  1. 1. A throwaway comment that YOU labeled a "joke" after you were called out on it. I'm calling a spade a spade. 2. Do you know what Tim Duncan demeanor means (based off of what DX said)? Has NOTHING to do with his skill-set. It means McAdoo is stoic. Had you said he had a demeanor like TD, I wouldn't have said anything about it. But you just had to say "from the tim duncan school of bigs that know how to play." Again, c'mon son. 3. The famous rebuttal if someone challenges your POV "have you actually seen so-and-so play." You're better than that, SM. I said McAdoo is raw and will be a project for whoever takes him THIS year. I also said he'd be better served going back to UNC to hone his game. I brought up harkless because there's a reason why he's considered a late 1st round pick this year, and a sure bet for the lottery next. It's the same reason why McAdoo is a fringe lottery player this year and would be a lock for the top-5 next. 4. And I stick by what i said about the Knicks. They'll NEVER reach the ECF or NBA Finals with a pairing of Melo/STAT. Not happening.
  2. It's not just a center taking it to the rim...it's a center going COAST TO COAST. You know this.
  3. I'll put it like this.... Andruw Bynum taking a 3 and making it...amazing and out of the norm. Andruw Bynum feeling himself after that 3 and taking another one? Not so amazing and the reason why he was on the bench. Javale going coast to coast and dunking it...amazing and out of the norm. Javale going coast to coast and turning the ball over....not so amazing (and normal considering his past). Yes, it's the essence of sports, but you have to consider WHO is involved in these plays. Bynum, lesson learned. Javale....well, we'll probably see him try going coast-to-coast again before the start of next week LOL.
  4. If Calderon gets position and gets the charging call, we're all laughing at McGee again. We've see that coast-to-coast drive from McGee entirely too much with NO success. I'll chalk his posterization of Calderon last night as a fluke more than anything.
  5. LOL @ you saying "mostly joking." Hard to tell from your post...but if it makes you sleep better at night knowing YOU were the only one who saw the "humor" in that, then so be it. I have a hard time believing that you were kidding at all. I think it's more naivety and your failure to at least admit that you were wrong. here's your other quote: Of ALL players, you come up with Tim Duncan. This kid is as RAW as they come, but yet he's from the Tim Duncan school of bigs that know how to play. C'mon son. and FWIW, I didn't ignore what you said, because I CLEARLY addressed your point about him being a lottery pick next year vs. 2012. As far as Melo...you can puff your chest out all your want, but he's been garbage this entire season. NOW is the time for him to put the team on his back and try to get them from being a fringe playoff team. This pairing will never work and at their best they'll be no better than Atlanta at their peak. You can drink the Melo kool-aid all you want, but I'm sorry....they'll NEVER sniff the ECF with Melo/STAT on the roster and with Dolan at the helm.
  6. A throwaway, but you still felt inclined to include it in what you typed....I commented on something YOU said, but I'm the one making a strawman. OK. I don't think you realize how insane your comment was. It's fine and dandy that Duncan was your favorite player growing up, but I still question how much you saw him play while at WF. A man who made the 50th Anniversary All ACC-Team would somehow have a hard time cracking the lineup for the current tar heels team. LOL. Hilarious. As far as your "bets," I couldn't give two turds about a sig bet.....if McAdoo goes higher than Barnes, you can tell me I was wrong. If McAdoo somehow has a better career than Barnes, you can also tell me that I was wrong. And I'll do the same for you.
  7. Dude, you're insane. LOL. Duncan averaged close to a double-double to go with around 4bpg as a freshman...but somehow he wouldn't get burn on the current UNC team???? WHAT!!!????!!! I don't know how good your memory is of Tim Duncan at WF, especially as a frosh, but you're way off base. I seriously question how much you remember or watched of Duncan back in 93' seeing that you were probably 6/7 years old. This guy from the jump was one of the best defensive players to ever play college basketball. It was evident as a FRESHMAN. McAdoo needs another year at UNC, and whatever team that takes him this year is going to have a major project on their hands. He's not someone who is going to step in and contribute right away. PLEASE re-visit this thread in a couple of years to compare how he's doing to the likes of both Barnes/Henson.
  8. You can't put McAdoo and Duncan in the same sentence. Duncan left WF as one of the most polished bigs in the history of college hoops. Not to mention that as a Freshman, he was absolutely dominant. There is no comparison between the two. As a matter of fact, I don't even know where you came up with the "tim duncan school of bigs that know how to play." LOLOL. McAdoo has upside. I'll give you that. However, saying he's a better prospect over Barnes/Henson is a bit silly. FWIW, McAdoo is a top5 pick next year because of the drop off in talent between the 2012 class and the 2013 class. There's a reason why everyone thinks Moe Harkless would be a lock for the lottery next year, and is a fringe 1st rounder this year.
  9. McAdoo makes no sense (agree w. your other players tho...but I'd have Beal in that top-5). We can't afford any more projects on this roster. We need guys (draft picks) who can step right in and start/contribute.
  10. Anthony Davis Thomas RObinson MKG Beal Sullinger scares me. He could have a huge impact, or he could turn out to be another Michael Sweetney.
  11. FWIW, I do remeber that deal being discussed at draft time (McGee + #6 for the #2)...and we did obviously turn it down.
  12. The crazy thing about Davis is, he played guard until he was a sophomore in HS. He CAN shoot...but his shot needs a little work. Offensively, I think he could put up KG #'s in due time.
  13. 1) 8 man rotation FOR NOW. Just put guys out there that will A) respect the game and give you 110%. Give me the 10 man rotation when there is a complete roster overhaul and we get some guys in here that can match Wall's intensity/heart. 2) None of the guys you mentioned stand out as starters...this team can use an upgrade at every position besides the 1. 3) Booker, yes...he's in that 8 man rotation and is a player who SHOULD be here with Wall going forward. That's not to say he's off the table via trade...but aside from Wall, he's a guy who most good teams would love to have on the roster. Vesely, moreso than singleton should be in that 10 man rotation. Not so much in the 8 man (as of now), because he's too raw. You can see that he has a high b-ball IQ, but there are more holes in his game than anyone else on this roster not named Seraphin. Singleton, just looks lost. We see flashes of his defensive awareness, but it's not with regularity. He could have benefitted from some time in the d-league, IMO. His confidence looks shot right now. 4) For the rotation, my ideal situation would be something like this: Scenario 1: Starters Anthony Davis Ersan Ilyasova (via FA) Wilson Chandler Klay Thompson (via McGee trade) John Wall Bench: Booker Udoh Crawford Vesely Turiaf Mack Harkless Scenario 2: Starters McGee (if he's retained) Robinson Delfino Gordon (RFA) Wall Bench: Booker Seraphin Crawford Vesely Turiaf Mack Harkless Dream Scenario McGee Robinson Chandler R. Allen Wall Bench Booker Delfino Crawford Vesely Turiaf Mack Harkless *I didn't include Singleton, because I'm going to assume he's going to be a tradable asset to a possible suitor.
  14. The fact we have our team captain CALLING out players for a lack of professionalism as well as Blatche getting boo'd, perfectly captures the culture "the best GM we've had in 30 years" has assembled here in DC. SM, I'll get into your questions a little later on. But I'm all on board for trying to move McGee to GS with the HOPES of getting Klay Thompson in return.
  15. Hindsight is 20/20, but I seriously wonder how Kawhi Leonard would be doing in a Wizards uni instead of Vesely....granted Kawhi is in a MUCH different situation, but he was 10x more NBA-ready.
  16. If we didn't have Booker, Faried would have made sense. The two of them on the roster would have been redundant.
  17. I honestly believe the Adidas sponsorship will deter Howard from playing in Chicago w. Rose.
  18. Forgot about D-Will's impending free agency....you might be right about the both of them ending up in Dallas. *I think it's going to take more than Andrew Bynum to get D12 to LA.
  19. Obviously, but Kobe is STILL playing at a high level. That day will come, but he still has a couple of good years left. The Lakers FO will do EVERYTHING in their power to appease Bryant. They add D12, he'll play some reinvigorated basketball. Actually, reinvigorated is the wrong word, because it's not like Kobe is slacking....but he'll have more pep in his step if they do land Howard. Knicks could package Melo/Chandler/Shump/and their 2013 first round pick to possibly make it happen. I'm just throwing that out there, and I'm not even sure if the numbers match up. Bottom line, they have pieces to move, it's just whether or not Otis Smith is willing to take them on.
  20. Let me ask you...is Kobe showing any signs of slowing down? He's still playing the game at a high level. Doesn't matter if he's 33. Dude still has time left before he hangs em' up. And to clarify, I did mean the Lakers and the Knicks via trade. One thing you are not considering is that Dwight Howard is trying to market himself OFF the court. He's done a great job in Orlando, but he could have 10x the star-power in either LA and New York. Wizards don't stand a chance in hell at landing him. I don't care where you'd think he'd be "king," it's just not happening for us. How is there no room on the Knicks? If they move either Melo/STAT to go along w. Chandler (and filler) they could get it done. It's going to be a bit more difficult for the Lakers to do this via trade, and they'd have to clear a lot of space on their roster (salary wise) to make it happen. If Otis Smith is going to sit on any potential trades and let him walk at the end of the year, he'll be in Brooklyn w. D-Will.
  21. Wizards (or anyone else) won't make a deal w/ Orlando without a guarantee from Howard that he'll sign an extension. IMO, he's going to end up in LA or New York.
  22. Hmmm...I like all 3 guys you targeted. And I also agree w. what you said about McGee. It could play out in 1 of two scenarios (if everything works out) 1) If we draft Thomas Robinson, there is no need for Ryan Anderson....but Batum would make all the sense in the world. 2) If we draft MKG, there is no need for Batum....but Anderson would make all the sense in the world. I'm already on the Gordon bandwagon, so I'm up for doing anything to bring him here. I honestly don't see him returning to NO, and it seems like some bridges have been burned between him and the front office. Lineup 1: McGee Robinson Batum Gordon Wall Lineup 2: McGee Anderson MKG Gordon Wall Oh boy....I really like those two lineups...I didn't crunch the #'s as far as what I'd offer, and I'll do that later on. I like your thinking on this GB.
  23. As far as the NBA draft, I can't be the only Wizards fan that wants NOTHING to do with Jared Sullinger (as well as Perry Jones...i've soured on him), right? IMO, it's MKG or Thomas Robinson....I've accepted the fact that we probably won't get the #1 overall pick...but there aren't two guys in college basketball that play with more intensity than the guys I mentioned. If we're in the top-5, I hope we land one of them...if not, Harrison Barnes wouldn't be a bad option as well.
  24. I see that Rasheed Wallace is close to signing w. the Lakers. If LA needs some front-court depth, I'd see if they'd be interested in moving Josh McRoberts (and filler) for Blatche.
  25. Which is why I said this: I don't think it will happen, but Eric Gordon wouldn't be a horrible plan B. Let me ask yall...what assets do OKC and Chicago have that would be enticing to Boston if they are planning on moving Ray?
