  1. Thanks all for all the tweets. Keep em coming! So pumped for training camp in late July!
  2. It doesn’t matter. They’re interchangeable. The point I’m making is we need guys who can cover and Landon is not someone who can. With our front seven especially with an improved lb corp we need the secondary to be able to cover. I wouldn’t sleep on the rook Forrest too. Do we really need a guy who counts $15 mil against the cap coming off a serious injury? Take the hit and use it to resign our young guys.
  3. Just saw an IG post for media day and Bobby McCain looks big. I’m going on the record to say Kam Curl starts at FS and McCain starts at SS with Collins as a backup or being cut. I’m tired of how awful Landon is in coverage.
  4. If you look at my posts right after we signed Thomas I thought it was a good signing and thought we had our answer at TE. So 😝 I found what I wrote. “I said when we signed Thomas he would be our starter and I think he can be a real pleasant surprise. I’m interested in his development and him learning the nuances of the position.”
  5. This would be nice but I don’t think it’s realistic. Look at the 49ers trading Buckner. They traded him at the age of 26. I’m a bit torn on whether to keep Allen or Payne. Allen has better intangibles (leader on team, all about winning) but Payne has more upside in my opinion. I think they resign Allen but long term who knows if he’s maybe traded. Either way we should have all those guys for at least the next couple years so hopefully it plays out on who we should pay top dollar and keep. Let’s just enjoy our defensive line while we can and hope we can find another pick to replace one of these guys. Ionnadis took a couple years to develop.
  6. There is no way they should pay Schreff top money! He’s a guard. Guards are not impactful players. I know PFF had a high rating for him last year but I’m tired of seeing him get manhandled by big defensive tackles like Donald or Fletcher Cox. Put the money toward resigning our young players on defense. Guys who actually make an impact toward winning games. Last year showed us that we don’t even need an elite left tackle to succeed.
  7. Anyone else bothered by the fact Allen isn’t in camp? I know it’s voluntary but he’s still a younger guy and a defense captain. I hope it has nothing to do with his contract extension.
  8. The McCain signing certainly has an impact on Collins future. We’re not gonna stunt the growth of Curl by keeping him off the field plus we drafted another safety in Forrest. Like I mentioned Collins is a liability in coverage and with wide open offenses in the league we need guys who can cover. Our front seven is good enough to handle the run game. Remember the previous regime signed Collins. His cap number is $17 mil this year although his dead cap for this year is really high. If McCain, Forest, Curl, and Reaves show promise in camp, I could see Collins cut ala AP.
  9. Haven’t been on the site for a bit since Moses being cut and McCain being signed. I see tons of posts about what the oline will look like next year. Who cares? I’m all for planning on the future but it’s not like Moses was a cornerstone that we were gonna build upon. His best asset was availability but he was so ineffective when always being nicked up and that was often. Plus how many people thought the sky was falling without Trent. We did okay without him. With McCain I’m interested in whether Collins remains on the team. Let’s be real … Collins has not lived up to his contract and now is coming off an injury. I’m tired of seeing him in coverage, he’s a liability there and his best asset is near the line but his tackling has been somewhat suspect IMHO. With our front seven we need guys in the secondary who can cover the field. McCain as a former corner has that ability and gives us a veteran presence in the secondary with a young Curl, Reeves. If Collins is on the team this year I see less playing time and not being on the team next year.
  10. In today’s NFL rookie wideouts can develop quick. TMac is not an exception. Look all over the NFL there were plenty of receivers who made an impact their first year! Look at KC and San Fran as just an example. Ever heard of a guy named AJ Brown. Heck even DK Metcalf who people said wasnt NFL ready came in and played very well. The days of a receiver needing 3 years to develop are a thing of the past.
  11. Sure our wide receiver group is fairly unproven but I’m fairly optimistic especially if AGG comes of age. I predicted Sims would be our best option at the slot when we first signed him as a undrafted rookie. I think AGG will finally be our possession receiver who can actually win the one on one battles. If God forbid TMac gets hurt I think AG moves full time to wide receiver. And don’t forget about LT. Guys still learning but think he can make an impact.
  12. I said when we signed Thomas he would be our starter and I think he can be a real pleasant surprise. I’m interested in his development and him learning the nuances of the position. I don’t know much about Baugh but he seems to be more of a hback and Sprinkle is our only true size TE besides Rodgers. If he can somewhat develop his hands a bit he will be our #3 TE. Rodgers is a vet who could be insurance and Hentges is still a development guy. Thats my take on the TE group.
  13. Trey Quinn should not be on this team. I know everyone was hoping he would be our Julian Edelman because he’s similar in size and let’s face it because he’s white. I said last year Sims would be a better option at the slot and he is our best option there. AG will be our next up once he gets comfortable and gains some experience.
  14. My bad thinking that Rice took a couple years to develop. I just remember a lot of drops early in his career plus I’m sure having Montana throwing the ball helped get his numbers in his 2nd year. Rice was a first rounder even coming from a small school. My point is AGG will take some time to develop. If Rice isn’t a good example look at Jimmy Smith or Andre Reed or Rod Smith of Denver. All were later round picks and didn’t have to deal with Covid. My poiny is how do we expect AGG to come in and make an impact right away. I really think we need Latimer back or a different veteran or Haskins growth is going to be stunted. Turner better come up with plays that will move us down the field in big chunks or we will have a lot of 10-12 play drives and score few points. All teams need to do is double TMac, put the most agile slot corner on Sims and keep an extra safety in the box for whoever plays running back.
  15. Im very high on AGG maybe its rooting for a guy from a small school but from an attribute standpoint he has it all. It depends on whether he can pick up the NFL game and how long that takes. Jerry Rice, Antonio Brown all took a couple years to hit so I don’t expect AGG to be a huge contributor this year but definitely down the road. From what I know he’s very intelligent which will help.
  16. Here’s my guess on the depth chart on skilled players at least for right now. RB - AP, Barber, JD, Guice or Love TE - Logan, Rodgers, Sprinkle or Moss WR - Tmac, Sims, Harmon, AGG, Gibson, Latimer or someone who impresses in camp No way Ron cuts AP, wouldn’t go over well in the locker room. Peyton isn’t flashy but he’s reliable and stays healthy and Ron had many backs like that in Carolina, JD is our 3rd down back. As much as I love Guice him and Love will need to show something. I don’t think we carry 5 backs. Neither guy was drafted by this staff. They have no loyalty to him. Logan will be our receiving TE and Rodgers is our blocking TE. Sprinkle needs to step it up and Moss is still an undrafted rookie. I’m rooting for him but it’s a long climb. Tmac and Sims are locks. Harmon needs to step up in his 2nd year. I don’t think Haskins trust him. Prior to his arrest I thought Latimer was gonna start for Harmon. Now I’m not sure. If AGG impresses then Latimer is out. I think AGG has the ability to cut into Harmons time. He’s that tall guy we need in the lineup. Remember Ron had Funchess and Benjamin. To me Gibson is our jack knife player. Plays in the slot, comes out of the backfield, run reverses, etc. However like AGG, he’s a rookie so who knows how much either can really contribute this year especially with no training camp.
  17. I think ultimately Gibson will be listed as a wide receiver. With Latimars arrest, if Gandy can show something in preseason, I think hes in and Codys out which sucks because I like him as a player. i think our lineup will have TMac opposite Harmon to start with Sims as the slot. I think Trey Quinn is out and Gibson takes his place with Gandy as a reserve. Thats 5 wide receivers and probably one sleeper makes the roster. Cam has the edge but who knows.
  18. I agree. He’s 6’4 and has big hands. The average height of nfl corners is what 5’10? I’m 5’10 and can’t cover a 6’4 dude in basketball let alone catching a jump ball. And don’t sleep on Logan Thomas at tight end in the red zone. You cant teach 6’6.
  19. Will we see Gibson lining up in the I formation? I highly doubt it but I can see him lining up all over the field. Who cares what label we give him? Just find ways to get the ball in his hands and let’s see what he does. Besides Tmac we had no homerun threat besides a couple of Sims runs. I hope Harmon gets better this year but he’s limited. This guy’s ratio of tds to touches in college was amazing. Let’s hopehe can do it for us.
  20. When it comes to day 3 receivers, it’s all a crapshoot isn’t it? For every Randy Moss (1st rounder) there’s gonna be an Antonio Brown. I’m surprised no one is mentioning this kids hand size. Apparently they are 10inches and very strong which will help offset not having the blazing speed.
  21. If KOC does go to the Rams he will have little to no impact on the offense besides working with Goff. Mcvay is not gonna give up play calling. Of course KOC still could get head coaching opportunities ala Zac Taylor. If the Rams offense does well we really won’t know if KOC is responsible for any of it.
  22. This tells you all you need to know why KOC is not ready to be an offensive coordinator. NFL head coaches under whom Kevin O'Connell has served: Mike Pettine, Cleveland Browns (2015) Chip Kelly, San Francisco 49ers (2016) Jay Gruden, Washington Redskins (2017–2019) Bill Callahan, Washington Redskins (2019) Interim head coach
  23. I’m fairly happy with our new OC over KOC. You could say continuity is important but that only goes so far with a guy who hasn’t proved anything yet. What has KOC proven. Last year the offense was Grudens and this year you could say the offense was handicapped. I think Haskins development was on him not Kevin. Look at McVay, he went to the Rams and worked with a second year young QB Goff, who many thought was a bust after his first year and turned him into an pro bowler. Who’s to say Turner can’t do the same. I like his pedigree better than KOC. You can’t argue that Norv was one of the best offensive coordinators during his time.
