  1. Hang up the phone. You don't trade a second-year franchise DE the caliber of Chase Young for a player that you hope will be a franchise QB one day.
  2. If Washington is to have any chance at either Justin Fields or Trey Lance, the 49ers must draft Mac Jones which would be insane IMO. Then I could see Denver at #9 trading with Atlanta to get either Fields or Lance at #4. Cincinnati and Miami will make their selections at #5 and #6 respectively. Then Detroit at #7 is where the real bidding war for who remains between Fields and Lance begins between New England, Washington, and Chicago. Very little separates picks 15, 19, and 20. So the team that offers the best trade package will win pick #7. I think Washington has the edge, because they can offer one of their four DTs as well as draft picks. I can see this play out. But it starts with the 49ers inexplicably, IMO, taking Mac Jones at #3. NOTE: Neither New England, Washington, nor Chicago wants that pick to make it to Carolina. I can easily see Carolina drafting either Fields or Lance if either of them fell in Carolina's lap, because Sam Darnold is no guarantee at QB.
  3. With injured players coming back, with free agency improving these teams, and with very high draft picks, I think the NFC East is moving in a positive direction. The division will be much better and more competitive than it was last year which, IMO, is a great thing.
  4. I used the word "domination" not as an expectation for this year or next year, but as the cure for those of us who are consciously and subconsciously still battling years of emotional abuse.
  5. No, I get it. Most of the last 29 years of Washington football has left most of us with a severe case of PTSD. Peregrine's PTSD is obviously significantly worse than the vast majority of us. How quickly we forget the horrors, the hopes crushed, the embarrassment, the shame, and the countless disappointments of the last 29 years! Many of us are still shell-shocked. One question: How many times did you go into or were tempted to go into the fetal position after a bad game, a bad half, a bad quarter, a bad series, or even a bad play last year? Why? Because many of us are still suffering from the PTSD imputed on us from almost three decades of fan abuse from watching a wretched football organization and team. We were only 7-9 last year. Peregrine, like many others, needs to see more tangible improvement which can only happen on the field of battle. What we need to see is domination once again. That would go a long way to healing what ails us all which has been the losing of football games in every possible way painfully imaginable. Give him time. He heals when he heals...if he and those like him ever heal.
  6. IMO, if Washington wants to continue to have a dominant DL for the next several years, they must retain at a minimum Young, Sweat, and Payne. There are three more outstanding DLs to choose from among Allen, Ion, and Settle. What an embarrassment of riches!
  7. For me, the kill shot (pardon the pun) would be signing Scherff to a LTD at 15 or 16 million a year which would save 2 or 3 million in cap space. Then follow that up with one more significant FA for good measure. I would need a cigarette and some sleep if that happened. Actually, I don't smoke, but you get what I'm saying. Right?
  8. I would say so far so good. FA is not over and all three NFCE opponents have the opportunity to get much better having top eleven picks in the upcoming draft. OTOH, I was already thinking Washington has been one of the best teams in FA so far. They will retain their all-pro guard for at least another year, they picked up a QB who is better than anyone on the roster last year, they signed the best CB available, and signed one of the best WRs. They also got the QB, CB, and WR at very reasonable prices. On top of that, they may not be done with FA and they too have the draft to look forward to. So far so good indeed with more significant bites at the apple!
  9. Heinicke was magical and was a major problem for Tampa Bay. How many thought that if the Team lost the QB would have been the reason why? The Team received national respect for their performance and Heinicke (with an assist from Payne) was the main reason why. He was literally the only reason why. Starter or not, he needs to be on the team next year. Admittedly, the sample size is very small, but he could be the best #2 QB in the NFL and could be a short-term fix as a starter if he could stay healthy.
  10. I'm not a fan of trading away proven great to borderline great young talent for a draft pick unless I am absolutely sure we are drafting a "can't miss" QB prospect. And this is what scouts and coaches get paid to figure out. ADDED: I just realized I made back-to-back posts. My sincerest apologies.
  11. At this time, the best unit in the NFL on either side of the ball is the WFT's defensive line. I am all ears if there is a better unit (right now).
  12. This has to be the fastest defensive line in the NFL. Payne, Young, and Sweat looked like a herd of elk! And Payne got up off the ground and appeared to be at full speed after two seconds of running. Wow!!! That was impressive and frightening. Returning TDs could become something we see at least three times year from this DL alone. Added: And IMHO Sweat is every bit the athletic freak that Chase Young is. Sweat is a major problem for offenses. You have to game plan for both of these dudes.
  13. Actually he's more than a beast. A beast can be predator or prey. What a predator!!!!!🀯☺️
  14. I'm thinking they may be too good, too. Especially if the offense improves.
  15. When was the last time beating the Cowboys was expected? Are they that bad? It certainly seems like it. Who would have thought, based on records, that Dallas could draft higher than Washington? 2020 continues to be a very strange year. I'm still torn between wanting the Team to get a top 3 draft pick and making the playoffs. If they soundly beat the Giants, I may lean towards them making the playoffs, because there will be quite a few winnable games left. The offense is the key. It must show me something better than what they've shown so far.
  16. I don't know if this has been mentioned, but the Team is ranked #1 defensively in passing yards allowed per game. Kudos to that young and very talented defensive line!!!
  17. They were not teammates. Zeke played at Ohio State 2013-2015. Chase played 2017-2019. Based upon Zeke's post he knows who Chase Young is.πŸ™‚
  18. Zeke and Chase are from the same college, so they are brothers. OTOH, as a result of that brotherhood, Zeke knows the young man is a beast of the predatory variety.😱
  19. Here's a random thought/question. What if there is no 2020 NFL season? Would the 2021 draft order remain the same as 2020? If so, the Redskins would be picking second again!πŸ™‰ To avoid this scenario, the 2020 season would have to be played even if it has to be played without fans. If not, the Redskins should be picking #2 in 2021. The college talent is absolutely absurd at the top of the draft!
  20. I think folks misunderstand why Chase rated being drafted by the Redskins a five. Because there's a 50% chance he gets drafted #1 by Cincinnati.πŸ˜‰ He said he is the best player in the draft, so he sees himself going first or second.😊
  21. If drafting Chase is wrong, I don't wanna be right!!! Seriously!!!!!
  22. Not to stray too far off topic, but I 100% agree with your assessment about Mahomes in the Super Bowl!!! The talking heads said he was having a terrible game going into the 4th quarter. I profusely beg to differ. The 49ers' front four were all over him from the first snap. They gave him no time to throw the football. Their positive plays came from him scrambling for yardage/first downs or to buy time to make a successful throw. IMHO, it was one of the greatest performances I've ever seen from a QB and very few QBs, if any, could have won that game under the same exact DL pressure he was under virtually the entire game. Yes, he is a bad bad bad man!!!
