SWFLSkins
the recent Iran-US threads have been refreshingly bland My advice is try adding some salt or don't eat it.
SWFLSkins
Maybe they were applauding the fact that he was done talking. So they could go and laugh about him over a few drinks. You truly are a visionary. I laughed out loud when picturing people going wa-hoo he's done. It's not like they were rocking out to him or like seriously encouraging him. I just could not help but think about a bunch of differently dressed representatives high fiving each other in the Marriott hospitality suite accross the street and Ahamdinjad being denied entry. Bang
I cannot make any determination based on the limited shot of the crowd who was doing what for which reason. All I can confirm is an applause. The same level of applause that you can hear when the next speaker starts at the end of the video, maybe even slightly louder.I just wanted to show that there was an applause and it was like crickets in the room. Thanks, and you're right. I believe I've come across as possibly sounding as if I thought there literally was the cricket response, and my apologies if that is the case. I assumed that reasonable folks understand that no matter what there won't be dead silence, and that diplomats will always behave like diplomats, even if strained. It's habit their job demands. I would expect everyone gets even a polite clap, if for no other reason than protocol. Like I say, my issue is not that there literally was or wasn't, but the implication being made of what was. Also, my apologies for being snippy. This sort of manipulation bothers me, but I should not allow that to taint what you or others are trying to get across to me. ~Bang

I think both sides are exaggerating. The fact is, he spoke in front of a greatly reduced audience and did receive an applause at the end which was by more than a couple of people. The intent of the applause is difficult to prove either way.

Zguy28
That idea is so great it would destroy our economy! Man, some people are real babies when it comes to criticism (especially the type that no one takes seriously). It has nothing to do with criticism. It has to do with foreign policy. Yeah, the place was half empty to begin with. A couple maybe more delegations appeared to follow the US reps out. And the asshats that stayed applauded the little iranian troll. December90
The UN would not exist if it wasn't for having it on US soil... So where is the downside of getting the UN off US Soil? let them disband. Security vendor Symantec said last week that the majority of Stuxnet incidents are at Iranian IP addresses, and that the sophistication and time taken to craft the worm indicates that it is likely to have come from a state-sponsored source. China
Now why would anybody do thatIran's Mehr news agency reported on Saturday that Stuxnet had infected "the IP addresses of 30,000 industrial computer systems" in the country, although it declined to be more specific about the incident at Bushehr. Security vendor Symantec said last week that the majority of Stuxnet incidents are at Iranian IP addresses, and that the sophistication and time taken to craft the worm indicates that it is likely to have come from a state-sponsored source. Looks like it might be the Israelis: In a Computer Worm, a Possible Biblical Clue Deep inside the computer worm that some specialists suspect is aimed at slowing Iran’s race for a nuclear weapon lies what could be a fleeting reference to the Book of Esther, the Old Testament tale in which the Jews pre-empt a Persian plot to destroy them. That use of the word “Myrtus” — which can be read as an allusion to Esther — to name a file inside the code is one of several murky clues that have emerged as computer experts try to trace the origin and purpose of the rogue Stuxnet program, which seeks out a specific kind of command module for industrial equipment. Not surprisingly, the Israelis are not saying whether Stuxnet has any connection to the secretive cyberwar unit it has built inside Israel’s intelligence service.
