  1. So fellas, what's the verdict here? Does this increase or decrease the likelihood of a sale? (I'm serious)
  2. Looking into your crystal ball, who do you think ends up with this team when it's all over?
  3. Then, according to the tweet I posted from AJ Perez, seems he thinks this isn't coming from anywhere near Snyder's or BoA's camp. Of course, it's just one take, but he's been pretty good so far. Tough to see someone who has destroyed value consistently for 20+ years make billions for his incompetency, but if it means we are rid of him, that's all that matters in the end.
  4. That would make sense if Snyder had partners, but he doesn't. NFL gave him a risk-free loan to buy out the minority owners that were suing him to get from under this albatross, remember? Does that mean Bezos is retaining Allen and Co at risk even though he knows he can't make a bid?
  5. Hopefully, we get some of that talent cheap via the draft. I'm not in favor of spending a ton of $$ on a veteran QB. Been there, done that.
  6. Good point. I guess I interpreted it as a knock on the credibility of the claim that Bezos is being blocked from bidding. Also, maybe I just don't understand the process but why would Bezos retain a firm if he was unable to make a bid? Seems like a waste of time, doesn't it?
  7. Take it for what it's worth, but AJ Perez seems to think it's likely sourced from someone not close to Dan or Bank of America: https://twitter.com/byajperez/status/1629569292688670723?s=20
  8. SIP - agree on the idea of a later round speedy RB. Would be a good complement to Robinson. Only concern would be whether he could block.
  9. I thought I had read that Broeker looked miserable at the Senior Bowl
  10. Was Trent in that game? I thought he was injured and someone else was playing LT for that game
  11. PFF has Tanner McKee rated very high. I know they aren't the end all, be all but if they are even remotely close that would mean we'd have to take him with potentially our 2nd round pick. I don't think that's a luxury we can afford right now. I don't know as much about the other guys but have heard good things about Haener. Unfortunately, he may also require a pick in a round higher than I'd like.
  12. Yeah, but who and in which round? We need OL/CB/LB in the worst way and I don't think we are like the Eagles where we've stockpiled picks and have the luxury of spending one on a QB
  13. How long does a proper GM search take and are there any candidates out there now or are we better off burning 2023/24 and waiting so that the process can be done properly?
  14. My biggest fear is that if no offer comes in substantially north of $6B, Snyder just decides to stand pat and not sell. That would be awful.
  15. I guess what I mean is that it's amazing that they've been able to compete for recruiting talent so quickly after starting a football program. VT and UVA have been established for decades and much more $$$.
  16. How did Old Dominion all of the sudden start producing NFL-quality draft prospects?
  17. Are your concerns mostly about reports of Bezos' managerial style at Amazon?
  18. The reason I want Bezos over the other guys, I have a feeling between his money and political connections that he has best chance to get an RFK-site stadium deal done.
  19. It begs the question - why haven't guys in charge of multi-billion dollar franchises whose goal is to put together the best team of players consistently miss this point? Are they dumb? Stubborn? Both? Seems like the free market would reward those talent evaluators/GMs that figure this out and weed out those that don't but yet here we are - just look at Zach Wilson. Most recent egregious example.
  20. I'm by no means an expert but my gut says that you go with the film over attributes/measurables. I feel there are so many stories of guys shooting up draft boards and being touted by the draftniks based on a couple of recent performances or, worse yet, combine results that get overdrafted and end up failing. The tape is key - particularly if it represents a multi year body of work and not just one hot year. More data is always better. Won't guarantee success but I think it would increase probability of success way more than measurables.
  21. I agree the league can bleed him (since they were the ones that gave him that "risk-free loan" to buy out the minority stakeholders, if I remember correctly). But would they have the stones to do it? To be clear, I would hope that's what they do if he does decide not to sell. I'm just a bit skeptical. Call it battered fan syndrome... Again. I want to believe so badly but I feel like I've seen this movie before. Just when you think a line has been crossed and they're beyond the point of no return, the goal posts get moved and we are back to waiting for the next crisis in the hopes that forces action.
  22. If not picking up the 5th year option means we can resign Payne, then do it. Someone on this thread said we shouldn't throw good money after bad - I agree. So what if Young isn't what we thought he was? History is filled with stories of highly touted "can't miss" prospects that flame out or at least don't come close to their potential. If this is what happens with Young, it wouldn't surprise me.
  23. But how do those draft picks typically pan out?
  24. Honestly, how so? In a lot of ways, he holds the cards - especially if the NFL has cooled off their pressure campaign to get him to sell.
