IMissHeathShuler
Both ESPN.com (Insider "whispers") and Sirius Radio reporting that Williams' decision not to participate in the combine was almost solely predicated on Bucs' assurances that they are going to use the #5 pick in the draft on him. Oldskool
bucs have bigger issues than drafting another WR in the 1st round this year.
ThatGuy
That'd be interesting, considering they took a WR in the 1st round last year. I doubt they'd commit this early. And he was planning to do a pro day work out open to all teams, its not like he's not working out at all.

Drex
IF this is the case, the possibility of Gardner being traded to TB decreases.

KingGibbs
Why are all of the William's bean bag huggers laughing at him going higher than the 'skins pick? Why wouldn't the Bucs take him instead of trading for the great Rod Gardner? Those who say they have more issues than drafting a WR at the five spot should take a look at our team. Center-? LG-? {I like Dockery} Jansen's health-? Two wr's-? Patrick's development-? Until Samuels signs-? Peirce-? Smoot-? DE-? So laugh at all of the other teams if you desire, but remove the B&G colored glasses before doing so.

stainbck
yep i saw that too... and to mak ematters worse, further down the page it said that mike tice and the vikings are in LOVE with williams, making it essentially impossible for him to fall all the way to us... sucks. looks like we may need to move up somehow... red zone
No way in h*ll we trade up. We need to trade down; if anyone is interested in the #9 pick in a weak draft that is.

They are 14 million dollars OVER the cap right now. They are going to have to rebuild that team with the draft and their first priority should be RB. Would you have Michael Pittman as your franchise RB? Especially with Alstott most likely not returning from serious injury.
Hauss
They need a running back desperately. They also need to get under the cap.
godeatgod
I can see Tampa going WR in the first round. Don't forget this is a very deep RB class and is quite thin at WR.
Warhead36
They took Clayton last year in the 1st round and he put up 1000 yards his rookie year. I doubt they go WR again. They need a RB. Michael "Substance Abuse Policy" Pittman ain't going to cut it.
NavyDave
That would be great. We need an offseason of smart moves not flash with a splash heck I'd be happy trading down getting linemen and stealing Matt Jones a rookie WR isnt going to have a major impact but a guy who is 6'6 and runs a sub 4.4 is of interest to me

The Gibber
Tampa really does not have any decent WRs on their team right now except Clayton, so I think that they would potentially draft a receiver and go running back in the second round, since the draft is deep with RBs. I have heard this from a couple of my tampa buddies that really follow the team. Supposedly, Gruden was in love with Mike Williams last year, but obviously could not draft him. This sucks for us, though, as I was really hoping that he would fall.
The Sisko
Actually Mike Williams did run at the combine. Could they have maybe been talking about Cadillac Williams??
