  1. Cody screams bust to me. A finess bigman with meh athleticism and short arms...that doesn't translate well into the pros no matter how skilled he may be. I could see Proythess coming in play by years end or even Porter...but I would trade back if I could to get them. If you don't have a shot at Shabazz or Noel, trade back and hopefully off load some dead weight in Ariza or Okafor as they can be interpreted as expirings next season. Shabazz is big enough in todays NBA to play SF and his lack of playmaking right now would be masked next to a (hopefully) healthy Wall.
  2. Pacific Rim. This looks incredibly hit or miss. It can't have a worse story then the transformers saga though, or acting for that matter.
  3. looks like the ghosts finally caught pacman. Amazing punch.
  4. gimme the throw backs over the yellow pants 10 times outta 10. I want some damn burgundy pants afterwards.
  5. At the very least, I hope this gives the team some swag...we can beat a lot of teams in the league..we've just collapsed in hard moments. We have winnable games coming. This means nothing unless they act upon it.
  6. http://www.nba.com/wizards/news/wizards-sign-shaun-livingston This is a step in the right direction at least. Although, pargo has literally cost us 5 games at least.
  7. I posted this : "Ted, I'm not sure if you'll actually read this, but what they heck. I'm not that old, in my mid twenties, but I've watched 90% of every wizards game since the Jordon/Rip Hamilton days. I honestly think your ownership of the team is being handicapped. You've made some good long term adjustments and I absolutely agree with your philosophy of building through the draft. The problem is, and any hardcore fan of the game of basketball can tell you this, is that our GM, isn't one known for his drafting prowess. I like the effort Randy is getting from the team, and if this was a rebuilding year, I wouldn't be so mad, but wasn't it playoffs or bust this year? I understand wanting stable veterans, but what does stability matter if it just leads to more losing? Its easy for me to make judgement in retrospect but myself along with many other passionate wizards fans were terrified of the decision making Ernie would deliver. I'm confident a core of Wall, Beal, Seraphin and a potentially healthy Nene could lead this team somewhere (with some actual bright spots and improvement in Singleton, Price and Webster), but Grunfeld has mortgaged away the ability acquire real talent for this team and has drafted some questionable pieces as well (not all under your tenure). I want to buy tickets to go see the team, I just don't know if I can in good conscious as a fan fiscally support Ernie Grunfeld's continual failed decision making. I hope I'm wrong, I hope it all turns out for the better, and as a sports fan, I'll keep believing when every other logical fiber in my body tells me there is no reason to, because if there is one thing being a wizards fans fortifies, its character. Sincerely yours, A defeated wizards fan. " lets see what happens. lol.
  8. There a multitude of problems....if Ted is serious about making changes he's got to get rid of Grundle first. We're not going to get anywhere lamenting over decisions that have already been done so options have to be explored. I'm pretty sure when wall comes back we'll win our fair share of games to take us out of the top 5 in the lottery, and really, anything outside of the top 5 in this draft class doesn't seem that appealing or game changing. Luckily we have some trade chips of value. Ariza actually looks average out there, and good on defense, if he continues with this he could be dealt at the trade deadline to clear some cap space. I'd like to move Nene, but I doubt we'll get any takers so we have to factor him in as part of the equation at this point. Booker has regressed this year, its painfully obvious, and in a league where bigmen of any kind get overpaid for marginal play I don't think its in our best interest to retain him if this is all the play we're getting from him, coupled with his injury issues. The guy has the athletic and strength abilites to be a top rebounder but I honestly think Javale and Young's incompetence rubbed off on him. I'd look to move ariza+booker+2nd rounder for the best Forward we can find, SF or PF, don't care who. I'd also consider asking Minn. if they would be interested in a Booker+JC+Top 5 protected 1st swap for Williams. Williams has been ok in spot minutes so far but he's going to be a non factor for them once Love comes back. We could also give them center depth with Okafor and take ridinour off their hands to get a real back up PG. Lastly, Randy needs to make major roster adjustments with what we have. Seraphin is pressing a lot coming off the bench lately, mostly I assume because Okafor looks competent every now and then and he may be worried about losing playing time to him. Run the offense through seraphin, easy buckets, we've seen it. Bench Beal, he isn't ready for the starting role and he ain't gettin any love from the refs. Start singleton at the 4, he knocked down 3's last year at a good clip, why aren't we letting him do the same, his shots looked good from long 2pt territory, I find this part to be baffling. Price/(SIGN ****ING SHAUN LIVINGSTON  ) Crawford/Beal Ariza/Webster Singleton/Booker Seraphin/Okafor/Jan We need Gibbs to give em a pep talk or something. We've lost like 5 games this year in the last 2 mins of games. It isn't like the team got swept in preseason (i know preseason doesn't count, but as a unit they should psychologically not be this intimidated), the only good part about facing the Jazz is that they'll be on a back to back. Mo Williams always burns us though.
  9. I predicted we'd be either 1-6 or 2-5 by this point...There really needs to be a lineup change. Beal isn't ready for the NBA's best perimeter defenders and he gets absolutely no respect on his drives. We can beat teams...we just ****ing lose our minds in the last half of every fourth quarter. The thing thats going to be even more crippling...is that if Wall does come back...and does lead us to some positive growth...I don't think we'll be in a good enough draft position to cash in. Vesely needs to be sent to the D-league and emeka just needs to be benched. Its obvious we get our best looks when we run the offense through seraphin. Randy needs to stop playing these political games for the sake of Ernie and start the best players. Booker also needs to learn how to switch on pick and roll D. He's been atrocious in almost every phase of the game this year.
  10. The funny thing is...the Bucks might be the best team we've face so far...they just got beat by Memphis so obviously they want to bounce back. This is no gimme, but if we can keep jennings and monte out of the paint...we should win.
  11. You're referring to an article from yesterday. He got updated today and told he was on track. I understand being worried, but if he's on track no reason to completely lose hope.
  12. Calm down...he actually got positive news. He's actually on schedule and has no setbacks, for the wizards medical staff, that in itself is a massive achievement.
  13. He had a better game overall, but there was just some execution break down from all the players. I'm surprised crawford wasn't in to be honest, could used his playmaking.
  14. I'd venture to say even last year Wall would have us at 2-1 right now. I expect some improvements for us offensively when wall comes back but I hope the defense stays where its at when he comes back. Same for Nene. Seraphin will have learned a lot this game...He should have a really good game against the Bucks.
  15. Did not think we'd beat them...but as always its infuriating when we were so close, just bad execution. I agree that once Wall comes back, we got some real reason to be happy...but I'm really content with the way the defense is rotating. Boston does look bad...but our defense is going to keep us in most games barring facing top 5 teams. I will say, we ought to beat the Bucks, but Jennings is balling so far this year. Get well soon Wall.
  16. We can't be a team that digs ourselves into deep holes. We're missing our two best offensive players so we need to put our best offensive lineup to start the games IMO. Price Beal Singleton Booker Seraphin That lineup has the best scoring potential to start with IMO. I leave Webster out of the starting lineup for a reason. I'd like to see the bench be: Pargo Crawford Webster Jan Okafor The 2nd unit needs playmakers in order to be effective. While Crawford actually has been solid so far in in playmaking it just seems to be that by the end of the game it takes a toll on him. Webster has shown some ability to make the right pass, so I'd rather he stay on the bench and provide the perimeter shooting and playmaking ability. Singleton looked good enough in the preseason where he wasn't fouling every damn time, and actually making shots. I think it was a crime Ariza got the playing time he did while singleton didn't. Ariza should be benched until he clearly outplays our other forwards in practice.
  17. Just make it so they have games every day. Shorten the season if need be. It would be beneficial to fairly young teams like ours.
  18. I think Beal will eventually turn the corner but I'm worried about how the process will wear on him. Harden came into a fairly good situation with two superstars to alleviate the pressure. Our two best players are injured, a lot is falling in his shoulders to change the culture of losing around here, and that is unfair to Beal, but thats just the way it is. As far as how building this teams go...we're still missing our two best players, given the play of the opposition and our play in our first two games, we could, and probably should be 2-0. I'm not going to completely panic yet, but Randy needs to own up to idea of playing the best players. I'm glad he left Seraphin in when it mattered. I just hope the early work doesn't re-injure him. Oh, and where the **** is shaun livingston
  19. I didn't think we'd win this one...so it isn't as devastating...but its how we lost at the end...I'm happy they actually show they give a damn...wins will come...but its contingent on a lot... I've been hyping Seraphin more than I should but I think performances against an elite defensive team like Boston should give fans some hope...Although we cannot expect that level of efficiency from him night in and night out. Defensively the team is about where it ought to be, and will only get better once Wall and Nene come back. Beal needs to wake his ass up though. He's a 3rd overall pick, he's playing as bad as Derrick Williams did last year. That level of play is unacceptable for his pedigree, and randy needs to let him know it. Jordan Crawford for all his faults was the 2nd best wizard tonight and I think had he not injured himself we might not be so negative. And finally...Randy needs to make sure Ariza stays at the end of the bench...he is absolute trash. Okafor played like **** today too. Hold the veterans accountable, there is no reason Singleton shouldn't be getting playing time over Ariza... I don't expect to win at BOS either...but at the very least maybe not blown out. Frustrating.
  20. Leonard is a defensive juggernaut already at a young age. The problem is...can you expect the same type of development with the Wizards...as oppose to the Spurs? As it stands right now, Leonard would have been the perfect SF for us, athletic, 3 and D on the wing. He doesn't need the ball to be effective either, which lets Wall operate as needed... I haven't given up on Jan, I think he's ok as a player so far...definitely not worth the 6th pick so far barring Seraphin-esuqe like improvment mid season. Wall Harden Leonard Nene Seraphin would have been tremendous in the east, although I'm kind of happy we didn't pull the trigger on the Harden thing. One game against possibly the weakest defensive backcourt in the league isn't enough to crown him.
  21. yah for all the flak crawford get...he was instrument in our comeback. It isn't his fault no one else was able to finish. Wittman should have left beal on the bench
  22. It went south after his first offensive foul...one of them was obvious...the other I'm not so sure. No silver lining in this loss, this was one they should have won. People who I thought were decent played bad, people who I thought sucked actually played well. Okafor and Booker should be embarrased for how they played out there. Ariza and Barron actually looked decent. We need to sign Shaun Livingston now, that should be priority one until Saturday.
  23. Lol, that was infuriating. We went cold at the wrong time. AJ Price's 3 pt shooting in preseason probably fools gold. Crawford really was the best playmaker out there. Boston twice...its gonna get ugly. I'm mostly surprised at booker, played awful.
  24. Kyrie/Pargo v. Price/Pargo Waiters/Gibson v. Beal/Crawford CJ Miles/Gee v. Ariza/Webster/Singleton Thomspon/Leur/Samuels v. Booker/Jan/Singleton Varejo/Zeller v. okafor/Jan/Barron Kyrie is the only guy on that team that legitimately scares me. Thomspon didn't play amazingly better after the allstar break and I haven't heard many things from him in pre-season I like our chances even missing our three best players against them.
