  1. I could add to that list. Klay Thompson would have looked nice on the wing. Faried who I loved we coulda had at 18 as well. Those 2 guys could have changed this team dramatically. I'm huge Vesely fan because he understands how to play and gives effort especially defensively. But he is already what 21-22 he will never be a legit offensive threat thats a pipedream by alot of us the guy can barely shoot FT's.
  2. That is the route they need to go to many turnovers running and gunning with no structure. Wall should still be allowed to run off of rebounds but not wildly out of control like they do now. I think getting rid of McGee is the first step to improving in the halfcourt. In the playoffs halfcourt offense and defense wins. Look at Thibs in Chicago with Rose thats the exact way Wall needs to be played lots of high screen action. Wall is at his very best in the high screen&roll game useing his quickness and speed to get in the lane. If we aquire a high quality pick&roll heavy coach, Walls game will explode.
  3. Thats already been reported not only that but he is close with Grunfeld. Its a typical Wiz play because they wanna run&gun with Wall. I'd personally rather have a vet coach that will slow the game down which will cut down on turnovers and play to Walls strenght letting him attack off the pick&roll. Preferably a guy with a winning record and emphasizes defense like JVG or Sloan. I don't care about his age if we get D'Antoni its Eddie Jordan part 2 small ball, running and gunning with 0 defense.
  4. Lol yeah i'm defintely old, meant verizon. He has dropped me some good nuggets over the years.
  5. I would take Sully over him but thats because he has been dominant from day 1. I just can't get over Robinson blasting on the scene and being this good but could'nt get burn over the twins who are marginal at best NBA players so far. I believe Sully would have started for Kansas last year over either twin. Don't get me wrong I would'nt be upset if he was the pick just alittle leery. Vesely really is a good glue guy off the bench for right now. He needs to get a jumpshot to play the 3 or bulk up and play the 4. Singleton if he improves I believe Barnes could play the 2 as well but might struggle with really quick guards defensively but that would be a long backcourt. We have some pieces of a good team but we need starters that make a impact. Barnes is a good fit because he does'nt need the ball to be effective playing very well off the ball. I'd love to sign Ryan Anderson to play the 4 or Harden to a RFA offer sheet. I think OKC would work a sign & trade no way they can afford big bucks for him with there roster.
  6. LOL, Booker looked like a Midget guarding Dirk last week. Sully is a good positional defender who understands the game being a coaches son. The thing is people say his post game won't translate but his pick&roll and spotup game defintely will and I think he still gets points in the post. He has been stroking 3's this year as well really expanding on his range from last year. I've heard from a very good source that works at MCI and has dropped good nuggets before that the Wizards have Barnes #2 on there board as of right now.
  7. Lamb can play without him last year UConn don't win it. He defends very well with his long arms and wingspan. He can shoot ball, moves very well without it,defends. I think his game translates much better in the NBA then in a slowed down college game. But we won't draft him because we will pick to high for either guard. MKG has said he was staying in school. Barnes is my favorite if we can't get Davis. His game is perfect with Wall and for a NBA 3. He is another who I think his game projects much better to the NBA. Our pick will be Davis Barnes Sully Thomas OR Drummond and thats our luck EG picks him.
  8. MKG would be my first option after Davis if he had a legit jumper or more of a scorers mentality. Sully with Nene would really open up the floor and Booker would be a super sub. Sully has a very good face up and screen and roll game. Barnes is a very good fit with Wall because of his ability to hit shots and finish on the break but he lacks that scorers mentality as well. I forgot about Thomas I would put him before Lamb and Beal. I'd love to try to pry Evan Turner away from the 76ers he has been balling lately.
  9. x2 not only that but his face up jumper is legit and he has been nailing 3 balls this year. He is a very good screen and roll player who can also score in the post. Sully jumpers and rebounding will make him a very good player year 1. I don't think he will be a dominant all star but he will average about what he does in college especially in the NBA being more wide open and pick&roll. If we don't get #1 I like Barnes, Sully, MKG, Lamb and Beal in that order.
  10. No its the hornets 2nd round pick basically late 1st. Not sure if we still have our 2nd round pick or not but if so should be back to back picks beginning of round 2. You could package those to move into the 1st round.
  11. Maybe he takes all the booing to heart and it lights a fire under his ass this summer in combination with a new coach and atleast makes himself tradeable next year. If he would just play hard he has a very good skillset but his confidence is gone. Knowing EG he will trade our lottery pick to dump Blatche for a decent vet.
  12. bahaha I almost spit out my water. I like the trade Nene is a solid strong positional defender in the post. And it improves our pick & roll offense and defense immensely. The biggest worry and hope is he stays healthy. I know Nuggets fans think we got the better end. I wish we woulda got the clippers 1st round pick.
  13. I was the opposite Steve I have like a 10" vertical lol I could almost touch the rim. I played football and basketball from 8 through HS then wrestled 4 years. I have a nasty jumpshot even now and have good handles but still can't jump. I really enjoy frustrating guys talking trash and not letting them get the ball. I will face guard them and it pisses them off so bad they quit moving turning into a spectator. Now I live thru my son coaching his football, basketball and this year his baseball team.
  14. Its tempting for me Steve. Boguts injury right now requires no surgery and I know he has been injury prone the last 2 seasons. But when healthy he is a very very good 2 way center that can run the pick&roll, shoot elbow jumpers and score outta the post. He also is a very stout post defender who is locked up for 2 more years. Redick is the type of shooter we need off the bench he is a better version of Mason and would look nice spotting up on the break. He might be overpaid but with Wall he can be a useful piece. Turk would get the amensty. And we would have a ton of capspace. I like this trade if we don't plan to offer McGee a long time deal and we can't swap him for a lottery pick.
  15. Watching Beasley in college he was such a monster on the glass. Don't know what happened to him there I figured he would rebound like crazy. I hope Robinson has legit size i've read reports that he was 6-8 in shoes so probably 6-6.5 without.
  16. He is 18 years old. Davis has absurd upside at PF. The guy is'nt asked to shoot jumpers regulary at Kentucky. If you watch his HS videos you will see him beating guys off the dribble,Hitting long jumpers etc. The guy is a freak athletically with a brain and understanding of the game. I can't count how many times he has blocked a shot or stole a pass and went coast to coast.
  17. Calipari said he was gonna make him leave basically because its in his best interest.
  18. The reason why EG should have been fired with Flip. He put the mish mash together.
  19. I agree with it 110% as I said earlier. McGee is never gonna be a cerebal player as much as I wish he could. His athletic gifts are so great that you just hang onto hope. But as I said earlier i'd look to see his value and would move him for the right young 2,3 or 4 that fits with Wall. But I still don't think any team is gonna throw huge money 8 MILLION + his way and he might be back on his RFA 1 year tender like NY. At this point we have Wall and a bunch of role/bench players. Nobody in our starting 5 besides Wall starts on a really good team. ---------- Post added March-2nd-2012 at 03:45 AM ----------
  20. I agree. Thats also why NY has gone to bench with McGee I expect more from McGee if he is getting a big contract and he is gonna be a core guy. I can live with guys getting pushed around or flatout beat. But halfassed effort is unacceptable on any level. If you could transplant Bookers heart and brains into McGee you might have a hall of fame player.
  21. I agree the alot of these guys suck on defense. I also agree Whittman is a worthless x and o coach but I felt the same way about Flip. But the effort JaVale gives on the perimeter playing pick&rolls is unacceptable. And to top it off he has no clue on how to defend it. And yes Steve there is problems boxing out but its because of the poorous pick&roll defense. Nobody is rotating over on the screener so now he is inside of our guy right off the roll going to the basket. It happened to Singleton the other night at the end of the Bucks game that was'nt on him he had to stop the ball. I seen alot of people blaming him. Thats why i've moaned and groaned for a vet pick&roll coach like JVG or Sloan. Because Wall in a pick&roll heavy offense with shooters will be a nightmare. And maybe playing for a defensively sound coach and practicing againest the pick&roll everyday the light switch will go on for some of these guys I'm not a JaVale hater at all but he is 24 now and he played 2 years in college at some point the lightswitch has to cut on if its ever going to. I wish somebody could put up the video of the play that got McGee yanked last night around the 8 min mark in the 4th.
  22. It's not no standard. I'm a straight shooter and speak the truth. I love McGee's athletism, size and I hope the light switch turns on. But there is a reason he is getting benched and its justified. His last play of this game shows you exactly why its absolutely horrible effort and don't have a clue how to defend it. If a guy gets beat but hustled and defended the pick&roll properly I have no problem with it. But game after game McGee is clueless on how to defend the pick&roll and gives lackluster effort. McGee is all flash but no substance.
  23. McGee is the biggest waste of physical talent. The guy has everything athletically but has a 2 cent brain and no heart. I'm not gonna completely give up on him but I would in a heartbeat for a good young starting 2,3 or 4. Can anybody put the video up around the 8 min mark of the 4th quarter of McGee on defense. You can immediately see Randy throw his hands up the same time I did and jerked him outta of the game. The worst part is my 9 year old son just finished his 2nd season of parks and rec basketball looks at me and says that guy did'nt even try, I just chuckled. Seriously I hope somebody can put up the video. Just terrible all around effort and had no clue how to defend it and turned his back on the play to try to go block it. Atleast Seraphin can hold his ground in the post and stops the ball while trying to defend pick&rolls and trys hard.
  24. He is doing that on his own. ---------- Post added February-29th-2012 at 11:37 PM ---------- Honestly he seems to be about the only guy that does a good job with pick&rolls and understands rotations and team defense. The problem is they play him at PF and he can't hold the post. Wall can do it when he wants to but he has a on/off switch on defense.
  25. Whitman told it like it was in the post game presser. We have to find guys who know how to play fundamental basketball on both ends. If you have no clue on how to stop the ball or defend a pick&roll you should'nt play.
