Bozo the kKklown
Comedian, activist, writer and just an icon. Mans would legit just chill at restaurants around DC and wouldn't give off the vibe of his importance. https://www.usatoday.com/story/life/people/2017/08/19/dick-gregory-legendary-comic-and-civil-rights-activist-dies-84/583899001/

Jumbo
RIP Mr. Gregory. You were a luminary, an astute observer, a courageous and passionate advocate for challenging racism in the country and still damn funny. I have long thought being a teenager during the late 60's was a great combination of that particular stage of life and time in history. And all things humor/comedy became important to me well before I hit my teens. But in my early teens Dick Gregory and Lenny Bruce were big deals to me. l also had fun with the reactions of my racist uncle and his like-minded pals when carrying my paperback copy of <image below> his best known work around. If you don't have a copy, I just got some for some young'uns I know for less than $5 each.
PCS
Just a tad younger at the time,I recognize Mr. Gregory from his his more activist times though I do remember, vaguely, some of his standup via listening to them. A strong voice for social equality till the end. RIP sir.

thebluefood
Someone who loved his people so much that, in some ways, it cost him his career. I don't get to sit where I want to sit or hold my head up as high as I can now without folks like Dick Gregory doing the same thing and catching hell for it.
