  1. True that - for the real coup for the fanbase was Harris and Co. as owners and GMAP as leader of the FO.
  2. Getting Wagner, even towards the end of his career, was such a coup for this front office.
  3. How about taking a flier on the kid from Tulane? I thought he was pretty good.
  4. That's not much of an optimistic view ... why would we sign up for that? We have the #2 overall pick. Best to take a guy who is the best long term investment. We are not a QB away from a SB or even the playoffs. Silly to draft a #2 based on who is pro ready but has a high likelihood of a truncated career vs a prospect who has a higher ceiling with the potential to become a Josh Allen or Herbert, albeit in a year or two.
  5. I have to say that I feel incredibly deflated that we are going to pick Daniels. I just can't shake the feeling that he's going to be a complete disappointment. While I don't feel like Maye is a slam dunk, I just feel he has the tools and physical build to be a more likely elite QB. Surprised if Daniels makes it 5 years in the league without a career ending injury.
  6. That would be a steal for us to take a guy that late and have him become a starting-quality LT
  7. This is why I hope they take Maye. The better play is to use the rare opportunity to grab a guy with elite upside at #2 overall rather than a 5th year late-riser like Daniels who is who he is at this point - very little upside. That likely means the FO has to have patience in developing the QB but we have the infrastructure in place to do that now and AP has said in interviews he doesn't feel like they need to rush any rookie into the game before he's ready. I really, really hope this means they take the chance on Maye and let him sit for a few games/half the season. The reality is that this team isn't a QB away from a SB contender so it's best to roll with Mariotta and work on getting the QB ready behind the scenes while the rest of the roster gets acclimated to the new coaching/culture.
  8. Was being purposefully snarky More realistic bear case is that he comes in between 190-200. I think that would still raise some red flags about durability given his playing style.
  9. I'm more than OK with this. Even the most elite of QBs have benefitted from sitting for at least a part of the season before being thrown into the fire. CJ Stroud is the exception, not the rule.
  10. I'm no expert on talent evaluation but my gut agrees with your take. I think Maye just looks the part (I like Daniel's production but at the end of the day, his build and lack of passes in the middle of the field are too much for me).
  11. I'd rather not trade anything. For us, the draft picks are just too valuable. But yeah, FS could be a good one. Luckily, we were able to grab a couple of CB already. Does this guy even know what he's talking about? Advocating for tying up a roster spot with a QB4?
  12. The reality is that we won't be asking Ekeler to be "the guy". We have a bell cow already in BRob. Ekeler just needs to be the guy he was when he was playing with Melvin Gordon III.
