  1. Problem with Lamb is that he doesn't have great BBIQ and he is a bit too passive. He does have outstanding athleticism and I think with proper coaching he could reach potential like... "If Nick Young had a brain" which would actually be a damn good player. That is a rather large hypothetical though. I don't see the point in drafting Austin Rivers..at all. He is a ball dominant Guard in the mold of J. Crawford. We don't need another redundant mediocre shooter. If we want a wing player with the #10 we should look to Terrance Ross, that guy has superstar potential IMO. He needs to bulk up a bit, add about 10-15 lbs. btw for people who haven't seen:
  2. I think his floor is A. Randolph. He has the same problem as Drummond, they are both physical specimens with very questionable motors. The thing about PJ III is that he still has shown he has skills to be a lottery worthy pick for the NBA. His problem is consistency. Drummond is a project pick. He has andrew bynum like size and could possibly just as demanding as him, but I think he is at LEAST 2 years from being a top 10 NBA center. He may very well be worth the wait, but in the process we lose the ability to draft a position of need, which we need to escape futility and make sure Wall doesn't sour on the organization.
  3. A lot will be determined at the NBA draft combine. We could potentially entertain different scenarios pending how certain players measure up. If T. Rob is actually taller than what scouts fear his value could really go up. He may already be the most NBA ready player in the draft. The only gripe with him, is that he needs to master the outside jumpshot. If he does, then he may end up being a 2 inch taller trevor booker, definitely someone who can start in the NBA on a winning squad. Davis is the clear #1 in the draft, and there are very few players I would trade for him. MKG's shot is odd, but I don't think it isn't beyond repair. If we go with MKG with the 2nd pick, we MUST hire a shooting coach for him. Lock him and Wall in a room together. At the very least we would play amazingly great defense. Beal is probably a safe pick with the 3-5 spot, he does add a critical need for us...I just think he has the least potential because of his size limitations, he is young though, he may pull a paul george and grow some.. If we trade down I'd entertain the idea of trying to acquire Terrence Ross who I believe is NBA ready in that he has a designated role running along Wall. Maybe an Afflalo type player. Also try to acquire PJ III, who probably has the 2nd most potential in the draft, but we would need a coach like Sloan to get the most out of him.
  4. The 2nd worse team in the league also showed after the all-start break they are building on something towards the right direction. Out side of a glorified pick and pop game Bosh would not add anything Nene already doesn't assuming Nene stays healthy. You are essentially saying trade every good player we have accrued, who all can still improve, for a player that will not get you out of the 1st round. I don't mind having difficult seasons as long as we're building a squad that can amount to more than perpetual mediocrity. If that is what you think we need we'll just have to agree to disagree. Even if Miami was willing to move Bosh their asking price would not be worth it. Instead of focusing on acquiring players that are redundant with a healthy Nene how about focusing on wing players? Role players are limited in their skill set. Seraphin has his shortcomings being that he is only a 2nd year player, but he is a two way big man that can competently start. If you're going to simply say he is a role player, at least define for me why you say so. A team that probably trades away their assets for Bosh would look like: Wall/Mack FA/2nd round pick C. Singleton/Martin Bosh/Jan/J. Singleton Nene/Blatche You seriously think that squad will be relevant? To each their own. Our best case scenario would be the Atlanta Hawks. I'd rather build like the Pacers, Memphis and if it all turns our right, maybe OKC-like.
  5. His production is down, but as long as he isn't the number one option the team, he has great success. While Bosh does give the heat the balance they need to be elite, Bosh by himself is no Elite player, he can fill up the stat sheet but we'd be stuck as a team on the cusp of hopeful 2nd round exits (although before the heat I don't think he ever won a playoff series, I could be wrong). While his pick and pop game does help Wall quite a bit we've seen signs that Nene can already fill that role. Seraphin is no role player, he made massive strides in the low post, something I still don't see Bosh ever developing and adds tough defense down low. What Seraphin and Booker lack in shear size is compensated with their strength as well. Take into account both Seraphin and Booker are on cheap contracts compared to Bosh's near Max money, it seems like a foolish trade, one that wreaks of trying to make our franchise relevant rather than building a contender. This all being, I'd make the trade if it involved Nene just because it is a safer move but Big men aren't an area we need to worry about. It is the one bright spot we actually have. Draft MKG, Trade Booker for a wing player plus a pick if possible...Sign Danny Green and throw some money at Ersan Iliyosova as a stretch 4 for us next year and role with: Wall/mack Green/JC/Almond MKG/C. Singleton Ersan/Vesly/J. Singleton Nene/Seraphin and use the our first 2nd round pick to try to trade down into the late first for pure shooter.
  6. I would only do this trade if we had the 5th pick, trade that and Nene. While I love the professionalism he has brought to the organization his contract and health is worrisome. I would try preserve our frontcourt depth, because it is the only plus we currently have going for us. Bosh is a top 20 player, but he never won much as "the guy" in toronto. His experience in Miami exemplifies he needs a talented wing player to take pressure off of him, which we are currently lacking. This move would just move us to mediocrity unless Wall developed a Jump-shot. If we have the 5th pick I'd explore either trading down for multiple lottery picks. I'd rather preserve cap space to make a run at Harden in '13.
  7. Every football fan i know loves the new sea hawks unis. Their old ones are simplistic and rather boring. I guess that is my gripe with these commemorative ones, but meh, as long as we win.
  8. I understand what they are going for here, in the whole tribute to the past thing...but these may be the third ugliest uniforms in the NFL next to the eagles and bronco's throwbacks. I imagine the older crowd would generally dig these more. The jersey's aren't that bad, but those pants...mah gawd..
  9. Asking him to be tim duncan is a lot. Duncan is arguably the best PF to play in the NBA. People may be setting the bar too high for davis, myself included.
  10. A lot of hypotheticals being situations being thrown around. Most important to the organization right now is landing a top 3 pick. Drummond is, as many have pointed out, the biggest gamble in the draft. Even if he is the real deal, he is at least 2 years away from being a relevant big man. Wall will walk unless we get talent that can deliver in necessary spots (although with his play as of late I wouldn't mind trading him should we get the right offer). Beal should only be considered a pick if we end up with the 5th overall pick. Unless he grows another 2 inches he has very little shot of developing into a big-time SG, no pun intended. Even then if we were at 5, I would consider moving down and taking a chance on a guy like PJ III (apparently he can play the 3) and trying to acquire another Mid round pick to pick up the best SG available. If we draft MKG you can bet he organization is pretty much content with the bigs that we do have, and honestly, we should be. If seraphin keeps up his rebounding we are honestly set at the Center position. Booker is obviously limited by his height so I wouldn't mind drafting Robinson over MKG but we will have a glaring hole at the wing positions. Eric Gordon might be someone we can pry away but we will have to throw a lot of money at him and even then the new owner may be willing to retain him at Max money because he needs the fanbase to be hopeful for something. Honestly Gordon+ top 5 pic for the hornets is a good starting point for them so I don't know why they would let him walk (unless they plan to tank for Muhammad next draft). Batum is another wing player that I would look to for the right price, if he commands 10 mil a year, it may be too high. The guy is known for being inconsistent in his level of play, that is something we cannot afford at the 3 for us, we pretty much bank on that either Singleton or Martin will actually hit some shots most nights, and we cannot afford that moving forward. There are some FA prospects that may be acquired for relatively cheap, OJ Mayo has been playing rather well as of late, and given that the grizzlies have a lot money tied up in their frontline I think they would rather pay Conley than mayo. Fernandez is a good shooter and could be pried away from denver. Danny green on the spurs has been playing well and more importantly, shooting well, relatively young and he comes from a stand out organization we ought to emulate. I'm looking for a lineup like this next season: Seraphin/Vesly Nene/Booker MKG/Singleton/Martin Gordan/Crawford/Fernandez Wall/Veteran Now..if you want to get creative I would try to trade Wall+R. Lewis for Rudy gay and make a run at Deron williams and instead of Gordon just try to A. Morrow or somebody of the like, but that has very little chance of happening :/
  11. I'm not hating on the man, but you have to understand the limitations the team has with him as the PF going forward. IF we can get MKG then this entire discussion is moot. If we do get robinson, there will clearly be a log jam of bigs. When healthy we have seen Nene and Seraphin do produce offensively for us and are adequate defensively. I would argue Vesly has show signs of improvement as of late too. Production among our bigs is one thing I am not worried about. I fully suspect T. Rob would produce for us as well even in his rookie year. Two places we are clearly lacking production from are the 2 and 3. If there is a player that we believe can pan out in the mid first round, you go for it. We could have a clear understanding of how this may play out but unless I'm mistaken the draft is before free agency...in which case we wouldn't know in which direction we're going in.
  12. no, but the point is T. Rob will more than likely give us analgous production to booker and supplant him as the starter relatively quickly. Booker is what he is, an undersized 4, hustle guy that is more suited for a reserve role on a contender. If you can trade him for a mid round pick and acquire a potential starting SF (something we are in DIRE need of) why wouldn't you? Robinson is a banger and will be a starter in this league and pending on how is offensive game develops, will have all start potential. Booker as much as I like the guy, has to fight through a lot to get there. His plantar faciatis is also a bit worrisome, given our medical staff we will find a way to **** his career up :/
  13. If we get the #2 pick you take MKG easy, I don't even think its debatable. He's going to be a solid 3 in the NBA with a ceiling of hopefully a more efficient Rudy Gay. Now for some reason we don't take him and take T. Rob instead, I would immediately look to flip Booker and our 2nd round pick for a pick in the 15-20 range if possible. You can find a quality wing prospect in that range in this draft. Or a guard w/e our GM at the time prefers. Some mocks have J. Lamb and Terrance Ross falling in that range they could be quality players given a season or two of experience. Sign a cheap good shooter this offseason like Fernandez, Rush or Danny Green and let em learn.
  14. Robinson had a better 2nd half, the entire Kansas team doomed themselves by not finishing shots at the rim, ones that davis wasn't swatting away. Davis is the 2nd coming of a hybrid of camby and Duncan. Dude is unreal. Also, T. Jones is going to drop in this draft, but he could be a shut down 3 in the NBA, he is a very physically imposing wing player.
  15. http://www.nbadraft.net/players/arnett-moultrie I'm surprised this guys name hasn't been tossed around some. If we can acquire a mid to late 1st round pic you absolutely take him so long as we filled the SF problem with the top 5 pic.
  16. He is strong for college standards, but he is going to go against competition each and every night that will be almost, if not more strong than him. While he does have lankier enough arms that may help him in the pros ur banking on a lot of skill developing so he could be a banger like z-bo. He isn't a bad headcase by any means (if thats what you take the beasly comparison to be). He just comes off as a guy that won't translate well into the pros. Another thing, Jefferson puts up the quietest offense I've seen in the game. Like I've never seen him be the reason a team wins (well except against the wiz this year, lol). He is also wretched on D. If thats all sullinger can amount to I'd rather take a risk on drummond. Whitey doesn't come off as a great man defender, his reach alone seemed to be the issue, he is a great help defender though. Its an odd comparison, but he needs to become crafty like good ole Jamison. He isn't going to go over anyone, and he isn't a world beater in quickness, so he will have to develop post moves analogous to AJ. I won't be terribly upset if we have to settle on him, I just think we can do a lot better. But hey if we do take em, i'd love to be wrong.
  17. sullinger at his best will be Michael Beasly, we don't need that. He is a true tweener, not something we need. He's worth a mid 1st round pick, but you want someone who has a legitimate chance at being a star with how high our pic will be. Sullinger lacks explosiveness to compensate for his lack of height and length. Whitey isn't even an amazing defender and you saw how he frustrated him. You can't expect much more than 14-7 out of him in the next level. Which does suck, cause I don't hate the guy but he isn't worth the gamble imo.
  18. If we cant have MKG take T-rob. Hometown guy who will be the 2nd coming of al horford imo. He will COMMAND attention, sign some decent wing shooters and create good floor spacing. He is a willing passer and would do wonder for us.
  19. if you have the 2nd pick you take MKG, easily. He has great work ethic and can still develop a three point threat. His defense and intangibles alone make him a upgrade over singleton. If we get the third pick I think its obvious, you take Robinson. Hometown guy, athletic, strong and nba ready already. He has a better ceiling than booker and could become a perennial all star PF, especially in the current era. I would look to move Booker or Vesly in some sort of trade for a solid wing player. Beyond that, Beal would be a good fit if he declares...Barnes isn't worth a top 5 but he'd be next on the docket. I'd trade down personally if we don't get a top 3. I'd rather it not be Grunfeld making the pics though :/
  20. I don't know how much money it would take to get Batum, but he is exactly the type of SF we need on this team. This was a good culture win. Lets not lay a goose egg against the clips now...
  21. saw this posted on realgm, had to post it here. Apparently the Taiwanese are the greatest sports news casters ever, at least in regards to their lockout coverage. lolololololololololol
  22. The refs really boned Booker in this game. He was playing decent D and griffin got bailed out by "superstar" calls. Griffin is still a beast but this game seemed rig from the the start. McGee is an idiot, he needs to be benched. The biggest travesty will be if Flip is back next season. Ted would be wise to fire him.
  23. I've been to games this year, and Blatche still has better D and O than McGee. As I said, he's played more active as of late, and played within himself. When he is healthy and playing in such a manner I don't think he as detrimental as you would like to paint him as. I still believe a lot of his performance this year, or lack there of is due to the fact his injury in the offseason hampered his conditioning and he was too dumb to do anything about. He should have sat out the first month and took his time. I wouldn't say he's selfish either. He dishes the rock out alot but when he's passing to the likes of Yi and McGee in the paint theres a very little chance those idiots are going to hold to it. I just see it different then you, maybe I like to think some of our players will change for the better lol.
  24. i'm not expecting him to win games for us.Thats the job of our star players. I expect that out of wall, young and hopefully kanter (If we draft him).
