  1. Your opinion is based on what the Supreme Court rules. So as of 2008 and 2010 or whatever ever case in the last few decades your opinion is currently the law of the land. What I question, is if the courts were to rule differently, would your opinion then change? Where is the compromise in this statement: "But I'll never hand mine over. EVER." ? Kind of similar to abortion, no official would ever change some people's minds.

  18. I've worked primarily IT my whole life as well and I've worked with many a security camera system. Meaning they rarely work.
  19. Yea... saw the Venus footage. Its really hard to see from the distance in the footage provided, but IMO, looks like maybe if she had better driving skills and instincts an accident could've been avoided. But that doesn't mean she was at fault. The other driver was going fast through the intersection, I assume trying to catch the light or something like that. It appears as if Venus inches into the intersection which assumes guilt as if she were yielding, but I think its more of a case of her slowing down because of the car coming at her which isn't the best thing to do to avoid a collision, but most people aren't going to accelerate out of danger FastNFurious style.
  20. With Game of Thrones coming Sunday, some more nerd updates: Spielberg is directing this movie! I have no idea how this book became a live-action movie so quickly; let alone got Spielberg as the director. If you aren't familiar with the book, this movie will be like a sequel to Pixels. It'll come out sometime in 2018 but I believe filming is already done. They were originally going for a late 2017 release but they pushed it back because of the new Star Wars coming out. The story has pretty much every nerd reference from the 1980s: computer games, animations, movies, D&D, etc. Having Spielberg on board though completely changes things because he himself probably owns half the copyright licenses needed to tell the story.
  21. At least Ted Cruz acts like a functioning legislator and in turn gets a provision that makes somewhat rational sense. In my lifetime I've heard a politician admit the government doesn't make things cheaper twice now and the other is still Ross Perot.

Bills/Laws in CA go through lots of committees, reviews, analysis, second readings etc. A comprehensive healthcare bill also has to have new taxes, new budget; things that would have to be approved in themselves as well. *Don't get your other question. 100% confused on that one.
