I have been saying this for weeks. He is a very good backup who can win games at 5 mil a year. Also fix the OL with cap space saved because it does not matter who is back there, they are getting destroyed. Put Howell back there and he is going to get killed too. Stop paying these end of the line QB's to come here and collect on their way out of the NFL. Do not pay Carr either, his backup may have played the best game all year today also. With a better oline the team may have made the playoffs.

So true, and to think some want the team and Ron, Dan to trade more draft picks and give Carr 40 mil to replace Wentz after all these that have failed.

It all boils down to beating the browns and the cowboys. First off the 5mil + backup got the job done but. when the 28mil starter could not early. No excuses about the oline was worst then, if you take away 2 blind side hits at the goal line in the Giants games the outcome could have been different with defenders coming in unblocked. Wentz is getting his shot, he is the starter with the big bucks from the get go, period. No what ifs, the backup won some big games to be in this postion. He has the same team as the backup has now and maybe easier matchups. Expect nothing less.

I think the other way he is just a waste of money, picks and was terrible. Has no head for the game, just look at the Philly game 9 sacks at home and his back up beats the same Team on road and snaps unbeaten streak. Just do not see him pulling that off. Now all of sudden he has learned the game plan and from watching his backup? I would give him 3 games as said before. First game you lose your out no matter how well your OL blocks.

Sounds like a lot of waisted money to me and we lose a few good players because of it with nothing more in results. Or we cannot improve some areas of the team because of traded draft picks and salaries. The way I feel is Taylor, Howell, drafted QB or best rated low budget free agent QB. No Wentz unless he wins a playoff game and no Carr period.

And they are not always the top prospect in the draft that make it, take 2 like Shanahan did if you have too. We did get Kirk on a rookie contract for a couple years, when the straight line runner that I did not want because of that got hurt. I also wanted Kirk to stay because of his rookie contract when some wanted him cut because of Robert having him looking over his shoulder. Also was ready for Kirk to leave when he set up his money grab. GB used to draft a QB every year we need to start and hope to get lucky.

Would releasing Carr mean the Raiders would have his guaranteed money added to their cap as dead money? If so why would you release him? If not, count me on the list of Please no Carr , Washington has made mistakes with all these end of the careers QB's over several years and the results are in. They all got paid and the team got nothing. The money could be used elsewhere like OL, LB, players that need to be paid. No more last stop to prove QB's. Our 5mil backup QB who should stay on the team has outperformed our 28 mil ringer that also cost draft picks. Trade nothing and draft or take the best low budget QB you can get, send Wentz packing if he cannot win a playoff game. If he does give him another year to prove.

Byner would be my pick for toughest after Riggins. But Brian has a good start to a short season for him.

One thing is for sure Washington would not have a shot at the playoffs if Wentz had not broke his pinky. Taylor did his job as the backup and needs to stay if he wants. If RB Bijan Robinson is the highest rated player on your draft board do you take him at 20 if you are picking for Wash? Next best in order DE Bresee, TE Mayer, G OCyrus Torrence, highest OT, QB, LB that is there? If me yes, I would think hard about Breese or Torrence as my next choice not going to take QB Or T just because they are next best at postion. I am not seeing Mayer as a difference maker at that pick with the team. Give me a TE who blocks well and can be a decent receiver. We are built at the receiver spot, We run the ball and that makes a back who does run and catch well, another weapon. I would take a chance on building Oline, TE, QB,LB with the rest of picks and free agency. Brian R. has won the starting job why overpay for Gibson later, trade him after pick if possible. I guess What I am saying is I would take impact over need if player is rated higher.

Why did Wentz get sacked 9 times in a game and could not get the ball out early before also losing his job. You mean he is going to do this in real time? The reason why we have a shot at the playoffs is because he was no longer the QB. He earned nothing to this point.

Wentz stats were garbage time you see it all the time with teams protecting the lead and clock he is not a 26 mil dollar QB. We saw what he has done in real time. I have been sweating Oline all year they need to make changes it is the achilles heal of the team. Atleast Rivera referenced it but he did nothing before the season to fix it.

So is Wentz and he has had 3 teams to prove it.

I think Wentz would be another big mistake Rivera and the front office would make if they do. Use the big money else were.
