  1. No way will NYG franchise Barkley. It would idiotic to do so. Who is going to sign him for big bucks? They could just draft Corum with their Seattle 1st and save money if they need a replacement.
  2. My #1 FA target would be the Carolina LB Frankie Luvu. I also think we will target multiple edge rushers in FA (there are many of them). I think we are forced to draft at least one OL with our 2nd rounders. The FA isn't great unless we want to gamble on Tyron Smith (ala when the Rams signed Whitworth late in his career).
  3. Atlanta is in an interesting spot. Normally, I'd say Vrabel would be perfect there, but he's not going to replace his buddy Arthur Smith. Belichick makes sense because they play in a crappy division without any elite QBs. He can win right away there. The issue is who can Atlanta get? If I were them, I'd back up the brinks truck for Kirk if I can. If we hire Ben Johnson as coach, I wonder who he would hire as his DC? It's the biggest decision he can make.
  4. No way does Carolina not franchise him if they can't extend him. Tepper isn't going to let go of someone like Burns.
  5. To win in the NBA, you MUST have a top 10 NBA player at least. The best way to obtain said player is to tank. Stern screwed them by imposing Colangelo as their GM (the Vinny Cerrato of the NBA) and replacing Sam Henke because they were taking too hard. Well, they eventually got a top 10 player in Embiid and if Colangelo didn't screw up trading for Fultz instead of Tatum, Philly might have a title by now. He's way better than the Wizards owner who for years decided that going for the 8th seed was good enough.
  6. NO WAY Falcons go skill four years in a row. It is either a QB or anything on defense.
  7. If I were Vrabel, I’d go to look at either NE or Atlanta. Tennessee is kind of the worst job (even Carolina is better) out there. They don’t have their 3rd round pick, have to play against Stroud, Lawrence, and Richardson yearly. At least Carolina and Atlanta play in a crappy division.
  8. For those who want extra picks (I think there is ZERO chance we move down from #2), here are some example trade downs of early 2nd rounders from past drafts: 2023: 1). Arizona trades #33+#81 for #41+#72+future 3rd round pick (Titans moved up for QB Will Levis) 2). LV trades #35 for #38+5th rounder (#141) 3). Indy trades #38 for #44+4th rounder (#110) 2022: 1). Minnesota trades #34 for #53+#59 2). NYG trades #36 for #38+5th rounder (#146) Depends on circumstances, but I can see the new analytically minded FO trying to trade down from one of those 2nds.
  9. Never understood why Mayo & Barton were ahead of him once Jamin went to IR. I know he's smaller than those cats, but he can at least cover (something Mayo was allergic too).
  10. Yup. Busted big time in Vegas. Even now, NE couldn’t handle him anymore. Keep Leno. He’s average, but competent and paid at a reasonable rate. He wasn’t the issue this a year. LG and C were much more the problem
  11. Maybe a stronger armed Tony Romo is a good comparison? Romo had elite pocket presence who bought time.

I think its a lock that it is a primetime/national TV game.
  13. I wouldn't say he was better than Jay. Jay could coach offense. He's way better play caller than EB turned out to be.
  14. The OL has a ton of draftable players. Off the top of my head, there is going to be (in no particular order): 1). Fashanu 2). Alt 3). Latham 4). Fauga 5). Mimms 6). Morgan 7). Guyton 8. Fashanu 9). Beebee 10). Van Pran
  15. He's the one FA I'd target for sure. Would be an immediate upgrade and fill a glaring hole that hasn't been adequately spotted since London retired.
  16. I'd see if we can extend Cosmi. He's the one building block on the OL and it would be nice to extend him as a mainstay at RG.
  17. Yeah, according to them, the talent of their defense is severely lacking. No one outside of Reddick is even starter-worthy. LBs are horrific. DB play stinks. Desai was made a scapegoat for the severe talent gap. Patricia has made it much worse.
  18. Was perusing the eagles message board and some of them wanted Ron as the new DC. Are they crazy? Have they watched us in recent weeks?

Ugh, you're right. I'll edit the initial post Was relying on this article: https://www.si.com/nfl/commanders/news/nfl-schedule-washington-commanders-2024-opponents-revealed Well, I think the Chicago game will be a TNF/MNF game. The top two QBs going against each other.
  20. It's a lock. NE cannot pass on a QB. Daniels is going there. It'll be three QBs then MHJ to Zona. LAC could go Nabers, OL, or Bowers. NYG takes Nabers/Bowers. Teen takes either QB4 or OL2. Atlanta probably takes BPA (and trades for Fields or signs Kirk). Chicago takes BPA. NYJ takes best OL on the board.

I'll say this, we lucked out in not playing against many elite QBs. We only play: Elite: 1). Lamar 2). Burrow Really good: 3). Hurts(x2) 4). Dak(x2) Good: 5). Watson (could go to mediocre if he doesn't improve) 6). Kyler Average: 7). Carr 8). Jones (x2) Below Average: 9). Pickett 10). Young 11). Baker Unknown: 12). Minnesota (Does Kirk come back) 13). Tennessee (no idea who their qb will be) 14). Atlanta (ditto)
  22. Nah, Atlanta is either trading for Fields or going hard for Kirk in FA. They can win with competent QB play.
  23. Well, the schedule is set for next year: Home: Dallas NYG Philly Pittsburgh Cleveland Tennessee Carolina Atlanta Chicago (edited to replace Minnesota as that was initially incorrect) Away: Dallas NYG Philly Baltimore Cincy New Orleans Tampa Arizona
