SkinInsite
Miami would be stupid if they don't sign 1st & 3rd tender.
StevieInferior
If miami tenders him, we would have to give up a draft pick commensurate with the round they tender him. he will most likely be tendered at the first round level if not that first and third level. So if we sign him and Miami doesn't match we give up picks ala Coles. Not sure if Miami will be able to clear the room to tender him at a high level
OURYEAR#56
He's only had one good year. Do you think that Miami would give him a first round tender anyway. I like Ogy, he's agood fit for the strong side. He plays the run and pass really well.

Great in coverage, good speed, decent tackler. He's young though and probowl calibur, he'd cost way too much and LB is not an immediate need. The Evil Genius
dreams of the 3-4 with Petersen and Lavar playing the OLB's...and Trotter and *insert LB here* playing the inside... *shudder* And yes, Petersen would cost too much.
scottb
Titans are 16 mil over????? With draft picks to also plan for, I can't imagine how they could clear enough room to keep Kearse. I wonder where he will end up?
Skins26
Just to add to this Peterson talk, in case you all didnt know i believe he is from around the DC area. I saw a show with him once and he was talking about when he was little his favorite team was the Redskins. I dont think we need him though. How bout Griffin from the Giants??? Is he any good, he's young. I remember him sacking Danny W. once, but i cant remember if he's any good or not??
jimster
We should go after this guy DT Robaire Smith from Tennesse - consistent but quiet and heard his name alot against the Ravens
Chrisbob74
Miami will protect Adewale Ogunleye. Plus as another poster said, he has only had one good year and it happens to be a contract year. having Jason Taylor and Tim Bowens on the same line helps too. Miami gets under the cap easy when they cut Griese and rework Ricky Williams contract.

Spear
How is Ogunleye a RFA if this is his 4th year in the league?
redblazer00
Ogunleye has had 2 good seasons back to back! 2002: 45 tackles 9.5 sacks 4 stuffs 3 forced fumbles 3 PD's 2003: 64 tackles 15 sacks 7.5 stuffs 3 forced fumbles 5 PD's Seems to be getting better every season! I'm not sure Miami will be able to free up the money to tendor this guy being in ruff salary shape.
Chrisbob74
How is Ogunleye a RFA if this is his 4th year in the league? You can't become a UFA until after your your 5th year unless your team does not make a minimum tender. 4 years and under, if you are tended the minimum about by your current team, it acts as protection and gives them the right to match any offers and receive compansation. Skins26
I dont want Ogunleye, I dont think he's as good as everyone makes him out to be. If we spent big money on him or gave up our first round pick for him it would be stupid. I for one really dont think he's that good. He has the benefit of playing on a great D Line and he doesnt draw the double teams or anything. And he really doesnt apply consistant pressure, he just gets a sack here and there. I think Winstrom or Howard would be a much better pickup. But I think this guy from Tennessee is the kinda guy we're looking for!
yank
Keep the first for Sean Taylor over all of the RFAs ....
Oldskool
I think that theres no way that the Titans can keep Kearse without chopping someone else. Talk has been that Eddie George might be gone, cos he has a approx. 9 mil cap hit next year.
redblazer00
Both Wistrom and Howard are on teams that have loads of cash under cap! St.Louis: 17.6 million under New Orleans: 22.6 million under The chances of getting a player from either of them teams is slim and none!
Cskin
I'll take Griffin (NY) and Robaire Smith (Ten) at DTs and consider the middle of the DL improved. Robaire is just beginning to reach his prime, and I've heard his name alot in recent Titans games I've watched. As for the Titans cap situation, I'm betting they cut George in the offseason because they drafted Chris Brown (Colorado) and have played him in a rotation with George. $9mil cap hit means either a restructure or release, and not many teams will restructure a back who's been punished as much as George. SonnyJ
San Francisco still has cap issues? Good Lord! Who manages their cap? The accountants from Enron? What big contracts have they given out lately? Who's soaking up the cap space on that team?
Lavarleap56
Another interesting tidbit is that Lavar and Julian peterson are good friends.
OURYEAR#56
We are going to be way under the cap this year. This figure doesn't take into account the retirement iof Smith, The fact Champ may be gone, and Stuppier quiting. I can't wait to see what we are going to do in the off season.
