  1. Thanks GC. Yeah, I figure at least one of those four is gone in the 1st as I expect the big three edges to be all drafted by the end of the teens. Arizona needs an edge, so they could take another one with either of their late 1st/early 2nd. We might be forced to take the last man standing at 36. I'm not sure why Elliss isn't more highly thought of in the draftnik community. I think the draftnik community is overrating the 2nd tier WRs (after the big 4) and expecting a run on them. You can find WRs later in the draft. You really can't find good edges.
  2. How would you rate the 2nd tier edges of Robinson, Trice, Braswell, and Ellis? It seems like Robinson has a got rocket to his stock after the senior bowl week.
  3. WR isn't a pressing need IMO. Sure, I'd like to add a WR, but our money must be devoted to the OL and edge positions. Heck, we might resign Curtis if it comes to it. CB frankly isn't deep in FA, but it might be a code red position as well.
  4. I think we MUST come away with our 2nd rounders with OL and edge. We have nothing at edge right now. Now, I think we'll sign a pass rusher in FA, but we still need more depth. Obviously OL doesn't need to be explained. Now, I could see us trading back from one of our 2nds in my scenario to a Nix/Penix loving team. Still, the 2nd rounders have to be dedicated towards the OL and edge. The 3rd rounders could be wildcards, but I expect that high 3rd rounder to be a CB IMO. I didn't want to be cheerleader. I'd love to get Barton, but I was trying to be realistic. Ditto Latham. Morgan, I'm not that high on as I see him as a G due to his bad arm length. Now Shanny might not care about that, but everyone else probably does.
  5. Thanks for the positive feedback. Yeah, I think NO desperately needs OL help as Peat is a FA, Ramzyk might retire due to injuries, and Penning might be a bust. Guyton got the nod over Fuaga there because of his LT potential. Saints gamble on the upside. Jaguars are tricky to determine what they want. Their GM said they'll focus on the trenches. Apparently, their IOL was trash last year. Fautanu could step right away at G. They could cut Scherff apparently post June 1 to save some money. I'd trade up for Latham in this scenario, but trades are hard to predict. I think the Chargers (someone moving up for Nabers) and Denver (lack picks) are the most motivated sellers in this draft. Yeah, its just that I figure he's RT only, so Guyton, Fautanu get the edge over him in the pecking order. I'd move up too in this scenario.
  6. My first top 40 mock of the season (no trades) pre combine pre FA: Assumptions: Kirk resigns in Minny, Russell Wilson to Vegas, Fields traded to Pittsburgh. ROUND 1: 1). Chicago (from Carolina)__Caleb Williams (Obviously the Bears will take Caleb) 2). Washington__Drake Maye (I still say we take Maye) 3). New England__Jayden Daniels (Will take whomever is left) 4). Arizona__Marvin Harrison Jr (Will take WR here) 5). Los Angeles__Malik Nabers (I think they want to trade down desperately) 6). New York Giants__Rome Odunze (NYG settles for Odunze) 7). Tennessee__Joe Alt (Went back and forth here, but settled on Alt for the Titans) 8. Atlanta__JJ McCarthy (Have to take QB here if they don't upgrade in the off-season) 9). Chicago__Brock Bowers (BPA) 10). New York Jets__Olu Fashanu (Need OL help everywhere. Could be Fuaga if Fashanu is off the board) 11). Minnesota__Dallas Turner (Hunter could be gone in FA) 12). Denver__Byron Murphy (Will be the most motivated trade-down team in the draft. At this stage, they take BPA). 13). Las Vegas__Terrion Arnold (No QB worthy to take here. They go for CB1) 14). New Orleans__Tyler Guyton (Ramzyk might be forced to retire. Penning hasn't worked out. Need OL help). 15). Indianapolis__Jared Verse (Edge is a huge need) 16). Seattle__Laiai Latu (Was hoping for Murphy. Settles on getting an edge) 17). Jacksonville__Troy Fautanu (Their FO has emphasized improving the IOL. Scherff could be a cut candidate). 18). Cincinnati__Taliese Fuaga (They have cap money to spend upgrading the defense (including DT). Fuaga could go as high as 10 to NYJ). 19). Los Angeles Rams__Quinyon Mitchell (CB is arguably the #1 need area). 20). Pittsburgh__Jackson Powers-Johnson (If JPJ isn't here, than Barton could be the pick). 21). Miami__Darius Robinson (Both edges are coming off ACL injuries). 22). Philadelphia__Nate Wiggins (Would like a young edge, but can't pass on Wiggins). 23). Houston__Brian Thomas Jr (Adds a deep threat for CJ). 24). Dallas__Jer'Zhan Newton (Mazi Smith was a major disappointment last year. Could be OL as well). 25). Green Bay__Cooper Dejean (All Safeties are FAs) 26). Tampa Bay__Graham Barton (IOL is a major need area). 27). Arizona (from Houston)__JC Latham (Could play RT right and slide Paris Johnson to LT). 28). Buffalo__Chop Robinson (Edge is a huge need area with only Russeau assured to be back). 29). Detroit__Ennis Rakestraw (I think they will be a team looking to trade up for one of the top 3 CBs) 30). Baltimore__Amarius Mims (Moses looked really bad at the end of the year. Ronnie Stanley can't be counted on to stay healthy. Mims slides due to his own injury concerns and lack of durability in college). 31). San Francisco__Jordan Morgan (Fits the Shanny style OL to a tee. Lack of arm length isn't a concern as they prefer athleticism. Will start at RT). 32). Kansas City__Ladd McConkey (Is this the year KC goes WR?). ROUND 2: 33). Carolina__Keon Coleman (Have to get more weapons for Bryce). 34). Arizona__Braylan Trice (Nice to get a young edge here). 35). New England__Kingsley Summitaia (Tackle is a huge need area as Owenwu could leave in FA). 36). Washington__Chris Braswell (Edge and OL are huge need areas). 37). Los Angeles Chargers__T'vondre Sweat (Might be limited as a two-down player, but their DTs have been trash). 38). Tennessee__Kool-Aid McKinstry (Both starters are FAs) 39). New York Giants__Tyler Nubin (McKinney is a FA). 40). Washington (from Chicago)__Cooper Bebee (Will start at LG day 1).
  7. Yeah, that's true. I figure we will sign an edge (at least one) in FA for sure. Ditto OL. That's where our cap dollars will be allocated.
  8. I figure our picks assuming no trades will be qb (round 1), edge and OL (round 2). After that, it is BPA (although lb has to be the strongest consideration for r3)
  9. can’t find the link to the interview, but here’s an article about what Mayo said… https://syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/10105593-jerod-mayo-patriots-will-draft-best-player-for-a-position-thats-very-important.amp.html That’s clear as day that they will take a Qb.
  10. I can’t see NE passing up Daniel’s/Maye at 3. It would be suicide to do so. Heck Mayo even said they were basically taking a qb at 3 when he got hired. If for some reason NE traded down to 6, they’d take JJ at 6
  11. If LAC passes on Bowers, I could see him dropping to that 10-15 range. Chicago might pounce assuming the top 3 WRs are gone. Kmet is OK, but he's no Bowers. I think Verse ends up being Edge 2. Latu has the medical issues while Turner ends up being Edge 1. New Orleans needs an infusion of young edge rushing talent on that aging defense.
  12. Yeah, but I'd argue that when Holcombe went down in 2022, the run defense improved dramatically with...gulp...Bostic in. Holcombe was a terrible run defender here. I'm glad we didn't resign him. Barton was trash to be true.
  13. If he's that good, Maybe LAC takes him with their 3rd round pick? Ditto Corum considering Ekelar may be gone.
  14. The thing is that whomever is the 3rd RB MUST be able to play teams. B-Rob isn't playing it. Rodriguez probably bumps to the #2 power back and he did play some teams last year. That is a feature that we all need to look for.
  15. I figure the following are locks to be gone before #36: OFFENSE (16) QBs (4): Caleb, Drake, Jayden, JJ TE (1): Bowers WR (4): MHJ, Nabers, Odunze, Thomas T (5): Alt, Fuaga, Fashanu, Latham, Guyton (too much love going on about him in the draftnik world to see him slip) IOL (2): JPJ, Fautanu DEFENSE (8): DT (1): Murphy Edge (3): Turner, Verse, Latu CB (3): Arnold, Mitchelll, Wiggins S (1): DeJean Now, guys like Braswell, Barton, etc could easily be first rounders, but the above list are lock first rounders IMO unless I'm missing someone. The interesting RT prospect who could fall Mimms. His injury history could cause him to slip to 36.
  16. I don’t we have a shot at Wiggins. He’s at worst CB3 and is battling Mitchell and Arnold for CB1 and 2. if we’re spending big on OL, I want Onwenwu to play RT
  17. Russ is gone. He probably goes to LV for the vet minimum since the Broncos are on the hook for all the money since he can't double dip. LV is too far away from the QBs in the draft. Fields is either traded to Pittsburgh or Atlanta IMO. Kirk is choosing between Atlanta and Minny. Baker resigns in Tampa. Denver will sign a vet, but I have no idea whom. They could also draft McCarthy, but I think JJ may get taken by Atlanta at 8 honestly. Many of these questions will get decided in FA.
  18. I think we'll trade down from one of our early 2nds for sure. If Nix is there at 36, we could have a trade down situation. Carolina may be tempted to trade down at 33 since they'd like some extra picks to make up for the lack of #1. I don't see Arizona trading down since they have so many picks. NE probably doesn't either since they'd take BPA along the OL.
  19. Barton could potentially be there at 36. The fact that he's got experience everywhere along the OL is a plus. If Stromberg balls out, we could slide Barton at LG and have a strong interior. I don't think JPJ slides out of the first round. His ceiling is 20 to Pittsburgh.
  20. I think that is more Shanny than Peters. Shanny has always had OL that prefers athleticism vs power. That system masks the fact that they can't play drop-back passing at all. Their RT play is usually poor. It was here when Shanny was the coach. Trent is the only OL on that team who could play anywhere.
  21. I think there is an outside shot he goes to Buffalo with their late 1st. They need a WR with Davis likely leaving in FA and Diggs near the end. Coleman may end up as WR5 (after the big 3 and Brian Thomas). Plus, his size would help him with sometimes errant throws from Josh Allen.
  22. We have to get at least one high-dollar FA for the OL (Onwenwu, Hunt, etc).
  23. For the most part teams have been good with Kaczor. I can't blame him on the long-snapping issues. That was probably Ron trying to save face for the draft pick. Way is Way, and Slye is solid with a big leg.
  24. Philly won't take him. They have Cam Jurgens to slide over to C for Kelce.
