I got back/forth on Jabari Parker. Wizards haven't had a legit 3rd guy who can create off the dribble in the Wall/Beal era. He's got a ton of warts, but the upside is clearly there since he's only 23. Why can't he be a reclamation project like Caron Butler? Offensively, at times, he reminds me of Carmelo Anthony.

You're a grade A crab *** loser if you pay money to heckle at a pro game. Booing is 100% fine...but taking things to the extent of getting beyond personal is pathetic.

Never in a million years would I have thought this Lebron/LA marriage would fail so badly. There's a MAJOR divide in that locker room. Young guys for sure feel alienated due to Lebron's meddling and overall presence. He's got opinions on their commitment, but this is the same dude who has his hands in multiple projects outside of basketball that are CURRENTLY going on. Yea, he's one of the best...arguably THE best to play the game...but him pointing fingers is nothing more than some hypocritical **** at the moment. Lakers stuck with him too. Good luck w/ that.

The Passion of The Jussie (FKA The Smollett Fiasco)
RonArtest15 replied to Spaceman Spiff's topic in The Tailgate
Or the redacted phone numbers were most likely the two Nigerian guys. Hilarious how the CPD let this idiot carry on with his story while most likely knowing that the whole thing was a hoax. Now Smollett will be made an example of. Just read that this could go before a grand jury. -
The Plight of the 2021 Baltimore Orioles

Anything north of 60 wins will be a success. I'm just happy that we have some forward thinkers behind the scenes. Still worried about Brady being employed to some extent. -
@StillUnknown I would have given Hezonja the dunk of the year crown for what he did to Criss the other night...but man...Knox got that title right now. WHOA

It's amazing how advanced stats can tell you why Otto is so good, but yet why Bobby Portis is so bad (defensively.) EYE TEST alone, I love what Bobby brings to the table more than Otto. That's all I'll say for now, but you put Bobby's motor in Otto, and you're probably looking at a less athletic Paul George.

I think the journalist was Katie Carrera, but she wrote a SCATHING piece on the Caps in the WaPo right before McPhee got fired. She left no stone unturned and I had never seen anything like that about a team that wasn't the Redskins. Grunfeld has been here for what...17 years? No one in the media has said a thing about his track record in print. Baffling to me.
-
Without a doubt. Obviously you want both guys to make a full recovery, but Wall meant EVERYTHING to this team. EVERYTHING. Smith wasn't here long enough to have the kind of impact Wall had both on and off the court. This is beyond devastating news. The Wizards org just needs to accept that they need to have a complete rebuild. What stinks is that Grunfeld will most likely be the one overseeing it. I wish someone in the local media would do a teardown piece of Grunfeld and the Wizards FO for their ineptitude. This team has been utter crap since they pushed all their chips to the middle of the table to lure KG here to DC. What was that...back in '14? Summer of '16 was just the icing on the cake as far as everything that could go wrong with the franchise. Literally NOTHING has gone right for this organization since 2014. Don't even give me the drafting of Brad Beal, because that was a no-brainer. It's becoming and echo chamber, but for the life of me it's baffling to the 10000th degree to find any way to justify Grunfeld's employment. This has been a sinking ship for a while. Us die-hards (and bloggers) knew it...just the FO is too blind to realize the same thing.

How in tuned are you with HS/College aged kids? He's a huge star and a major household name. -
It's the Knicks, so there's a good chance it will LOL. No reason for anyone to form a super team in that city.
-
Crazy gamble by the Knicks...trading KP will obviously be water under the bridge IF they land a marquee FA or two this summer. If stars don't sign there, this will go down as one of the most idiotic trades in the league over the past 10-15 years. Trading a potential top-10 player in the league for cap space...LOL.
-
I'd rather take a gamble on Beal, than two guys in Lonzo/Kuz. No one knows what BEal's FA plans are aside from insiders saying he won't be in DC past his current deal. He could re-up with whatever team that trades for him. Did anyone see Paul George re-signing w/ OKC? You just never know... I'd still take that gamble. The Kawhi deal is working out right now for the Raptors even with the strong possibility that he's bolting when his contract expires. 1.5 year gamble on AD > 2.5 years of having Beal on the roster.
-
I'm not even being a homer, but I honestly don't think (of all the teams rumored to be suitors for AD) that anyone outside of the Wizards can put together a better package. Beal, right now, IS the 2nd best 2-guard in the league on a great contract and he's ONLY 25. Yes, there are teams who can put together packages w/ young assets...but Beal isn't in his prime and is scratching the surface with his potential. New Orleans would potentially be getting a guy who you can plug in right now and get you 24-30ppg on any given night. Beal/Morris/Picks...GET IT DONE.
-
You do know that Wall, even at 50-75%, is light years better than both of those guys, right? There were also grumblings that a Harden/Paul tandem wouldn't work either...we saw how good the Rockets were last year with the two of them and were EXTREMELY close to eliminating the Warriors from the playoffs.
