  1. He may throw some picks and we may lose but I’ll be happy if the offense moves the ball and scores some tds. Buffalos defense played well against Jacoby Brisett but allowed Big Ben to make some plays in the second half of that game. What I’m saying is Buffalo isn’t invincible.
  2. Watching Warner do his analysis was a good video but it’s easy to play Monday morning quarterback. Every team has plays left out on the field. Keep in mind that Heinicke doesn’t even have 6 games under his belt. Hopefully he watches the tape, studies and improves. At the same time, I don’t blame him for trusting certain players and looking at players that he knows will make the play, Terry and Logan. But he also did a good job of spreading it around Humphries and Seals. The one quick pass to JD was near the end of the first half with time running out so that should have never been in that video. I will say the one play where Cam is running to the post was a big miss instead of checking it down to Gibson.
  3. Are you kidding me? Giants put up 29 points and left 2 touchdowns off the field (penalty and drop). Our defense was Swiss cheese Thur. Im tired of not playing to lose instead of playing to win!
  4. I said this before and will say it again I’m glad we passed on that drive. I’m tired of playing conservative and it’s not like the D was stopping the Giants. Plus passing means that the coaches had confidence in Heinicke. If it was Kirk and Gruden or even Alex last year, we would have run the ball 3 times and punted. I don’t wanna see that type of p***sy play calling.
  5. I just looked at his stats from his 3 starts. Carolina vs Atlanta 33/53 1td 274 yards 3int 3 rushes 33 yards WFT vs Tampa 26/44 1td 1int 306 yards 6 rushes 46 WFT vs Giants 34/46 2td 1int 336 yards 4 rushes 6 yards 65% completion rate 916 yards passing 4tds passing. Extrapolate over 16 games and that’s something like 4800 yards and 21 tds passing. Not too shabby for a guy off the street. While I’m a big Heinicke fan and thought he should have been given a chance to start going into the season, let’s not anoint him the next Patrick Mahomes just yet. He’s gonna have some growing pains let’s hope he continues to develop. I’m hoping he’s our Kurt Warner with the same quick release, good accuracy, far better mobility, but maybe not the same arm strength.
  6. The point being that so many on here don’t think he has a strong enough arm, he was an undrafted player so he can’t be the “guy” and that he is so brittle that he may break a bone just from breaking the huddle.
  7. Look… whether you like it or not, Heinicke is our qb for the foreseeable future. I’m hoping he stays healthy since to me Allen is a career backup similar to Colt. Anyway we are fans aren’t we? Reading this thread it seems some are hoping to see him crash and burn because you know what makes a successful qb. Didn’t know we had so many Vince Lombardi minds on here. Let’s just root for the guy and the team and see what happens in 8 weeks if Fitz comes back. We can critique him along the way but you can’t argue that he has played well so far. Is he going to have some rough games? Absolutely but if he can keep us competitive as he has in all 3 games then I’ll take it and enjoy the ride.
  8. That int was a timing play and Terry got bumped off his route. While some can say we should have run the ball, I like that Scott decided to pass and more importantly he trusted Heinicke to throw a pass instead of handing it off. That shows the confidence the coaches have in him.
  9. I wrote earlier this week that the most important attributes of a qb is accuracy, timing, and intelligence more than arm strength. Heinicke has shown that in every game he has played. Some can say he’s a bit of a gunslinger but he played under control last night while attempting 46 passes. How bout that! By the way where is this he will get hurt stuff come from? Yea he got hurt against the Bucs but every qb can get hurt on any given play. He put on 10lbs this year and had a full training camp. I think he’ll be fine health wise. Last did anyone hear his response when Irvin asked him if he thought he deserved to be the starter the rest of the season? Rather than saying the politically correct well we can see how things go and I’ll try my best, he confidently said I do believe I should be the starter even when Fitz comes back. I like that!
  10. Maybe we didn’t deserve to win but a win is a win. We’re 1-0 in the division. Let’s be happy about it and look at some of the positive things from the game.
  11. Our secondary needs a butt whipping. We still can’t get off the field on 3rd down.
  12. All those naysayers on Heinicke, what do you have to say now? Guy is money!
  13. Heinicke looked fairly sharp yesterday given that he probably didn’t take many first team reps the last 2 weeks. He had all camp to get up to speed on this offense and will take all first team reps this week. I expect him to play well Thursday. I mentioned one of the attributes in a qb I want is intelligence. Guy came off the street last year and played pretty good. No one can argue with that. Yesterday he comes in cold and sparked the offense and gave us a chance to win if it wasn’t for Gibson’s fumble and Rons decision to punt.
  14. While I’m not a fan of bringing in Cam to start full time at qb, he would solve the issue of a short yardage runner. We could have him play in certain downs like how Lance and Fields did yesterday. He would help if Gibson struggles in short yardage and help keep Heinicke healthy.
  15. I don’t get all the hate on Heinicke? Does he have the arm strength of Allen or Mahomes, of course not. Jeff George had a lot of arm strength and we all know about him. I personally look at accuracy, timing, and intelligence more in a qb than anything else. Peyton in his last couple years had very little arm strength and threw wobbly passes all the time but he managed to get the ball where it was needed. Lets see how he does for the next few weeks and see if the last few games were a fluke or if he is adequate enough to get us to the playoffs and beyond.
  16. I’m completely with you. Murray is big, doesn’t have a lot of mileage on him and was a very good complement to Kamara. They are already saying he will be the main guy in Baltimore once he’s in game shape. I like Pattersons potential but he’s a rookie and has plenty of time.
  17. Whether you believe so or not, statistics is a big part of the game today and a predictor of how a team or player will perform. It is very vital in baseball and we should pay attention to analytics. With that said football is still a gut feeling or feel for the game kind of sport where passion and football intelligence plays an important part of the outcome.
  18. Funny when I mentioned prior to camp that Curl would play free safety, a few guys on here talked about how he was a strong safety because he took over for Landon. The secondary coach stated that both safeties are interchangeable so free or strong doesn’t matter. More importantly, I think Curl is on the field often not only as a safety but a slot corner. I really hope he continues to get better in his second year because he could be the biggest key to our pass defense, maybe more than St Juste starting at corner.
  19. I realize Barber is what he is and not many are going to be impressed. I love Gibson but he is still learning the nuances of the position and it would be nice when we need that yard to have a rb with experience able to get it. Obviously JD is not that guy and Paterson is a rook. I hope we can sign a veteran rb to the PS in case someone gets hurt or isn’t getting it done.
  20. He may not be in the world of Josh Allen but he can still wing it and he almost won the championship as a true freshman.
  21. Im a big fan of Jake Fromm. Kid has an arm
  22. I’m not surprised by Jimmy getting cut and stated it was a possibility a couple weeks ago. Besides the man crush we had for him in his rookie camp where he picked off a pass everyday, what has he actually shown in the last 2 years? He’s too small to play on the outside and not fast or quick enough to play in the slot. I also didn’t like how far off he would play off the receiver all the time like he didn’t want to get burnt. The only positive I saw in his development over the last couple years is his ability to tackle for a small corner.
  23. I agree Kevin Pierre Louis would be a good backup on this team but he decided to sign elsewhere so we brought in Mayo and Norris who looked old and slow against the Ravens. SDH just couldn’t stay healthy. Wondering what’s he doing these days. Im sure we will bring in a lb or two who has some game experience to serve as backups. Cross our fingers that no one gets hurt for the season.
  24. Im all for Paterson to get some playing time but I think he would be safe on the PS. I would take a hard look at bringing in Wayne Gallman or Josh Adams both got cut today.
  25. Obviously we will pick up a lb or two but all the backups were just awful in the Ravens game. I could see when they go to a nickel defense moving Landon down to lb and putting McCain and Curl at safety.
