s0crates
Props to you Anthony!Yeah good job by Armstrong. Those stats are kind of depressing though.
NoCalMike
Armstrong right now seems like a poor-man's Percy Harvin, because of his lack of breakaway speed. Harvin's stats and notice ability seem to amplify when other WRs around him are doing well. When Sidney Rice was healthy and producing, Harvin looked like he had the makings of a superstar on the other side, but once Rice and Berrian went down with injuries and Harvin had to step into the role as THE MAN, he started to disappear. The thing about Armstrong I guess is that we don't really know yet if he we have seen the maximum we are going to get out of him, or if he will continue to get better. As of NOW, I'd say he looks like he can be a solid starter, but would still need to have a real stud #1 WR running opposite him on the field who can demand a double team, which would give Armstrong very favorable matchups against other team's #2/3 CBs...... time will tell though. Snagletooth
AA is a body catcher. Does he even play special teams? Not sure that he can hold on to a roster spot in the future.

I'm pretty sure he plays special teams, and even if he doesn't, he probably has the same average per punt return as Randle El had.
redskin01fan
Look at the Titans game. They already view him as a threat. They double teamed Armstrong most of the game to take away the long ball.
SkinsCrushCowboys
AA is and will get more attention which can free up some other folks, he has been a huge and totally unexpected positive for us and I hope he continues to run accurate routes and make big catches! I tend to agree with this. I think finally adding a serious #1 WR would really open up Armstrong and Santana to some favorable matchups and greatly improve the overall passing game. One way or another, adding a top WR should be a high priority. AA is a body catcher. Does he even play special teams? Not sure that he can hold on to a roster spot in the future. He does play special teams. I noticed him make a good tackle in the Titans game on a punt.
TD_washingtonredskins
AA is certainly not a body-catcher (see the GB TD catch for an example of his attacking a ball). I think he's ideally suited to be a #3 WR but hope he can replace Moss eventually as a #2 (acknowledging that we need a true #1 eventually). Seabee1973
Armstrong in 2 seasons will be the number 1 reciever on the skins
SirClintonPortis
Armstrong runs a 4.3 or better, if you believe Tim Ryan. I'll tell ya, the status of being undrafted can really skew perceptions of players.
Mania
This was the first time since Gibbs one when the skins had 3 pass catchers having over 800 yards. Armstrong had 860, Cooley was at 850 and Moss was over 1100.

WALL-LE
You're saying Armstrong doesn't have breakaway speed? he doesnt have any acceleration. he catches it and immediatley gets tackled... hes very fast, nothing like percy though.
Mania
Armstrong runs a 4.24 40 and is faster than Banks by 1 / 100 of a second. He has plenty of breakaway speed. They just need to put him in more one on one scenarious. The Giants D have a very good defense.
NoCalMike
Umm guys, just to clarify, two Armstrong threads have been merged. One from about a month and a half ago....so some comments are pretty outdated....LOL.
Skins199021
Would anyone be mad with a WR core of Sidney Rice, Anthony Armstrong, Santana Moss, Terrence Austin, and Brandon Banks for 2011?? Seems good to me assuming reasonable prices for each.
