  1. Guess we'll have to agree to disagree, although I think the Bengals is a fair comp, too. I thought that if everything went well the Orioles would be a middle of the pack team. I thought they'd be around 75-79 wins if Cashner and Cobb pitched well and be respectable. At worst, I thought they'd be 68-72 wins. I certainly didn't expect them to be the worst in the league and certainly not one of the worst teams of ALL TIME. They won 75 games the previous year (but limped hard to the finish line, definitely foreshadowing how terrible they would be). IMO, the main difference here is that 75 wins won't ever get you to the playoffs in baseball. Being towards the upper part of the middle of the pack CAN get you into the playoffs in the NBA. You can actually have a losing record in the NBA and make the playoffs which, IMO, needs to be fixed (but thats a different conversation for a different time). So to say that the Wiz were expected to be a playoff team this year doesn't mean a whole lot to me. I'm not sure what the win projections were but even if they won 50 games and made the playoffs comfortably, would anyone expect them to get past the the 2nd round? There's no more LeBron but the Raptors and Celtics would still beat this team on their best day. Even a team like the Bucks (who weren't expected to be this good before the season started but are hot) would give this team trouble. Getting back to my initial comp, I thought the Orioles could have been respectable headed into 2018. I thought the Wiz could have been respectable, too. I wasn't even really taking the FO and coaching into account for that comp, I was strictly looking at it from an expectations vs. results perspective. I do like your Bengals comp though, I think it is valid.
  2. What do you think is happening now? This Wiz team is shaping up to be the NBA version of the 2018 Orioles. A team that thought they could compete, acted like they could compete, told everyone they could compete and then just **** the bed as much as they possibly could. And didn't just **** the bed, they rolled around in the bed after and smeared it all over themselves like they were trying to apply camouflage and go hunting or something.
  3. BlacKKKlansman, I give it a solid B. John David Washington was great, so was Adam Driver. Like most movies, could have done without the love story but I get why it's there. Topher Grace as David Duke was fantastic, too. Having him work in a bit about "making America great again" was a genius move. Great blend of being serious, moving and ****ing hysterical, I love movies that can do that. Spike lost me a little bit at the end with the heavy handed footage of Charlottesville, Trump and then the image of the flag upside down.
  4. Well it's cool if all NBA teams don't play defense until the playoffs, but if you're the Wizards and trying to win games with other teams playing defense and you're not...yeah. NBA would be much better with teams scoring in the 150s every night and trying to see who could pull off the most ridiculous ****. Basically a better presented And 1 mixtape.
  5. I'm inclined to say yes. That, or there needs to be some new standards/methods on how to screen mental health. Especially someone that's former military and has seen combat.
  6. WTF. If anyone shows a hint of mental health instability, take their guns. The fact that a mental health team had to meet with the guy is all you need to know.
  7. That Wolves/Lakers game last night was entertaining. Scoring is up. I don't think anyone should play defense until the playoffs.
  8. So you're saying...Hollywood = NRA wet dream? I wonder how each other feels about this. I agree on reasonable people coming together, unfortunately reasonable people aren't heard in society today.
  9. This sucks. Only the Dems can save us. I don't have my TV on, but it's screaming across the top of Cnn.com (And foxnews.com if anyone gives a ****). Sad. The Sgt. Sheriff that was going to retire next year was killed, was one of the first through the door.
  10. As a casual Wiz fan...I say this almost as an outsider looking in, but I think being a bit removed from the fray helps.... Blow it up. Trade Wall. Trade Beal (if the contract allows him to be traded). Fire Brooks. Of course, fire Ernie. Get some new blood in here. Trading Wall and Beal and detonating this thing doesn't matter unless there's someone new at the helm. This whole thing is stale. And it's obvious that this team won't be a winner with Wall here. I think Wall could probably win somewhere...and I LOVE Wall, he's fantastic and fun to watch play. But this team is trending further away from title contention, not running towards it. But one of the great things about the NBA is that you can turn it around rather quickly, you can be bottom feeders one year, and get back to respectability pretty quickly. From there, the holes are easily identifiable and you know what you need to get to the next level. As it stands, Wall's legacy will be a great player on mostly average to ****ty teams which is unfortunate because he deserves better. He just turned 28, time is still on his side. But it's not gonna happen here. If I'm Wall, I'm quietly and respectfully asking for a trade.
  11. Looks like @No Excuses had a ****ty flight from ATL to Miami.
  12. Doctson's TD catch was 3 years in the making ? Looked terrible for the rest of the game. Any hope of him breaking out is out the window, he's terrible.
