  1. In all the preseason games McTyre started I believe and played on the outside opposite St Juste. He seems more suited for the outside. I’m a little concerned if Fuller can’t play a game or two who will play the slot. A slot corner is very important with all the great slot receivers in the league.
  2. We really need to grab a backup linebacker. I’m not impressed at all with Mayo, Norris or Hudson as our backups.
  3. Agreed if Fuller gets hurt we have no one who can play the slot. Everyone else are suited to play on the outside. Unless they plan to play McCain orCurl as the backup slot corner.
  4. I said before camp that Jimmy needed to show something. He was like Steven Sims in that he sort of regressed in his 2nd year and that last game against 3rd and 4th stringers on the Ravens showed he couldn’t play on the outside and gave way too much cushion.
  5. I personally don’t like Apke as a safety. For a guy who has 4.4 speed he couldn’t get sideline to sideline well at all and his tackling in the open field was awful. I suppose as a corner when it’s man coverage maybe that will help him as he only has one responsibility. I guess we could do worse with him as our 5th corner. I do like McTyer. Did he make it?
  6. Yes but Atlanta is gonna keep 3 qbs even before McCarron got hurt. That kid Franks looks pretty good though.
  7. Thanks. I guess Allen is eligible for the PS but I think he will get claimed. Look at Josh Rosen getting picked up right away and he is awful.
  8. Yes that is the ultimate goal but let’s be realistic, back to back division champs and playoff win is the right direction especially after 30 years of futility. Also I’m pretty sure Allen is not eligible for the PS. He signed a restricted free agent contract this year. This discussion is pointless. They are gonna keep 3 qbs and I suppose you know more than Ron and the entire braintrust on the team.
  9. In many cases this might be true. If Mahomes and Chad Henne are out for the season KC is not winning the bowl. Difference is that our team is not built on the offense but the defense which can get us the division and with some decent qb play maybe even a playoff win. If Heincke was in camp last year would you say only keep Haskins and Smith?
  10. Not a huge fan of Bellichek but I will say New England does a good job of adds and trades before camp ends. If this trade happens then thats two already with the trade of Sony. These type of moves really helps fine tune the beginning roster and adds to draft picks for next year.
  11. Why all the worry about Samuels not practicing? Guy is a veteran and played in the same system in Carolina. Sure i5 would be nice to see him develop some chemistry with Fitz but I’m not worried. It’s a long season and getting him fully healthy is priority number one. I'm sure he will be the complement to Terry that we thought he would be.
  12. So this year’s man crush is Paterson and Milne. I think Paterson can be serviceable and playing rb is an easier transition but he still was an undrafted free agent and played at a small school. To me Milne is not a prototypical slot receiver. He is better suited on the outside which is why I think we keep Cam and AGG to backup Terry and Dyami. Samuels can play the slot but if we cut Carter only Humphries is our backup which is why I think he makes it over Milne. Remember if another team signs a guy off our PS they need to put him on their 53. I’m just a little leery about trusting a rookie with handling all punt return duties. At least Carter has been in the league a few years.
  13. Huh? Most 3rd down backs are small in stature think Darren Sproles. JD showed his value to the team not only as a receiver but also as a runner last year.
  14. My personal take on the offense is that we keep 7 receivers 3 qbs 3 TEs 3 RBs 10 o lineman I think the 7th wideout comes down to Milne vs Carter.
  15. Thanks yes I meant McCain. Original OP stated he thought Bobby could be a surprise cut and that’s what I was responding to.
  16. What? Collins is not Sean Davis of last year. Davis was a spot starter while Collins has been pretty much a full time starter in Miami as well as defensive captain last year. To me he’s not competing for a roster spot. They already have mentioned him and Curl interchanging between free safety and slot corner.
  17. Its pretty sad how some of you are predicting the worse after 2 meaningless preseason games. Fitz will be solid, he just needs to limit mistakes. Our recipe for winning will be fairly similar to last year. Strong run game and defense with hopefully a top 15 offense. Paterson is making the team and Barber is gone. We will only carry 3 running backs and 3 qbs so we can carry 7 wideouts. Did you see the backup qbs for Cincy? For those who want to cut or put Allen on PS, don’t you think Allen would easily be #2 on that team. I thought Forest was a lock but I think he is headed to PS. Did anyone see how bad he was on the fake toss bootleg where he didn’t even notice the qb had the ball and literally chased down the rb for 10 yards? He looks like a rookie. I think we keep 4 safeties so we can keep 6 corners. I like Milnes upside but Carter is making the team as our punt returner. Milne may make the team but that means AGG is headed to PS which I don’t believe will happen.
  18. I live in Philly and all my friends are Eagles fans. They will finish last in the division and maybe will be one of the worst teams in the conference in my opinion. Their defensive line is no longer a strength and their coaches are simply puppets for Lurie and Roseman. Watch interviews of Siriana, he doesn’t come across very intelligent and looks overwhelmed. They may have draft capital but don’t believe Howie Roseman will make the right moves. His draft history is awful. Over the last couple years Lurie who knows nothing about football has been more involved in decisions sort of like Synder meddling. It will be years till they are fairly competitive unless they get Watson next year which would be interesting.
  19. Back when we signed Steven Sims as an undrafted rookie, I watched his tape from college and saw the twitch you need to play in the slot. His flat line speed isn’t up there with others but predicted he would be better than Trey Quinn and eventually he took over. Going into his 2nd year we all had high hopes for him but frankly he just fell flat like plain awful and him dropping punts was unacceptable. Even in last week’s game he dropped a pass that was behind him but still catchable. I think his performance from last year is embedded in the minds of the coaching staff and he will need to show a lot to make the roster. I say put him on the PS and take a chance he doesn’t get claimed. Give him a chance to keep working and come back next year fully prepared to compete. By the way don’t forget Harmon was still probably not 100% healthy coming into camp. For a guy with little speed I’m sure that injury made him even slower. I think he will catch on with a different team especially next year.
  20. I don’t know how you can say this? The guy had no preseason last year as a rookie, played with Haskins and a limping qb in Smith and is taller and faster than Harmon. You don’t give up on a young receiver drafted in the 4th round at least for a couple years. I said it last week that Carter could be the 6th or 7th receiver but if Dax can show more progress as a slot guy and in his return game I think he takes that last spot and is active on game days.
  21. I don’t believe Allen would be eligible for PS plus if we put him on there another team can claim him and somebody probably would. If we don’t keep 3 qbs then IR is the better option.
  22. If Dax gets opportunities at punt and kick return this week I could see him making the team! We need an upgrade over Danny Johnson and S. Sims just hasnt improved. While Dyami isn’t short we still need one taller receiver and based on his performance last year Cam is making the team especially once they cut Kelvin. I like AGG but he will need to show more in preseason. I think he goes on the practice squad.
  23. Before we predict Paterson making the team let’s see how he does going against one’s. He did look solid against the Pats and Barber looked slow. With Lamar getting cut I could see the team going with 3 rbs and Jaret being the third guy. Hard to trust an undrafted rookie running back as your starter if Gibson goes down. I think Carter is our 6th wide receiver because of his return ability. He also isn’t a bad slot receiver. I hope he also becomes our kick returner as I’m tired of seeing Danny Johnson back there. We need someone who can take it to the house on any given play and Johnson can’t do that and Sims is too unreliable.
  24. Yes when fully healthy Dak is the best qb in the division but his injury is somewhat a mystery and even if it heals it could linger throughout the season. Cooper is soft. Lamb is a budding star and Gallup is too inconsistent. And don’t forget about their defense which was plain awful last year. Maybe Quinn can improve it but the only real significant addition was Parsons who I think will be a stud but they had 3 pretty good linebackers last year and they still stunk. Lastly McCarthy is not a great coach. If it wasn’t for ARod he would have never won anything. Plus he ain’t running that team Jerry still is. He’s the one calling the shots.
  25. I’m really happy to see the “swagger” from our defense celebrating a good play or the trash talking and Chase and Montez hoping to set the sack record from a tandem. Confidence and team camaraderie goes a long way toward becoming the best defense. Reminds me of the Ravens back with Ray Lewis. Opposing offenses were already behind before they even stepped on the field.
