  1. err, not sure if you are serious. Crawford is one of the most inefficient chuckers in the league. He doesn't fit well next to wall, and he would probably destroy any chemistry we get going with the 2nd unit. I'd rather he just not play, and if by trading him I can get rid of Blatche, I'm all over it.
  2. I would rather it be as simple as amnestying him, but if management starts to pinch pennies I see trading for Charlie as the best scenario we can come up with. Use him as an emergency big or something, he doesn't necessarily have to get PT.
  3. Pleased that cartier is back, he can be solid backup SF for us. His initial role should be 3rd string or maybe try to get him some time at 2 as well. Chris Singleton needs to show considerable improvment to not lose playing time to him IMO. Regarding Blatche. I would definitely pull the trigger on Charlie. He can function as a stretch 4 and his contract is up in '14. I think he would have to include incentives for Detroit though. I'd do AB+JC+'13 2nd rounder plus w/e filler they got coming back to us. Maybe if they've given up on austin Daye swap him with Singleton as well.
  4. I've said it elsewhere, Wall is a respectable jumper away from making it no contest IMO. Kyrie is a great talent and the statistics back it up. I have to think, the Cavs as an organization gave him a better chance to succeed early on. You are also comparing two rather different styles in PG play. Kyrie comes off more as a scoring PG. I see more Rose in Kyrie (except w/o the elite athleticism but somehow more efficient) than CP3. Wall will never be a scoring threat, I don't think he will ever average more than 22ppg, nor should he. The difference in defensive play is also quite stark. Kyrie isn't a bad defender, just rather average. Wall turned the corner in that department in my eyes last season. He can play lock down D and plays very good help D. His concept of team defense does need to improve, but with competent teammates in town now, I figure that transition won't be as big a issue. Still, it just comes down to Wall's ability to acquire a reasonable jumper, it is a make or break 3rd year for him.
  5. A lot of it is contingent on development. There will be busts in drafts, that's just the way the statistics go, but if you give players opportunity to play I'd say that chance goes down. M. Gasol was pretty much solidifying his spot in Memphis so drafting Thabeet seemed odd on Management's part itself if you ask me. The best they could have done for him was send him to the D-League...and for a player his size I'm not sure that would have help him. Williams is getting more playing time than thabeet really ever got, but again, the fit is weird for the type of player he is IMO. He was a dominant college scorer and he's been asked to take a back seat to Love (understandably) Pek, and if Batum comes to town, probably him too. I don't know, I'm a big believer in giving young players the right "fit" so they have an honest chance at developing. Look what happened to seraphin, he took advantage of his abilities and shined brilliantly.
  6. might be that, also might be that management may realize the "fit" of a player is bad. QB is also bad comparison, that is THE position in the NFL you invest yourself in, you have to give it time. Any position can garner a dominant player in the NBA. Probably more comparable to Devin Thomas (or any other young WR), the talent is there...but more than likely it will never manifest on our team...or in thomas' case...anywhere...
  7. Regarding D. Williams, I'd wait to make an offer to them. If they do end up doing a sign and trade for Batum, that is a clear slap in the face to Williams. If they don't Williams has some playing time opened up to him at the 3 spot right now with Beasly out, at least that is the way I see it. Williams isn't even that great of a shooter so I'm not sure being a stretch 4 is his best bet. I wouldn't trade the farm for him, and in the off chance their center Pekovich doesn't have a great year again they may be in the market for a center...I'd gladly deal Okafor+pics for williams. Pek is also an UFA as I recall and the wolves might consider having a contingency plan. Looking at it realistically, I don't see Portland giving up Batum..So the wolves may run with a lineup of: Rubio OJ/Roy Williams/Budinger Love Pek I'd offer C. Singleton, JC, '13 1st pic and probably thats it. Williams is a true tweener and I could him playing side by side booker if possible. Booker is also the better player right now, but his health concern is an issue. If it took Booker to get him, I'd probably bite but it would be a gamble...
  8. So I checked what the status was on Rush on a Warriors board...apparently he is the FO's #1 priority and some of the homers would be asking for Beal, Nene, Wall I'd rather simply offer up the MLE and see if GS accepts.
  9. He is a RFA, fortunately GS may be open to a Sign and trade regarding him, that is my hope at least. I think their rebuild will take a little longer than ours...I would do something like...JC+ '13 2nd round pick for him. Having a rookie on a cheaper contract could be a good incentive to them. They have max guys like Lee+Bogut with them and I imagine Curry will comand at least 10 million. Biedrins isn't about to use an ETO on his contract either (unless it is a team option). They also just drafted Barnes, and have Thompson... they are probably willing to part with him. Now to whether or not he is worth a full MLE: http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/r/rushbr01.html dude is a solid shooter, and has solid size. He isn't much of a defender...but given his offensive abilities...I'd definitely give him a two year deal. Wall Beal Rush Nene Seraphin that is a very offensively competent squad. I don't think we'd lose much defensively either. The guy shot 45% from 3 point land, when there really wasn't anyone to draw attention from opposing defenses...I
  10. The NBA would be wise to ban S&Ts when the next CBA is up. Or at least alter it in some fashion so superstars can't completely **** things up. Back to us... Regarding Lee, if we're ready to throw out the full MLE for him, why not go for a guy like Rush? At least he can play some SF as well. Would give wall the option of Beal and Rush at the wing positions.
  11. Dwight's adidas branding is his main reasoning for selecting certain markets. You think Dwight would consider competing against Nike with Kobe in LA? I don't see him going to LA. They don't have the current assets. Lakers would have to trade gasol for a temporary downgrade to like...houston for the assets to pull off the trade. We really need to push to be good this year. If we do make noise, we will attract some FAs. Cousins might be the most practical big man we could get but I want to see him and Wall improve some more before we bank on our future big three bing Wall+Cousins+Beal.
  12. Miami Pacers Knicks Nets (if they acquire Howard) All teams expected to be considerably better. Knicks are up there on potential alone, I assume they will kind of figure it out. Toronto also becomes a playoff team with Nash but I'm not sure where they fit into the rankings with him yet. Boston can be a playoff team again, but you are kidding yourself if you think an older KG and Pierce are going to get any better. They more than likely will lose Allen so they won't have their 3 point shooting to bail them out. While they did retool a little in the draft, I though they needed to address a wing player before the bigs. I like Melo for them, although he won't be a factor early on. Sullinger is a wild card, he could either incredibly suck, or have great value for his slot. ATL can make the playoffs with teague, smith and horford...but I think they'd be best served tanking, and going for the Muhammad sweepstakes. I would venture to say we are on par with all the remaining playoff contenders in the east, Cavs, Bucks, Sixers, and maybe detroit this year. I honestly see it breaking down like this: 1- Miami 2-Pacers(if they keep hibbert) 3- Celtics (i'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say they make a big push) 4-Knicks 5-Nets 6-Wizards 7-Sixers 8-Chicago If Nash goes to Toronto, they probably get the 6 seed and the seeding all falls one.
  13. NBA players will go right through davis unless he adds some girth to his frame. I see it going down to T-Rob and Lilliard. I think team success may play a factor as well. MKG is my darkhorse though, if he discovers a jumper I don't think it'd be out of the question for him to put up 15-7-4 on that team.
  14. OKC's biggest issue isn't it's wing production, it's low post points. OKC's big three make it easy on themselves in the regular season and pretty much coast to a contender like record but it isn't that easy to jump shoot your way into the playoffs. They'd better off with someone like Zellar IMO, especially if they amnesty Perkins.
  15. Ibaka is a glorified role player. While he is an excellent shot blocker you can tell he doesn't rotate well or rebound all that great given his physical attributes. If I'm OKC i'd trade Ibaka before I trade harden. As bad as harden was in the finals, Ibaka was worse.
  16. If Wall could actually develop a J he would be damn near close to a Westbrook clone. Now ask yourself, is a capped out team with Westbrook+Harden really going to contend in the east? This is all of course based on the notion wall will actually hit shots (I don't think he'll ever be as as good as Westbrook offensively). Even if Beal is 3/4ths the player Harden is, I'd rather have him at that salary, to help us contend and hopefully attract a REAL gamechanger in two years when contracts need to be addressed as Emeka will be coming off the books. Stand pat, take beal if given the chance or MKG and call it a successful draft. Trade Booker+32nd+C. Singleton for Houston's 12th pick and Take Ross. Dear **** I hate twitter rumors.
  17. For the whole trading up argument, I think it is safe to assume Booker should yield at least something in the 18th pick area simply by himself, if we couple in the 32nd and maybe Crawford we can expect....15-12 range...at least I would think that. If CHA doesn't trade their pick and we take Beal, I'd look for he best SF available at that range. We can buy a 2nd rounder later if we really want someone in the latter portion of the draft later. Most places have Ross going to the suns at 13, if we were to acquire the 12th I would pounce on the opportunity to run with Wall-Beal-Ross-Nene-Seraphin. If we can't acquire ross, I would go for either T. Jones or PJ III as a stretch 4 for us. Although I am just as happy sitting at 32 and acquiring Crowder. Possibly getting the 17th pick with booker and taking Q. Miller or Moultrie if he falls.
  18. If we draft Barnes, play him at 3, where he would be most effective. Don't make life harder on a rookie with absurd expectations than it ought to be. Incompetent front office alert. ---------- Post added June-27th-2012 at 04:33 PM ---------- I would have loved to seen his face in that exchange. If nothing else, we wizards fan did get to enjoy some quality comedy with McGee and Young, lol
  19. For all the praise i can give Davis, unless he puts on some weight, he won't survive in the post in the NBA. I think he would be in the bottom quarter of the league in terms of strength for bigmen. At worst they can expect an excellent pick and pop player with elite D. Cousins in the only big man in the league that could emulate Duncan's sort of offense, of course he would have to utilize his brain for that, that's his only set back. If Drummond does pan out, and he goes to Portland, they probably will be the team to contend with over OKC for some time to come. People really underestimate and forget how great LMA is. It is a shame he is stuck with Felton as his PG.
  20. Ariza is mediocre in all facets offense. C. Singleton's issue is that he can only knock down WIDE open 3s. Chris is an OK defender but he still needs to show a lot more on that end IMO. Ariza is a good defender but he is upgradeable. MKG's only weakness as far as I'm concerned is 3 point shooting. He is good enough at slashing and ball handling where he can overpower smaller 3s. He plays excellent defense and his hustle would be unmatched on our team. ---------- Post added June-26th-2012 at 09:08 PM ---------- Yah I came here to post the Gordon stuff and saw your thing...maybe I should lay off this thread for a while, I'm becoming far too anxious in how we'll **** things up, lol
  21. Well...they can still drop to 4, and get MKG as long as Ernie has **** for brains. Cha has a good deal here IMO, especially if they play small ball. Kemba, Gordon, Henderson, T-Rob, and Biyombo is an OK start for them.
  22. to go along with the theme of what kind of ball we can play. I see us becoming Memphis east honestly. Grind it out games with elite D. While seraphin and nene are not the same as marc and Z-Bo I think we can get better wing and bench play than them depending on this draft.
  23. I'd consider it, if you could score Ross+PJ III+ T. Jones, I'd call that a solid first round. I'd only do it if Beal was off the board and we really weren't that high on MKG for some odd reason.
  24. I honestly think MKG has superstar talent. He's 6'7 230, with room to add on his frame. He could be a slashing forward and grow into 6'8 240lbs with high BBIQ. If he had slightly better handles we could have a slightly poor man's young LBJ. Sigh... It needs to be thursday....
  25. I'd like to see those numbers in April+March. I feel like that is a better gauge of where the team is at then the monstrosity we had to deal with in the beginning of the season.
