Great Blues Music Thread

This past year i have started really getting into the Blues. As some of you know i went to Clapton's Guitar Festival in Chicago about a month ago, and that really opened my eyes!

What are some your favorite Blues players, and what are some that are not as well known? Post youtube videos or whatever else you want to.

My favorites are: Buddy Guy, BB King, SRV, Clapton, Lang just to get started...

One that i heard in Chicago that really stood out was: Gary Clark Jr (goes good for us Skins fans huh )

WIllie Dixon rolls on the bass in this tune.

This one is audio only, but is one of the best examples of the purest blues. Muddy, Willie Dixon, and a young Buddy Miles acoustic record from 1963

I have had a blues obsession since I was in my late teens. Beth and I took the kids to the Lloyd's blues festival in Hershey PA to see Tommy Castro, BB, and Buddy Guy, among others. The boy was 7 and our daughter was 3. Got him started down the right path of musical taste, and at 19 it still sticks. The daughter? Not so much.

If you guys are ever in Chicago, while Buddy Guy's Legends is a good place..... You have to go here. http://www.kingstonmines.com/flash/main.html

The place is amazing. It has hosted some of the greatest blues musicians EVER. Two stages so when one band goes on break, you walk around the back into the other stage area where another band is getting ready to go.

BTW Derek Trucks is the man! Saw him tour with Clapton and Robert Cray last time around in Philly

Today is his birthday too! Have a good time, Buddy is awesome to watch live! And for the most part he only plays in small clubs, that is the way he likes it.

I'm real pumped. Didnt know it was his B-day. Should be a good show, haha.

The only two times I've seen him was opening for BB at DAR constitution hall, and I saw him last summer at Wolf Trap. So this will be the smallest place I've seen him.

Maybe I'll take some video and post in this thread.
