  1. Yea, i've done my share of punching on Turner, but not for what he's done but for what he's not done. I know that the team isn't healthy, between Covid and football-related injuries it has taken its toll on this team. They were on a 4 game winning streak going into the Dallas game, but that game plan was god awful. Yes Dallas may be more talented but if Turner is such a good OC then how did he end up playing right into the hands of what Dallas wanted to do? IMO the coaches were more to blame than the players, but still it doesn't absolve Turner from calling such a predictable game. Dallas isn't THAT good of a team to embarrass the WFT like they did on tv; to me it looked as if Turner was trying to force an issue that Dallas was already prepared for, and even then he didn't really change up things until the game was way over with, and at that point its almost desperation calls which fall right into what Dallas expected. So yea, i'm just not sold on him as of yet.
  2. One thing that no one's really touched on is getting a FA QB who is already established in the league is one thing. But, going to the draft to get a QB is only solving half of the problem. A college kid needs a good QB coach to groom him into the philosophy of the team. Yea, there's this talk of college teams and coaches who adopt an NFL-type system and supposedly are NFL ready, but it still doesn't complete the job. Whoever it is needs a good QB coach and an OC who can bring out the best of this QB. Do you think that Turner is that guy? I don't.
  3. After seeing the thread title, it DOES remind me of the movie Rollercoaster. WFT always coming off the tracks ending in disaster...
  4. Its like digging one of the back tires in, so you maneuver and do some things and get it out of the hole, only to drive directly into another one immediately. I doubt Wilson comes here, but why would he? McLaurin and thats it. Who knows what will happen with Thomas, he's getting nicked up pretty often now and no one else is doing anything. I just have a bad vibe about Carr; if the pieces all fall into place and he comes here, my gut says things will not be good, and he'd still have the same issues as Wilson or any other QB. The team, especially the offense, is just not attractive to any bigger name QBs. Got a RB with a bum foot, 1 good WR, and a suspect o-line. The only scenario I can see would be a QB chasing money, and that never works out in this team's favor. The upcoming draft doesn't impress much, and other teams are looking for QBs, and chances are they will be chasing their own tails in desperation to sign any QB. It wouldn't hurt my feelings to see RR build the rest of the team, clean house of the would-be's and hope the 2023 draft is more promising. Maybe a stop gap QB as a starter or back-up until time comes.
  5. Was there any talk of the Eagles' TE Goeddert { however its spelled } going low against a back-up like that, taking him out of the gsame? I thought that was pretty chicken****, but he wasn't in contact with anyone else, but still that was a ****ty thing to do.
  6. When: December 26th Primetime Game 7:00 P.M. Where: The whorehouse a.k.a. AT&T Stadium On yet another short week { F U Goodell } the WFT { or whoever is left } travels to Texas, where men are men and sheep are scared, to take on the Cowboys. Being the WFT just played them it seems like a week ago, i'm gonna leave off the head-to head and stat stuff. Its probably for our own good. Lets just say its not pretty. Dallas is coming off a win against the VaGiants, 21-6, in a game that was a bit confusing; it almost seemed like Dallas WANTED to lose, and they gave New York all the chances in the world but I guess the giants just didn't want it. Its all but a done deal, Dallas will end up winning the East, and all we can hope for is the typical 1st round bouncing that they usually get come postseason. So, what do I say about the WFT? This team has been jinxed. If it isn't Covid then it is constantly playing teams coming off a bye, fully rested, while players seem to be dropping like flies. I thought the organization had a developmental facility with training staff? It must be a couple people who do split shifts at Denny's, or the typical 'family hirings' that coaches seem to get away with. So on an unprecedented Tuesday night, the WFT went up to Philadelphia and decided to bring THEIR benches? What brainchild thought of that brilliant idea? Anyway, the game actually started off pretty good. I do gotta say that Landon Collins made an exceptional interception off the heel of an Eagle TE. When I saw it in real time I thought to myself 'that was close to a pick off', and when the refs gathered, I knew it was. Washington went up 10-0 early in the first qtr, and things were looking ok, even for the run-heavy attack and scared ****less QB. Then the 2nd qtr started. The one thing this team lacks is the ability to step on the throat of an opponent when they're down, and sure enough the Eagles clawed their way back to tie it at 10-10 at halftime. Now, the Eagles were by far nothing to fear as far as being a dominant team, but momentum is a mutha. They caught it and the WFT didn't, plain and simple. It looked as if every aspect other than special teams looked flaccid, lifeless. Yes, Covid had taken its toll but wow was this team utterly lifeless. Bland predictable play calling, a QB who didn't really show hardly any skills that a QB should, and a gimpy running back was the recipe for disaster. The Eagles took over the 2nd half and never looked back. Washington tried to make a game of it by scoring a TD in the 4th to bring it to a 3 point game, but the Eagles drove right down the field and scored as well, and the rest was just a vision of pre-season. So, now, again on yet another short week, the WFT has to hit the road heading to Dallas who will be foaming at the mouth to get their hands on Gilbert if Heinicke doesn't get back. I actually wonder if Dan T. may finally get the score correct on this game, but backwards? It could be that kind of game; prime time on NBC, the entire nation watching after celebrating Christmas, but it will most likely be the Grinch visiting the WFT. Will Dallas have mercy or adhere to bad karma? Who will be the QB for WFT ? Will there be anyone naive enough to pick the WFT to win? These and many other questions will be answered in a matter of 96 hours, because the game will probably be out of reach at that point. When the dust settles and the Covid tests come in, WFT will not look like the same team from a month ago, by a long shot. final score: WFT 10 Dallas 42 First correct score prediction wins a Cooley Jersey and a black Redskins Hands High shirt size L. Good luck, they will need it!
  7. I grimace in pain trying to wrap my head around what I saw last night and how on earth I can possibly find a bright spot in the Prediction thread. BUT; It may not be a popular opinion but it is an opinion. 1. McLaurin is a good WR but nowhere close to top 5 material. He needs help desperately. At times he just seems to disappear; maybe from coverage, I dunno. 2. Gibson shouldn't be the starter next year unless they can't find a decent RB. His 'freak performance' last year against Dallas made him popular, but he lacks vision, power, burst, and cutback ability. He just seems to make up his mind before the snap which way he wants to run and goes that way. That works against weak d-lines. 3. Gilbert is just that; a practice dummy for d-lines to work on. I didn't see him hardly ever look off any safety or DB, almost like Gibson; made up his mind where he was gonna throw pre-snap. Heinicke is constellations better and i'd venture to say against the Eagles the outcome would have been different. 4. Turner. RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN pass punt. Yes the circumstances were bad but he's been guilty of constantly running on 1st downs for awhile now. Predictability is his forte'. 5. Last but not least, JACK DEL TACO. He is now on levels with Haslett as far as my hatred goes. Yes he's Rivera's guy, but they showed him on tv for a few seconds, and he was either chewing his finger nails or smelling his finger, probably the second. Is the talent level THAT bad in the secondary? Funny but i've always thought that coaches " COACH ", teach, the players so they become better. Thats the definition of coach. * I do have to ask this question. At which point does blame start being directed at the scouting dept for finding all of these 'studs', d-line excluded? It seems that other teams can find a WR who is taller than 6'1 who can make remarkable jump catches, or a WR with good speed who can actually catch the ball. But not this team. its nearly the Smurfs II sans the talent. ok, off to the gloom and doom a.k.a. Prediction thread... They showed a guy and his partner waving a big WFT flag and decked in WFT gear, surrounded by Eagles' fans. I wonder if they made it out alive...
  8. I still think that has TH started last night the outcome would be much different. Philly's D wasn't great { but it was great for a new QB } but that kid last night just didn't have anything that looked impressive to me. There are the typical short passes that most every QB makes with their eyes closed that he missed on last night. Field vision not there, he locked onto one WR on most of the plays that he threw on, that is when Turner wasn't calling 101 running plays. Even the one play where he went deep; TH has thrown deep as well, and last night's pass didn't have any zip on it, in fact it looked like a pass that TH throws.
  9. After sleeping that embarrassment off, i've just realized something. I remembered back in the days when I was married, and every once in awhile, after a night out on the town, we'd hit the bed to sleep off the upcoming hangover. I would pull the sheets over her head and let a gnarly one out, i'm talking a paint-peeler, to the point where I once considered calling HASMAT. This game last night made me realize how she felt...
  10. They got no faith whatsoever in Gilbert, and yes go ahead and fire Turner along with DelTaco
  11. { sarcasm } oh, c'mon now, its the talent. I've been calling for his head because he has no idea on how to scheme against an offense. Most every pass play there's 3 defenders around the would-be ball catvcher, THEN they tackle him after he makes the catch.
  12. Pathetic. Not enough faith to throw a 3 yd pass. Turner is playing not to lose, and that means they will lose, unless he grows a set, and quickly. Eagles are 1 play from tying the game
  13. Yea but an early fumble can ignite the Eagles and so far Gilbert is being given a short leash. They should take a chance and let him go deep a couple times if they have enough confidence in him See?? Just like I said they should do
  14. Geez they are BEGGING for Gibson to fumble. For Christ's sakes, if you're gonna run on every single down then at least put another back in and give him a break. He's gonna start fumbling soon if the brainchild Turner keeps calling run on every down
  15. I totally agree, its just that the upcoming draft doesn't look appealing for a QB worthy of building around, and getting a vet who is good enough to take this team into a perennial post-season affair is going to be alot harder. Some mention Wilson but he's about 34 so his career is winding down soon, and with the plethora of other needs this team has, why not build other aspects of this team and be patient for a QB that can come in and complete the picture. I'm not saying TH is the answer but the risk/reward of getting an average-at-best QB is not good, and there will be a number of teams looking for a QB, so having most of the pieces in place already makes it a more attractive package for a potential good QB to bite on.
