Worst Offseson Trades

Champ for CP is looking more like a bad trade for the Skins, but two other offseason trades were worse, and Parcells and Jerrah got the best of both.

1. Galloway for Meshawn - Galloway will miss several weeks. Had he not get hurt he scores a TD and the Bucs might have beaten the Skins last week. Now the Bucs offense is sputtering. Meshawn is the go to guy for the pokes.

2. Draft pick trade Cowboys and Bills - The Bills take JP Losman with the Cowboys pick. He gets hurt and probably won't be a factor at all this season. The Bills are 0-2 and if they continue to lose close games and have a 4-12 season so they will deliver the Cowboys an early first round pick next year, and Maurice Clarett might have a star on his helmet.

Champ for CP is looking more like a bad trade for the Skins...

Explain, please...

Champ gave up, at the very least, two catches to Jimmy Smith today and dropped a pass when they put him on offense (the exact reason he never went on offence anymore here). Hell, at least CP put some points on the board today and our CB's aren't exactly getting lit up like some people thought they would once Champ departed.

ok, Coles had 9 receptions for 100 yards, Tim Carter had 3 for 63, and Toomer had 6 for 54, Gardner had 3 for 66 ( and dont use an argument that he just got one big reception, Carter got that 38 yarder as well). This shows our defense did pretty well for the most part. Now Portis, he had 2 receptions, one for a td, plus he got more rushing yards than Barber did. Tell me why we are giving up on our team already?

i wish the geniuses that started these dumb "how's that trade looking NOW" threads would shut the hell up and realize that CHAMP WAS NOT GOING TO RE-SIGN WITH THE REDSKINS.

the only apt way to evaluate the trade is to compare it against other places the skins could have traded chump. morons....

Don't worry about us. Feel bad because Jerrah and Tuna passed on the best backs in the draft for an undersized kick return specialist. Feel bad because Jerrah and Tuna didn't bother to sign a conerback in the offseason and you have a 4th stringer starting opposite Newman and a tomato can at one saftey spot. Feel bad because Wiley won't do anything at the defensive end position this year, and he was your biggest signing. Feel bad because no one wants Jerrah to build a new stadium in their backyard at taxpayer expense. Feel REALLY bad that you are one QB injury from being WAY below .500 at the end of the season.

But don't feel bad for us. We'll be fine.

Wow someone using common sense. It's kind of pathetic how everyone thinks we just gave up Champ when he wasn't willing to play here. Wake up people.

Ok.....a little disapointed in the loss today? Understandable. As to "The trade." Champ wanted out of Washington, he wasn't coming back. The trade was Champ for Portis and a 2nd round pick which turned out to be RB Tatum Bell. Not Griffin. Why are we mentioning Griffin's name when talking "The Trade?" Let's all "Give it a rest" or are we going to harp on it every game this season?

I must admit though, I am getting excited at the potential of Buffalo's first rounder.

It only gets tougher for them.

After a bye, they have New England. Still have the Jets twice, Seattle, St. Louis, Pittsburgh, Baltimore and then New England again (to name a few).

As each week passes, it looks more and more like a top 10 pick.

Never happen. Parcells invested a 2nd on Julius Jones and he'll give him at least two years [1st year is learning] before moving on from him. Besides Parcells really likes Rashad Lee who is a free agent RB who they signed last year.

Dallas won't go RB until at least round 5.

Looking at that team I wouldn't be suprised to see Dallas go some combonation of DE, CB, or LB with their 2 first round picks. If the Bills stink it up to high heaven and Dallas is there with a top 5 pick they'll trade down stockpile another 2nd and or 3rd, and at about 8th-10th select either CB's Antrel Rolle or 6'3 FSU CB CB Antonio Cromartie. Put either of those guys opposite Newman and it'd be almost unfair how good they'd be in the secondary.

Then at around 19 Parcells would go for some pressure off the edge and look at Boston College's 6'8 DE Mathia Kiwanuka or LSU's Marcus Spears. Or Dallas go sure up DE in free agency and go for a DT's like Anttaj Hawthorne [Wisconsin] and Rodrique Wright [Texas - though I doubt he drops into the middle of the 1st round] or Parcells could look to get bigger at LB and select Derrick Johnson [Texas]. Having gotten bigger and more physical on his side of the football Parcells can then hit the offense with his stockpiled 2nd and 3rd round picks.

Anyway you look at it Dallas will make a killing off the Buffalo trade. That's why smart GM's never trade 1st round picks unless they're getting a player of unquestioned value, or they know they'll be a SB caliber team and the pick will really be a high 2nd. Even then in today's NFL one never knows how a season will unfold.

The Bills could realistically be looking at a 4/5 win season. If they continue to lose with Bledsoe and are at 1/2 wins when Losman comes off the injury list they just might figure that they should fast forward Losman's development. In that case they'd be lucky to win 3 more games the rest of the year thus giving them a 4/5 win season and Dallas a top 6 pick.

Ok adolescent Dallas fan. So 2 fumbles makes the trade bad!

Cut the jokes, judging any trade after 2 weeks is ridiculous.

How many TD's has Champ scored? How many fumbles does Quentin Griffin have? Whats Tatum Bell's status?

Your a complete moron.

Tatum Bell is hurt.

Champ hasnt scored a single TD.

Griffin has 2 fumbles just like CP.

Griffin has less total yards offense then CP.

Both teams are 1-1.

Hmmm. Next time you want to make a ridiculous homeristic Cowboy fan comment just log onto the Cowboyzone fan board.
