  1. Here's my thing....and it falls on Flip's head. WHY does he continue to give Blatche a long leash? I never see Flip getting in Blatche's grill (like he does McGee) after HORRIBLE play. There are plenty of instances where the dude should be benched, but he's left in the game. I know McGee isn't perfect, but I can tolerate his mistakes moreso than Blatche's because it at least looks like he cares. I am through with Blatche....actually, I've been done with the dude for a while. He's got zero commitment to improving his game. Wizards bus should have made a detour through Brooklyn and left his behind somewhere in East New York. *VERY imrpessed w. Shakur. Small sample size, but he's looked really good (and a nice change of pace PG) in the 2 games that he's been here. Dude REALLY gets at it defensively. I hope it warrants another 10 day contract.
  2. As far as re-signing NY, do any of you all think he'll have a Blatche-like regression once he gets paid? This season could be fools gold from the guy....if he is re-signed, I hope it's for a moderate deal...something could be easily moved if he proves that this year was an anomaly.
  3. Winner, Winner! But dude is 100% right....the Shard/Gil trade wasn't about wins and losses....
  4. And no offense to you as well, SM, but I don't think YOU have watched much of Perry Jones. If you did, you'd know he's had a good season and is playing well within his conference games...not to mention shooting at a high clip, etc. His upside is FAR greater than Barnes. And yes..please find me one article or person who have mentioned the word "bust" when talking about Jones like they do for Harrison Barnes. You keep comparing the #'s like that's supposed to mean something. Watch the games bro...In a TERRIBLE ACC, Barnes should be dominating especially for being the #1 recruit in the country. But yeah...we'll take solace in the fact that he's doing a lot of things well that don't show up in the score sheet...*shrugs* *Question....why does Flip continue to jerk McGee around all while giving Blatche a much longer leash? I also loved the physicality that Seraphin plays with...dude was banging w. Gortat last night. I wonder what this roster is gonna look like next year?
  5. Agreed. Perry Jones' versatility is unmatched in college b-ball today. When is the last time you saw a guy 6'10+ TRUSTED to bring the ball up the floor? What...Odom at URI? Anyways, Jones has lived up to his billing IMO (and that's what has separated him and Barnes). You can tell that his upside is tremendous and he doesn't need another year at Baylor. I really hope he somehow lands in DC next year. Barnes on the other hand has been awful. It's no knock on the guy or you, but it seems like you've convinced yourself that he's playing better than he actually is. He's been a bust and clearly needs another year of seasoning in Chapel Hill. Like I said before, maybe his game will translate better to the pros, but I'm not seeing it.
  6. I dunno bro...I'm not seeing it w. Barnes. For a 5* recruit, he's been awful. For his pedigree, it's easy to make an argument that he's been one of if not THE biggest freshman bust this season. I'd like to see him get more agressive out there and have a better shot-selection. The fact that we are saying that the positives for the #1 recruit in the country are things that don't show up in the stat sheet is kinda alarming, no? Should he declare after this season he'll most likely go in the lottery...I just wouldn't want any parts of him if the Wizards are drafting in the top 3-5. I hope he stays in CH for at least one more year to work on his game...with the looming CBA problems, that may become a reality for him.
  7. Harrison Barnes has been extremely underwhelming this year. Maybe his game will translate better to the pros, but at this point, I wouldn't want him on the team. Sullinger on the other hand....the kid is an absolute BEAST. Reminds me a little bit of Boozer.
  8. I just want two things to happen (well, actually 3) 1. Fire Flip...put RW or Sam Cassell in charge for the rest of the year and see what happens 2. Trade Blatche 3. Get Perry Jones.
  9. Nick Young had a GREAT game...but I wasn't the only one who noticed that he wanted that 40 points more than the win.... Nick Young is what he is....a good starter on a bad team. I still stand by the fact that I'd like to see him be a 6th man, but that will NEVER be in the cards for the Wizards.
  10. He's the 146th most efficient player in the NBA right now. He's cut from the same cloth as guys like Eddie House. A one-trick pony. Take away his scoring, and then what? Again...I'd like to see him become a 6th man, but the wizards have a severe lack of talent at the 2 and thus, Nick Young is getting those starters minutes by default. Ok...with that rationale, I'm a believer now. You convinced me. He's a beast.
  11. In a perfect world, Nick Young would be a 6th man. He's a 1 dimensional chucker....due to the lack of talent on the team at the 2, hes a starter by default IMO.
  12. No thank you to Jamison...no need to bring in guys who were part of the old core. Jamison was frustrated with what was going on here in DC, so I don't see why it makes any sense to bring him back. If we could get a mulligan, letting go of James Singleton was one of the biggest mistake made. I wish we could have him back here in DC. That's the type of vet we need here...no Jamison.
  13. I just read that the Cavs are interested in Blatche...if the Wizards can potentially swing a deal where they bring in either Hickson or AV, they gotta make that move. As far as Nick Young....I dunno. He is what he is. A one-dimensional chucker. I'm not as high on him as some of you all are. He's our best option at the 2...in a perfect world, I'd love to see him in a 6th man role where he'd get 20-25 mpg. We just don't have the talent or bodies on the roster to make that happen. Oh well...
  14. It's going to be hard to listen to lavar & dukes discuss Wall's performance on my drive home this afternoon. They really know nothing about basketball and I turned off their show yesterday when they said KD made an instant impact (in comparison to Wall) when he was drafted. If they did their research they would know that the sonics won somethign like 20 games in KD's rookie year. I have ZERO issue w. Wall being named captian (Lavar & dukes did). I mean, why not? There's nothing but immaturity on the team, and Wall is cut from a different cloth. As he goes, so do the Wizards. You can tell that the other players feed off of him, and he says/does all the right things so far. Wow...what a treat to have him in DC.
  15. I'll agree to disagree....because there's no way I'm taking Rashard Lewis, Elton Brand, Antawn Jamison, or Zach Randolph over Blatche. I consider Duncan more of a C than a PF (same w. Amare & Horford), and Jeff Green more of a SF than a PF.... Honestly, I'd put Blatche in that 10-15 range.....and he still has an upside too.
  16. Just for giggles, can you name 20 better PFs than Blatche? He's in that top-20 IMO....not a good showing last night, but he'll turn it around. *Just so there's no confusion....I stated that we have 81 games to go, but I was only pointing out the negatives from last night. Some of those negatives were bad-habits from last season which obviously carried over to the game vs. Orlando
  17. I'd be THRILLED if the Wizards won 32....before the season started, I was hoping for 30-35 wins.
  18. We have 81 more to go, so I'm not too worried about losing last night....however, there were some warning signs in the way in which we did lose, though. -John Wall is a SPECIAL talent. One of, if not THE fastest player in the NBA w. the ball in his hands. It would help him (and the team) immensely if there were some reliable shooters on the perimeter who could hit an open shot. -Nick Young needs to go. He brings NOTHING to the table. There was one possession (when he first checked into the game) where he got the ball with about 20 seconds left on the shotclock and he just puts it up. I never want to see this guy on the floor again. If there was an award for being the most one-dimensional player in the NBA, he'd be it. -Andray Blatche....what the heck? Jumpers all game? I expected more from him, honestly. Maybe last season was a mirrage, but it doesn't seem like he's on the same page with Flip. It will be interesting to see if there is any more friction like there was last year. -Javale McGee....wow. Dude is absolutely CLUELESS defensively. And those jumpers??? STOP. -Cartier Martin was impressive last night..... *Do you all think Flip is the right coach for this team? I wish we had a young-upstart like OKC did w. Scott Brooks. Honestly, I don't think Flip will be the coach going into next season.
  19. I'm sure Sellers just got caught up in the moment and had a brain fart. It's a darn honor to be asked to carry the flag out of the tunnel...do any of you who are questioning him HONESTLY think that it was pre-meditated on his part to disrespect the flag? Like he was asked to carry the flag and his immediate thought was "ok...I'm going to carry the flag, and as soon as I get to the 50, I'm gonna slam it down...." Sellers seems like a stand-up dude, so I'm willing to bet that it was unintentional on his part. Brain farts happen...even in the largest of venues.
