Dear God, we just scored 100 points! And no one is in here?

I was watching the message board at bulletsforever. They were killing the DJ who is currently playing YMCA. lol

Crawford killed it today.

I was there. Best moment of the night, sometime in the 4th quarter before Nene shot free throws, the crowd just randomly started chanting R-G-3.

I got back home during the third quarter, left to go to the store when we had a 12 point lead with like 7 or 8 to go in the fourth. Looked pretty good. Came back home a little later, turned on CSN and they said the Orlando had won 105 to 97. They trolled me.

The funniest part was that I didn't even question it. It seemed totally plausible that the Magic could have gone on like a 20 to 5 run to close out the final 8 minutes of the game. "Same old Wizards."

Thank God they won.

I had a family christmas party yesterday, and i (hesitantly) put the game on in the background. People were upset that i changed the channel from the VT bowl game to the Wizards, as they probably rightfully should have. That was the best game they played all season. Thank God, because the amount of flak i was taking already for being a wizards fan and changing the channel from a bowl game was immense. Them losing would have just fueled the fire. Was a great game.

Crawford just killed it. Had an amazing game.

I only caught a little of the UCLA game last night. Shabazz went off but I didn't see much of it. The numbers were awesome though. He's pretty appealing.

Right now I probably go:

1.) Shabazz

2a.) Len

2b.) Noel

I'd also like to take a look at Kyle Wiljer later in the draft as a shooting specialist. He's got a quick release and he's tall so that shot comes out high and hard to block. Good shooter but doesn't really bring much else to the table that I have seen. I'm thinking best case is something like a Hedo-type shooting forward without the handles.

Right now Noel is all upside for me. It's probably going to take a monster stretch from him to change my opinion about him and put him in first overall consideration. But I'd still draft him high purely on his upside. A big man that can move like him would be worth it. Drummond proved you can look like absolute **** in college but so long as you're a big with an awesome body, throw it on the back burner in the draft projection.

Shabazz by a mile, then everyone else. The guy has "high scoring" written all over him. If he had the quicks to play SG he'd be a can't miss all star material. At SF he's undersized and saved by his long arms, but compared to Melo, Lebron, and Durant he's undersized at the suddenly massive wing position. As it stands he's big enough and he has all the fundamental skills (handles, shooting, creating, etc).

Someone might grab a big on potential over him, Durant and Jordan couldn't even avoid that, but IMO he looks like the best player so far.

Yeah I agree. He's a pretty good athlete. He'd be a big SG, not in the class of burners like Monta, Wade, or even Beal but quick enough to at least hold his own. He's a better athlete than Harden IMO. Though Harden is more of a forward with handles than SG IMO. I put him in that same kind of tweener position as Harden and Joe Johnson.

Yeah Carmelo and LeBron and Durant would give him problems but you just have to take your medicine there. He's got enough size to match up with the majority of the rest of the league at SF. I'd take him and play small ball.

He's the same size as Jordan and Kobe. 6-6 with a 6-11 wingspan. Maybe a little heavier.

I just know the Cavs will get Shabazz to pair him up with Irving.

Hopefully another wing type player comes on really strong in March. We'll probably end up picking top 3 or 4. Shabazz/Noel/Another Wing later to be named is all I'd really be happy with, at this point. Len, I'd be ok with but I don't want Zeller at all, personally. I wouldn't mind looking to pick up a mid first again if we can get one for cheap. It's a deep draft for centers so if we grab a SF type player with our top 5 pick, maybe a high upside center will be there mid-first round. But of course, it's still very early and a lot can change.

Noel isnt in Drummond's class of athleticism and size. And Drummond has a back to the basket game.

I said it last year, and I will say it again, Drummond's problems were more with the mess that UConn was with coaching and point guard play than anything he did wrong. Jeremy Lamb also.

Drummond has no back to the basket game. He's raw as hell on offense. Physically he's a prototype though and I agre Noel isn't on the same planet.

Shabazz and Kyrie would be a bad pairing, imo. Kyrie needs to distribute the ball more to get the best out of that pairing.

Who could be good is Michael Carter-Williams and Kyrie. It would allow Kyrie to play off the ball a lot more and the Cavs not lose much with regards to back court size.

The problem with Carter-Williams is that Boeheim has a terrible history with churning out star NBA players.

he has an up and under move which we dont even see Dwight use.

Noel has nothing.

Unless Ernie is fired, I'm operating under the assumption Rudy Gobert will be our pick.

No Crawford tonight.

When did Crawford get hurt?

Yeah he's heavier than Jordan and Kobe were at a similar age. Not necessarily good bulk either. Jordan was rocked out probably 210ish maybe 220 at his physical peak late 20s/early 30s but very defined.

Shabazz looks like he's carrying some bad bulk. Has a softer physique, much like Harden/Joe Johnson, though Johnson is in the 240 range IIRC.

Yeah Noel has nothing scoring wise. He's got no dribbles or go to moves and his finishing touch is iffy. His scoring is entirely hustle. But, he has an obviously good IQ and he's a pretty damn good passer--can facilitate from the top of the key.

I know people are leery about high IQ low skill guys after Vesely, but Noel's upside is better. Vesely was never a first or second overall type of prospect like Noel.

I think you're underselling Noel's physical attributes. The guy has a tremendous physical profile. He's not as powerful as Drummond, but Drummond is another type that has gotten fat before and carried some bad weight. Noel has an awesome frame and he's already started filling out some compared to where he was last year. He's already wiry strong and holds position pretty well. He's got big joints, long arms, and broad shoulders and looks like he can carry 240 to 250 with no loss in mobility.

I think he's a more explosive athlete than Drummond was. He's a bouncier athlete than Drummond. He'll give up length and strength to Drummond, but he's quicker. I think his raw skill set is as good as Drummond's. I think his intangibles are also better than Drummond's. Noel is an overachiever who has had success all his life and made an impact at every level of competition.

I'm not as high on Zeller as the draftnik community is, but I wouldn't say I don't want him at all. We could use a scoring big man like Zeller. Having him would make it easier to deal Nene if it came to that. Or if Seraphin doesn't work out, Zeller is probably an upgrade over him long term.

Zeller's upside doesn't blow you away, but you can't ignore the skills he already brings in with him. They will translate to the NBA IMO. He's a better prospect than Brook Lopez and has the potential to really offer a nice scoring option in the front court.

We need to be looking for valuable big men anywhere they can be had IMO. Especially if we're thinking about starting over with flexibility and dealing Nene. We're not in a position to lure good bigs in FA.

---------- Post added December-29th-2012 at 08:47 PM ----------

Ohhh, I see some nice passing inside. Oh, 26 points in a quarter. Oh, with no Crawford? Looks like having some true PGs can make a difference. I know its, early, but this much better then the suckatude we've been witness to lately. Thank God...

They're riding a hot streak right now. Bound to get a hot streak eventually.

We don't have the horses to hang with Chicago though IMO. We're going to have to get them in foul trouble or else they'll go on a run when Nene goes out and put us in recovery mode all night.

Oh, c'mon, man! Bulls are beatable and they're already in foul trouble. I'm tired of losing, man!

As a top 3/4 pick you'd be ok with Zeller? Not me. Now if Wall comes back and we end up in the 5-7 pick range, sure I'd be alright with it at this point.

Noel is also an April 1994 B-Day. He'll be a 19 year old all next season like Beal is this year. He's a true big man. You're talking about a player who is probably six years away from being fully developed. But with that kind of IQ paired with that body and athletic talent, he's got All Star true big upside. That's top three value.

If you're pressing the reset button on this rebuild, you could do it around Beal and Noel as the long term pieces, as young as they are.

Nah, not top three and probably not top four. I'd go with Shabazz, Len, Noel in the top three. Then at four, I would probably take a look at Gobert. Gobert's length is ridiculous, his upside is higher than Zeller's and they are the same age. I think you need to keep upside in mind with this pick since we're not going anywhere any time soon. I'd be hoping for a Valanciunas type out of Gobert.

Plus I'd hope we could draft Gobert and stash him in Europe to let superior coaches in France develop him in the mean time.

Right now I'm waffling between Zeller and Gobert at 4 and 5. I was hoping Poythress would step up and really claim a spot in the top four or five, but doesn't seem like that's going to happen.

Noah is pretty damn good. 5 points, 6 boards, 3 assists in the first half. I can see Nerlens being a quicker Noah with better hops once he matures.

Okafor has been on fire the past two games.
