  1. I posted last week that it wouldn't have been the worst thing in the world for us to lose yesterday LOL. Helped us in the draft situation while hurting NYG haha. In all seriousness, I'm not passing on Bowers if we can take him.
  2. Yeah, GC swayed me. He's too talented to slip. After Caleb/Maye go 1-2 (in some order), he's a defensible pick thereafter.
  3. Yeah, you are probably right. Bowers will go high and we won't have a chance at him unless all the QB needy teams (Chicago, NYG, NE, GB, Atlanta, and potentially Arizona) take QBs. I think Atlanta is a very interesting team. They badly need a QB and Arthur Smith is probably fired if they don't make the playoffs. They would sell the farm for Caleb or Maye.
  4. Interesting. Right now, the top 10 order is: 1). Chicago (via Carolina) 2). NYG 3). NE 4). Arizona 5). Chicago 6). GB 7). LAR 8. Ten 9). Atl 10). Wash Obviously Williams/Maye go 1-2 in some order. Harrison will go top 5 (Arizona is probably his floor at 4 right now). I figure NE doesn't take a QB and goes OL with Fashanu/Alt and the other goes to Chicago at 5. GB just took Musgrave last year and they may need a new QB depending on how Love finishes the year. LAR could go QB as well. However, they could take anyone. Tennessee could easily take Bowers. Atlanta won't go skill 4 years in a row LOL. Right now, if the draft were held today, LAR & Ten would be the biggest threats to take Bowers.
  5. He’s kind of my Bijan of this year LOL. Still, I think if we are in a position to draft tackle, we will. The fact that there are so many qb needy teams will mean some good talent will fall to us
  6. A loss next week isn't the worst in the world LOL. The worst thing that can happen is NYG getting either the #1 or #2 pick. They are already at #2 right now. With Kyler back, I think Arizona wins at least one more game. Carolina is that bad, and could lose out which lets Chicago get the the top pick. NE will probably win a game or two. BB might actually "tank" their game against NYG LOL.
  7. Chicago winning last night hurts our 2nd rounder from them, but it probably was for the best as we don't want NYG anywhere near the top two picks. Chicago also owns that pick so they had extra incentive for Carolina to lose. Panthers remaining schedule is: Dallas @ Titans @ Bucs @ Saints Falcons Packers @ Jags Bucs They will be favored to lose the remaining games, but I could see them winning a game or two.
  8. Honestly, I hope NE gets one of the top 2 picks. I want at least one of Caleb & Drake in the AFC if possible. Keep as many of the good QBs out of the NFC as possible.
  9. Yup. Leno is the least of ours worries. He's very competent and signed to a good deal. We'll need a replacement soon since he's getting up there in age, but he's not an issue.
  10. Obviously we need young OL, but if we moved Wylie to LG and drafted best available tackle to play RT, does that improve the line significantly in your opinion?
  11. Our best bet is Chicago (either via their own pick or Carolina's) getting at least one top 2 pick and Arizona getting the other top 2 pick. Both of those teams won't pass up Caleb & Drake. Both of those guys are going top 2 in any particular order. NE should be trying to lose, but BB is stubborn. I figure NYG won't pass on any QB and if they are not in the top 2, they will still take whomever is left.
  12. Basically, we are in a catch-22 situation. Like this Thursday...Rooting against the Bears improves our 2nd rounder, but also gives the Panthers another win thereby improving the Giants chances at the #1 pick. What do we do LOL. I figure Chicago plays all out since another Panthers loss is good for them. Arizona is the real wildcard. Kyler coming back will certainly help them. They have: Atl @ Houston LAR @ Pitt SF @ Chi @ Philly Sea They will be favored to lose every game, but that team plays hard. I could see them beating Chicago or even Atlanta this week.
  13. The only winnable games they have left are against us, home against NE, home against GB, and home against LAR. They'll probably be favored to lose every one of those games. They have a real shot at getting the #1 pick. It would be awful if they did. We need to root for the Giants.
  14. Yup. I don't want Maye or Williams anywhere near NYG. With Murray coming back, Zona could win some games. Carolina should start playing better with Bryce getting more experience. With all the injuries, NYG could be in the driver's lane for the #1 pick.
  15. Disagree. Brissett has always been raved about as a teammate. By all accounts, he's helped Sam a ton. That's worth more than a 6th IMO.
  16. If Sam continues to ball out, I could give a crap about draft position. Exiting this season knowing about your QB is a win enough. We aren't lousy enough for Maye & Williams.
  17. That wasn't intentional one handed. DBs pin one hand to the body as a receiver is attempting to catch the ball.
  18. Yup. I think Rodriguez is the most natural runner we have.
  19. Season on the Brink is an INCREDIBLE book. Very even handed on Knight is.
  20. Because they had to spend it on someone. As I posted before, the new CBA mandates that teams spend 90% of the cap (otherwise the team doesn't reap the luxury tax rewards from tax-paying teams). You think cheapskate Leonsis is missing out on that free money? Before, if teams didn't spend to the threshold, the unspent money went to the players on the team and there was no penalty. Now, they have to spend it. Paying declining salaries (Kuzma & Deni have salaries that decline from the first year of their contracts till the last) is smart. Plus, they are tradeable if need be. Poole was in a similar vein. There are no FAs worth of consequence in the upcoming years. They took a shot at a young scoring guard signed to relatively a reasonable contract. I was against the deal before I understood the new CBA rule. Gambling on Poole is a reasonable bet. He doesn't have a horrendous contract and, hey, maybe in 2030, the GSW have a 1st rounder that conveys.
  21. New CBA requires teams to pay 90% of the Cap. You can't just keep the money and allot the unspent amount to the players on the team (like you used to). They had to spend on someone. Problem is that this team has only attracted one FA of consequence in 50 years (Gilbert). The only way to get high-end talent is to tank when you are not a FA destination. It is going to be a long rebuild that was much needed. Unseld is the perfect tank commander LOL. Only hired because of nepotism. He should have never accepted this job. He was qualified to be an NBA coach, but coming here was a disaster for him because of his dad. Should have stayed in Denver where he was going to get better offers being next to Djoker. Now, he'll never get another shot at being a head coach.
  22. LOL, this team will be 22 wins at best. It is purposely designed to lose. Why do you think we have terrible backup bigs who cannot rebound. We are still very unathlethic. It is going to take a long rebuild that was much needed. We are going to be the worst team in the EAST. Detroit is our only competition.
  23. Respectfully disagree. Coaching staff knew after one day of practice that Brandon wasn't a RT. He would have been a guard regardless if we had Moses or not. He still turned out to be the best pick at that slot. Heck, you can make a legit argument that he was the best first rounder out of anyone that year. The players ahead of him where the top two QBs who busted. Fowler has been a journeyman. Cooper has been a good WR for sure, but not elite. Scherff ended up being a great pick in a pretty poor 1st round class. The best players in that class ended up being Frank Clark (3), Hunter (3), and Diggs (5).
  24. Oh, they are going to be the worst team in the East for sure. Detroit is the only competition on that front. The new FO smartly designed the team to fail. No legit backup center or frankly anyone who can rebound. Gafford can’t rebound at all. He gets eaten up by legit starters. He’s more of a backup type anyways. Still, they’ll be fun to watch simply because of the new players. Bilal already shows defensively. I’m glad he’s starting. Give him as much PT as possible. He’s way too good for the G league. There will be nights where the three ball is falling and they randomly win. Still, it’s a flawed team by design. Obvious rebuilding finally
  25. Scherff was not a dumb pick at all. Go back and look at that draft. Scherff ended up being the best player picked by a mile where we were at and he's still a good player to this day. The Jets traded Williams rather than paying him (that tells you something). Gurley was an elite player, but his injury issues caused him to be out of the league really quickly after extended with the Rams.
