Dude I thought this was a recent story or there was some definite proof. Why would you even entertain this idea? Bad thread to end my night

awww, :( so sorry! want a cookie to make u feel better? it's not me entertaining the idea, it's the case and the league and yea Spade, I hope so too. I wonder if it is as serious as the FO making future plans to replace him during his possible suspension.

That whole Moss thing seemed to just vanish amidst Albert Haynesworth garbage news. Weird. I almost forgot it ever happened to begin with. Who knows if he took roids, supposedly they are used more often than not in the NFL to aid in quick injury recovery times. Makes me wonder if Moss used it with some of his nagging muscle injuries in the past few seasons. Oh well, if it happens it happens, I'm sure that the team has talked to Santana and if they had any real concerns about it they would have had a plan in place for some time now. My guess is that nothing will come of it, at least not during the season.

First of all it wasn't steroids it was HGH. Totally different though it is a PED (Performance Enhancing Drug). Second, as long as the case doesn't get settle there is no chance that Moss gets suspended. Unless Santana Moss is named as something more than a client, nothing is going to happen. Currently the claim is that the Dr. would meet up with athletes across the country and inject them with PED's that he used for treating injuries. The league says that you cannot use PED's at, period. That means injury or not, no PED's to get well. Moss had a hamstring and knee injury during the previous year and he was seeking outside help for that. When a guy seeks outside help, he's most likely doing PED's to heal.

So, Moss is probably guilty. Though he will not have to face any music legally, he will face a 4 game suspension from the leagues policy. That's not going to happen until after the case is over. That could take a long time.

Galea's lawyer, Mark J. Mahoney, had this to say about the case:

"Officials of the NFL and other sports organizations can sleep soundly tonight, because there is nothing he did with these athletes to help them with performance enhancement," Mahoney said Wednesday. "[Galea] strictly provided treatment for injuries. If any athlete got [human growth hormone], it was injected directly into injured tissue, in very small amounts, for purposes of healing."

When asked about the report on Wednesday by a Washington Post reporter, Moss declined to talk about the case:

"I'll talk about football. I don't know about nothing else," Moss said. "I ain't got nothing to do with nothing that ain't about me." [...] "I'm telling you right now, I'm talking about football," Moss said. "You talk about football. Anything else out of that, no."

if you happen to score two of those waffles make yourself a bacon egg and cheese sammich out of them. THAT is delicious.

on Moss, to late. if the nfl was going to suspend him they would have one it or at least said they were considering it. unless some crucial evidence magically appears a suspension at this point would like like the nfl wanted to hinder our season.

I've tried to look up a date for the trial, but it still hasn't been set. This means the trial will probably take place after the season at the earliest and we won't here much about it until the offseason.

The tricky part is that Galea was one of the leading specialists in legal treatments such as blood spinning techniques, so simply being associated with him doesn't necessarily indicate PED use. The identities of those who used HGH are strictly rumors until concrete info comes out during a trial.

Watching all the pre-game shows this past weekend, there was a nugget about Moss specifically, tacked on to the end of a larger story about McNabb and the Skins. I forgot which one it was on but I think it may have been NFL Network. Anyway, the talking heads said that Moss could definitely be suspended this year because of his involvement with Galea. I don't remember the exact discussion points, but I basically walked away from that thinking it was going to happen for sure. Sorry for the vagueness but....

I wonder if they said anything about it while doing any Brady segments? Actually come to think of it, I don't think i've heard anybody bring up the Brady reference since the story initially broke.

Being a member as long as you have been, you should know to have thicker skins around here. Especially these days.

Oh c'mon. Too much crying going on in this thread about the story being brought up, you can't just ignore it and hope it somehow goes away. It's definitely still a story, as you can see from the other information posted here, which helps everyone understand the situation better now, however, I do hope that nothing comes of it, but I just wanted hear the insight from other members. DJD2, I saw that small tidbit as well and that was just this past Sunday, which I can't remember which pre-game show either. Thanks to those who responded with actual information!

I don't think the Galea defense is going to roll over and take a deal at this point. The link I gave you in the other post was one that will continually be updated with the latest results and ongoing reports, so just check back on it from time to time.

The only way he gets suspended this year is if they reach a plea deal and Galea reveals confidential patient information about Moss that would expose him to a law suit. He's not going to do that, nor will he plea as it's not illegal to administer HGH for trauma in Canada. It's also not illegal for a Dr. to administer HGH for trauma in the US, it's just supposed to be for major trauma. A Dr. can administer whatever he wants to his patients. When he is questioned he has to be able to justify his reasons to a panel of his peers in a peer review before there could be or would be any sanctions against the MD. Medicine is not a science, rather it's a constant study....Translated, MD's can try whatever they want. The only thing illegal in the Galea case was transporting controlled substances across the border. Galea wasn't caught doing that. He's not stupid. He hired a chick to do it for him. She is like a secretary or 'personal assistant'...Drug dealers call them 'mules'. She was the mule for the HGH getting into the US across the Canadian border...that's it. For some reason the Canadian Pharmacies have been getting the crack down for selling prescription medicine to US citizens at a discount and the US government has made a strong effort to make sure that we overpay for our prescriptions. The first thing they did was crack down on the mail. Basically everything that comes from Canada goes threw the x-ray and gets sniffed. If customs wants to, they open it. They can open whatever they want. The only reason Galea got in the news was because the assistant got scared by the Feds and threatened her and she spilled her guts. The case got into the media and it's way overblown as usual when a pro athlete is linked in anyway.

Moss isn't going to get suspended this year. He most likely won't get suspended at all because Galea will probably win his case or get probation and sanctioned, not being allowed to return to the US. The secretary walks.
