  1. I simply call the team Washington. I haven't typed or even said the name since they became that name. If Washington makes the playoffs, however, I could learn to like it...maybe.
  2. Too many times over the years this team has been undone by bad play, bad coaching, bad luck, bad calls, or injuries at the worst possible times. Here we go again. Holcomb and St. Juste are huge losses. Since this is one of those big games that comes around every once in a while for Washington, I was already not feeling confident about them winning. The loss of Holcomb and St. Juste just makes matters worse, because the strength of this team is its defense. For Washington to win, I think the DL has to play at an even higher level or the offense needs to take a significant step up. It sure would be nice if they got this W.
  3. Please stop. You bringing up interceptions is about the only thing you can compare among them. You are comparing a bottom 5 QB with two top 3 QBs. Compare all of his throws with all of their throws and the comparisons become utterly absurd.
  4. Washington's winning has had little to do with Heinicke. The offense was pedestrian to poor with Wentz and the offense is pedestrian to poor with Heinicke. They are winning because of the improve play of the defense. Whatever that means to you is what it means to you.
  5. I agree but it's mostly addition by subtraction. Wentz seems to demotivate the team.
  6. I have never said Washington would be winning anyway. I am shocked that Washington has won five of six games. The eye test informs me that the defense has gotten exponentially better since Heinicke became the starter. It also informs me that Heinicke still has a very weak arm, that he still consistently misses open receivers, and that he still makes boneheaded throws that are intercepted or should have been intercepted. I appreciate his moxie, but it is no substitute for actual talent. He is not a franchise QB. He is not the future. He is not the reason Washington is winning right now. That credit goes to the defense. He is a placeholder for a reason. Simply put, he is a poor passer of the football which makes him a liability in the passing game and to the overall effectiveness of the offense. Added: For skins island connection to mentioned Heinicke in the same breath as Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes is pretty breathtaking. I want whatever you were smoking or drinking at the time you typed your post.🙂
  7. When Taylor Heinicke is your starting QB, no game can be called a possible easy win. He leaves untold amounts of yards and points on the field every game. They are winning in spite of him, not because of him. He misses tons of open receivers and he throws or almost throws horrendous INTs every game. Look out if they ever get a real QB. Until then, virtually every game will continue to be a struggle to win.
  8. Over the years when a truly big game came up, Washington has come up short almost every time. Usually by being blown out and sometimes in close, gut-wrenching fashion. This is another one of those games! They have a chance to go to 7-5 (two games over .500!) after starting the year 1-4!? Make people like me believe by winning this game. I don't care how you win as long as you win. Don't let history repeat itself. Tell it to shut up and sit down. Because this is one of them ones!!!🙆‍♂️
  9. Washington having a good defense has been an anomaly over a vast majority of the last 30 years. They have their typically dreadful defense again this year. Eagles crush the Commanders 41-20.
  10. That 2-point conversion call was beyond stupid. These people love tearing our guts out with idiotic decisions.
  11. Washington is physically overmatched in all three phases of the game so far.
  12. You have Washington scoring 30+ points nine times. There is no way this team does that. It shoots itself in the foot when they do move the football leading to field goals. The rest of the time, they don't move the football. On top of that, the defense can't get off the field, so the offense won't have the football enough times to score at least 30 points. I get that this is a new year with a new QB and they have one of the easiest schedules in the NFL, but this is essentially the same team. At least it looked like the same impotent team in the preseason. Added: Best case scenario is 8-9. However, I would not be shocked if they went 6-11.
  13. It's mostly wait and see for me, but they should go 9-8 at a minimum if they can avoid major long-term injuries to key players.
  14. Washington never catches breaks or have good luck when it comes to QBs. Jim Irsay's irrational lack of patience may have been the break Washington needed to somehow finally end up with a possible franchise QB. When Wentz was toying with Washington's defense, I looked on with envy upset that Washington never gets nice things like Wentz. Well guess what. Washington has him in his prime. I simply can't ask for more. Especially if that dominant Wentz reappears with Washington.
  15. I don't know the college players beyond the first round like several here do, but regardless this draft has left me shaking my head. The first round is about getting a possible gamechanger if the opportunity presents itself. Washington had that opportunity when Williams and Hamilton were on the board at #11 where great talent collided with great need. They ended up getting neither. Hoping one of them would be there at pick #16 was a gamble and they came up snake eyes, in essence, for two 4th-round picks. Pick #98 is really the second pick of the fourth round. They leave me wondering if they know the holes on their own team and if they understand that the goal is to get the BPA if the pick meets a need or not. At least that should be the goal in the first three or four rounds. I just read Voice of Reason and BatteredFanSyndrome's posts after I made my post and I agree with them. I am simply stating my opinion. Williams and Hamilton may turn out to be JAG or worse.
  16. Washington is really not good at this drafting stuff. I think the Ravens brilliance balances Washington's ineptitude. Every year, the Ravens take the best player available. I don't know what Washington does.
  17. I wonder who the three teams were who contacted Washington about a trade. I suspect that two or all three were behind Green Bay. Heck, one of the teams could have been Green Bay. They were not going to risk losing Dotson, so they turned down the trades and made the pick.
  18. Besides who Washington drafts, I am ultra curious where these QBs go.
  19. I agree about the compensation not being enough. And considering that Carolina doesn't pick again until the 4th round, they should trade back if they can find a trade partner. Other than Malik Willis (and I'm not sure about him either), using your lone pick in three rounds on one of these QBs could be a misuse of that resource. They are a bad team that needs to accumulate draft picks to make their overall team better. Trading pick #6 should be option one. I would feel differently if they had a full complement of draft picks, but they don't. If they do use #6 on a QB who ends up playing awful or not ready to play, Carolina will be near the top of the draft to get one of the much better QB prospects in next year's draft.
  20. I don't think KC will have to trade up to #6 to secure Jameson Williams. The compensation looks okay for Carolina, I guess, but that is a long drop from #6 to the bottom of the first round. OTOH, Carolina could take one of those late firsts and trade it for even more draft capital. The total compensation from pick #6 would be a significant haul since they don't have a second- or third-round pick in this year's draft.
  21. My wife and I lived in Ft. Walton Beach and Pensacola FL for about seven years and they are the worst drivers we've ever encountered. We talk about it with amazement to this day.
  22. I saw it as soon as I read it, so I laughed to myself and kept reading. But Califan007 turned that lemon into some hilariously good lemonade.😄 It's funny when what we think we have typed isn't, yet our eyes literally see what we wanted to type. Anyway, I digress. Now back to our regularly scheduled programming.
  23. Koolblue 13, this is what Califan007 The Constipated was referring to with the post of Fred Flintstone bowling. Looking at Fred Flintstone's otherworldly bowling form, he is literally mind bowling...which is...can I say it? Mind blowing.
  24. I would not be upset at all if Washington traded down far enough to recoup a third-round pick then draft Williams if he was available. I would be shocked if they did it but absolutely not upset. IMO, he is the best WR in the draft.
