe its Turner's play calling thats keeping him in.
  10. Maybe if they put the WFT benches on the field at least there will be action; albeit Payne and Allen, maybe an Eagle gets too close and one of them clocks him while trying to hit each other. Better yet, just hypnotize both of them into believing that every Eagle player is either Payne or Allen. **** they may end up with 12 sacks...
  11. C'mon in, the water is nice ! Isee it week after week; a TE or WR will run to a spot and literally stop, and there are 2 LBers close, but none of them even bother trying to get in the passing lanes UNTIL the ball is caught, THEN they tackle{ or try to tackle } him. And yes I get it, the league is offensively favored, but for every WR going out for a pass there's a DB or safety who should have an opportunity to defend or even pick off the ball. How many times have we seen absolutely W I D E open WRs with no defenders within 10 yds of him? Too many times. Players are clueless to their responsibilities, they stare at each other as the WR streaks by catching a TD pass. LBers standing flat-footed, not knowing where to go or what to do, and not pass protection type LBers either, more run support LBers. Its almost like this team needs to run a defense like Rivera ran when he was playing, the 4-6, but to do that they need coaching, and he sucks at his job; just like Haslett, just like Barry.
  12. There is a need of talent in the secondary, no doubt. But DelTaco is a damn coach; a defensive coordinator. His main job is to get the schemes designed to attack in the best ways possible against whoever the opponent is. Some teams run the ball better than they pass; some QBs are runners. Yet every single running QB they faced embarrassed them, and the only help was a slow, lumbering LBer who is built for run support not pass protection but still can't catch the QB. No, DelTaco's game plans are predictable and in some cases opposite of whats needed. He's got no ability to coach a defense, he was a coattail rider who got butt-lucky on 2 different teams for 1 year each; in fact, the teams' rankings dropped during his 2nd year on said teams. Week in and week out we see the same generic soft zone coverage, no pressure up on the line at all. I've yet to see defenders in front of the WRs at the line, they're always 8 yds back, and when a team needs 4 yds for a 1st down that strategy fails miserably. He has to be fired the day after the season ends. If he is kept then that shows the FO knows nothing and it will continue to be a **** show of an organization.
  13. When: January 2nd, 1 p.n. { noon central } Where: FedEx Field On Sunday the WFT welcomes the Philadelphia Eagles to do battle, if thats what its called. I believe the head-to-head is in favor of WFT 88-80-5, but i'm guessing that number will probably get closer. The Eagles come off a 34-10 beating of the New York Giants this past Monday night, and seem to be the only team in the NFCE who is trying to make a postseason appearance. It was never close for the Giants, held to a FG until late in the 4th when they finally got a scrub TD against probably a scrub defense in Philly. Well, what can I say; apparently the WFT never showed up in Dallas but the damned benches did. Yea, Mr. Snyder, that was so original and creative, and embarrassing. Before I could digest my burger, the WFT fell behind 21-0 before realizing that there's a game to be played. It didn't matter. The team looked lethargic, lifeless, uninterested and predictable. It was an ugly game, no 2 ways about it. It was the largest margin of victory by Dallas in the rivalry's history, and yes, that is on every single coach and every single player on the team. Apparently nothing was learned from the first game, there was no leadership nor was there any emotion, unless you want to count the friction between the 2 D-linemen who went at each other, but at least in the previous meeting it didn't look so lopsided. I cannot say that i've seen a team this out of it in a long time; yes, Covid had taken its toll along with some real awful scheduling, playing games on shortened weeks and playing opponents who are coming off a bye week, it was a perfect storm and recipe for disaster. Being the season is winding down, I doubt there is a scenario where the WFT could somehow make the postseason { I could be wrong } but honestly I just assume lose the remaining games and pack it in for the year; the bloodbath we just witnessed will be a rinse/repeat IF they somehow manage to make postseason play, and i'm not looking forward to that at all. There's no catching lightning in a bottle, no miracle winning streak to start, no situational advantage, and frankly no prayer. So, the Eagles now come to play on WFT's turf. I can only imagine they will be as fired up as Dallas was, and I can only imagine the same intensity by the WFT that they had in Dallas. The only noteworthy mention is the Eagles RB Sanders will most likely not play due to broken bone in his hand, but thats it. With TH not getting out of the pocket to extend plays, there is little hope for a victory. Why he hasn't been getting out is beyond me. Could it be the play calling? Could it be his desire to be a pocket passing QB ? I gotta lean on the idea that its not by his design, it would fall under the turner choices of plays called and I doubt TH has the ability to audible out of a play, but thats all water under the bridge at this point. I can no longer defend TH, I wanted to believe he could manage the game, but with no offensive weapons its impossible to accomplish that feat. Will the WFT show any fight in the game? Will the Eagles run up the score like Dallas ? Will this organization EVER get quality players and coaching staff? When the dust settles and the feathers stop flying, the WFT just can't muster up anything against a team on the prowl. final score: WFT 16 Eagles 38 * First correct score prediction wins a new WFT cap and a couple other goodies. Good luck !
  14. Its difficult for me to throw the blame at RR, but he did bring DelTaco here, and it has been crystal clear all season that he knows nothing about being any type of decent DC. Most all of the players were healthy at the beginning of the season, yet we saw no creativeness, no scheming{ at least none effective } and piss pot poor adjustments, but only after the games were beyond hope. I'm not high on Turner by any respect, but I do understand the talent level on offense is McLaurin and Thomas and thats it. And Thomas has been nicked up all year and who knows if he will be reliable next season or not, but they have to keep him. But Gibson is no RB, they need a good RB and badly.
  15. Yea, I bumped this, for obvious reasons. Losing a game is one thing, but this defense is playing reactionary defense, and thats not going to win any games. There are issues on offense as well, but this thread is only for Jack DelTaco, the only DC i've seen who consistently gets eaten by offenses.
  16. True, and I think he realizes they're not worth ****, but if he fires them in-season then the media would really light this team up.' I'm hoping like hell they fire DelTaco and Turner after the season is over, and yes this team needs some talent, so maybe they need to look at the scouting dept too.
  17. He's just the HC, its the OC and especially the DC thats the problem. Why some believe DelTaco is some sort of defensive mastermind is beyond me. The guy blows dog, he sucks and he knows it, he was just lucky enough to coddle RR's sack to get him a job here. There's enough talent on the line at least to be much better than this, but the LBers are slow and playing reactive catch-up the whole game; they stand flat-footed next to a WR, wait for him to catch the ball, THEN try to tackle him, they don't bother trying to get in the passing lanes at all.
  18. But hey, if this means a step closer to getting rid of DelTaco and his marshmellow zone coverage then let em lose by 50
  19. May as well get rid of the LB group and coaching and just go with safeties. **** the LBers run like they're knee deep in molasses.
  20. Thought turner would have learned a lesson and call plays to get TH out of the pocket, but no, I was wrong.
