RDSKNfaithfull
With all the Hback TE prospects where does it leave Royal? I like the kid but what do the #s say with Cooley,Rasby,Kowz(ATLANTA guy), Sellars, and Royal?
Burgold
He's got a good shot. He's the best natural receiver amongst the group. He just has to prove he has the endurance and can stay on the field. Besides, we have to have a few mid round draft picks stick for a few years.
NavyDave
He has a very good chance. He hasnt had offseason issues like Ware
TerpSkin
I think you just nailed the list right there with Cooley and Sellers being the H-backs, Rasby and Royal being more along the lines of pure TEs, and Koz providing depth at both spots.
bubba9497
Gibbs likes to keep 4 or 5 TE's on the roster So he has a decent chance

I know Cooley hasn't played a down in the NFL yet, but if you project based on what he did in college (65 catches in a similar role to what he will be asked to do here) it looks like he might be the best natural receiver of the group. Sonny Joe Hog
The coaches may need to decide between Royal, a 5th RB (either Trung or Rock), or an additional OL or DL. I think that he needs a strong preseason to make the team. Kozlowski is very solid and he can also play H-Back. I really liked him in college and I thought he was a great draft pick. Since he's been here he's been hurt a lot, so he needs to stay healthy. Also, he'll make a great catch and then drop an easy one. Gibbs won't tolerate that, so he needs to be consistent, as well. If he's healthy and consistent, I think he'll make the team.
Mr. S
Royal will make the team I feel, he showed good promise last year, just needs to stay healthy. I wonder if Sellars will make the team though.

As for Royal, he definately has some talent, but in the end he could be the odd man out. Having three other TEs/H-Backs plus Sellers does not bode well for him. BayouBrave86
Royal has been hampered by injuries and under Spurrier's system..didn't really get the chance to flourish..he was too busy BLOCKING DEFENSIVE LINEMAN! He was a beast in college and had alot of potential..hopefully the Skins can tap into it this year.

jimster
as said, it depends on how many we keep at other positions. In some of Gibbs' previous teams, we'd have more TE's then receivers, but this year I think we'll have 5 WR's for sure, so a decision has to be made on how many RB's and how many TE's. If Royal could show some HUGE special teams ability, that would be his best shot - I don't know how fast he is.
Cskin
I think the H-Backs are Cooley, Sellars, and Kozlowski. All three are tremendous blockers on the move... a prerequisite for the H-Back position. Rasby and Royal will be more traditional TEs... with Rasby more the blocking specialist and Royal someone who can get out in space and make the tough catch. I'd say Ware and Leonard Stephens are training camp cuts...either potentially on the P-squad.
atloldskin
Royal, if he can come back from his injury, should make this team. The rookie will also make this team. Koz will probably start at TE in running schemes. Rasby and Sellers will be the two to watch IMO.
