  1. Kris Humphries is actually a good player....he's more than deserving of a roster spot. He ATE Blatche's lunch today...dude was going HAM in the paint.
  2. I initially laughed at the Turiaf acquisition because all I really knew of him was from clips of being an overly-enthusiastic cheerleader....but wow, this guy is GREAT to have on the floor. He's vocal in such a great way that's a real asset to our young squad. Wizards have to regain their focus for the 2nd half. 2nd quarter was really disappointing.... *Also, it's really lame of our fans to boo Kris Humphries.....for what? Yall putting Kardashian on a pedestal as America's sweetheart? Shoot, we got other herbs in the NBA who mess with some of those chickens on b-ball wives and no one says a thing...let the man live. /rant
  3. After watching the Knicks/Celtics game and seeing how Miami is playing....it makes me realize how far the Wizards have to go. This is going to be a trying year.
  4. KG picks his battles VERY wisely. He goes after Euros and others who he thinks won't do anything back. I remember he thought he could get over on Zaza Pachulia, and Pachulia wasn't having it. Anyways...he probably saw the 6'4" gangly Crawford and grouped him with the rest of the guys he "punks." Little did Garnett know that Crawford has a screw loose and would probably hem him up if given the chance.
  5. Of course you'd rather have Tyson Chandler in comparison to Turiaf. However, you're (along with everyone else) is going to be laughing at the contract he gets in a matter of days. He's a good player, but he's going to be SEVERELY overpaid by the Knicks. Turiaf is a high-energy guy....he's a good guy and hopefully some of his professionalism will rub off on Blatche and McGee. Also, he can mentor Seraphin. I'm not expecting much, if anything from Turiaf. He'll play 10-15 minutes of high-energy basketball. Good guy to have on the roster and he was cheap. No biggie.
  6. This draft is going to be SO deep....unbelievable. Honestly, if you wind up w. a lottery pick, there's a good chance that you may have a future STAR on your hands....not just a solid player, but a star. *Count me in as someone who would much rather have Davis over Drummond. For as enticing as Drummond is, Davis is more NBA-ready by a long-shot.
  7. Keep Shard...use the amnesty clause on Blatche. Whatever it takes to get him off this roster.
  8. I remember leading up to the draft that there were folks actually advocating the Wizards taking Turner #1 overall....jeez. SMH Turner's ceiling is Boris Diaw. It's no knock on Turner, but I just don't see him being more than a good #3 option who can facilitate the offense in the half-court. Going back to the Wizards, DC will be a good FA destination because of Wall. Like you said, he's a pass-first PG and dudes will be clamoring to come here in due time to play with him. I love the young core, call me crazy, but this team will be fighting w. Chicago in 3-4 years as one of the top dogs in the EC. I think squads like Atlanta, Orlando etc. have plateaued...C's will be falling apart (unless they get Dwight), and I'm not sold on Melo/STAT in NY (they'll score in buckets, but until they BOTH commit to defense, it will be more of the same...*overrated...clap, clap, clap, clap.)
  9. Dude should pay attention to how Leonsis built the Caps....same concept w. the Wizards. EVERYTHING revloves around Wall. Only a matter of time before this team turns it around.
  10. I saw a portion of this quote on the BF website: http://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/wizards-try-to-develop-chemistry-while-being-locked-out/2011/09/28/gIQAHJWE8K_story_1.html VERY interesting comments from Crawford. He doesn't specifically call anyone out, but we all know this is Wall's team....but there seems to be a specific "someone" *cough* Dray* who I'm assuming that the quote is directed. This summer he's trying to rehab his image by bringing up his charity trips, working out, organizing team workouts (that no one attended), etc. I swear this team would be 100% better off with him gone. We all know what he can do on the court when focused...but I feel he's an EXTREMELY negative influence to have on this roster. Addition by subtraction if he's gone. I don't care what the return is, this team needs him gone.
  11. Post fight presser....PBF brings up some GREAT points... *Warning* there are a few curse words, so I guess this is NSFW o7XXOgDMscs I'm not even a Floyd fan, but it seems like a lot of people are letting their emotions/hate get the best of their objectivity. Floyd did NOTHING wrong last night in the way that he KOd Ortiz. If anything, Ortiz was the one fighting dirty. On top of it all, it looked like he gave up and just wanted to collect his check and go home. All that hate towards PBF should be redirected to Ortiz for the act he put on in the ring...
  12. The first time I was REALLY proud of them was in the late season loss to Miami. I think that's the type of effort Flip wants, the fans want, and the players should give on a nightly basis. It's only a matter of time before everything clicks...
  13. I didn't factor in Evans because I don't think he'll be back. IMO, Singleton is the far superior defensive player (between him and Booker). I think this is where he has an edge. No matter Booker's year experience in being a pro. Singleton is a more versatile defender as well. Let me ask you...even though he's undersized, is there any situation where Booker can get a few minutes at the 5?
  14. This may sound totally insane, but I've got a feeling that Chris Singleton will be our starter at the 3 to start the season. And Vesely will be the primary back-up at the 3 (and push for some minutes at the 4 over Booker) before Feb.... McGee/............/Seraphin Blatche/Booker/Vesely/Owens Singleton/Lewis/Vesely Young/Crawford/Jeffers/Mack Wall/Crawford/Mack
  15. Agree w. both SM & Vishal... I'm liking the picks. Sure, I would have preferred Kanter...but we walked away w. Singleton at #18, which is an absolute steal. A guy COMMITTED to playing defense. I love the chip on his shoulder. Training camp is going to be fun to watch because of some of the position battles. Out of curiosity, is Vesely projected as a 4? ***PLEASE take Jeremy Tyler*** OK! Not mad at the Mack pick....
  16. Could have invited the Turkish embassies as well....I still think Kanter is our guy.
  17. I think the Vesely talk is just a bluff by EG. Usually he keeps his picks close to the vest and minimal info is out regarding WHO the team is going to select. I still believe that the Wizards will do everything in their power to move up into the top-3 (without giving up McGee). *Another thing...my post count has been stuck on 931 for the past few months LOL
  18. 2012 is when we should target a SF....not this year, and I'm OK w/ passing on Derrick Williams who is adamant about playing the 3. I've seen comparisons from Granger to Al Harrington. I think Williams is going to be a solid pro, but I think we can do just as good or better with our selection next year (assuming we go for a SF in round 1). I think Javale's defensive potential is that of Tyson Chandler...but he has a much higher overall upside (when you factor in offense).
  19. And this is why I don't think it would be too wise to give up on McGee at this point. I compare McGee to Chandler because it took Chandler a little bit of time to figure it all out on the defensive end. McGee is a bit different because IMO he's MUCH further along in his development at 23 than Chandler was. We've seen bone-headed plays from McGee, but we've also seen flashes of brilliance. There's hope with him. He's not a total lost cause. If so, EG & Co. wouldn't be as opposed to dealing him to Minnesota who REALLY wants him. I'm optimistic in the sense that I do believe he'll figure it out sooner, rather than later. Young, athletic bigs are a dime a dozen... Anyways...let me ask you all. Let's stay we draft Kanter. Where does Blatche fit in the equation? Do the Wizards start Kanter right off the bat at the 4, or does he sit behind Blatche for the time-being until he's moved. I know we've discussed it before, but Blatche on the bench is a no-win situation. He'll probably sulk and not give his all. We want to showcase the guy as much as possible to get him out of here....You gotta figure Blatche see's the writing on the wall if the Wizards take Kanter. We'd be awful defensively in the front court...there needs to be something else there.
