^^^ Legendary CBS news anchor Walter Cronkite named his boat "Assignment."

 

So the network wasn't lying on the days a substitute anchor sat in for him and they said "Walter Cronkite is on assignment."

Sadly, not actually true. Just a joke people at the station would tell.
