Hubbs
Nolan Ryan wins the bidding for the Rangers!!!!! YEAHHH!!!!! Damn. I was hoping Cuban would win and turn them into a circus. Oh, and anyone hear A-Roid talk about his home run after the game? He said he had talked with "the captain" the night before, and had decided to just try to get a base hit. "The captain" being Derek Jeter. They've been on the same team for how many years now? Who the hell talks like that? Does he seriously not refer to him as "Derek," or at least "Jeter"? royallypwned
Damn. I was hoping Cuban would win and turn them into a circus. Cuban wanted to move the team to downtown Dallas. But our current ballpark is only 16 years old. Sure, it may need some renovations like a better big screen. But I love that ballpark. Plus, being in Arlington makes it a central location for both Dallas and Fort Worth fans. And being right next to the Cowboys can't be bad either. rincewind
cheater. His homeruns don't count. He never actually cheated if he took the PEDs before they were banned. If you think he is, then what are your thoughts on Aaron and greenies? Edited August 5, 2010 by rincewind

Still counts as cheating. PEDs are cheating, period. Banned or not. I don't really know much about Hank Aaron and amphetamines, but if that was the equivalent of steroids back then, then he's a cheater, too. It's not whether it was illegal or not. The Atlanta Braves have the best record in the NL. Um...no they don't. Pads are 62-44. Braves are 62-46. Pads are gonna win tonight. 63-44. Best record. there are plenty of cheaters in the hall of fame as well I agree. And they don't deserve it, either.

The Braves announcer on PTV tonite had it wrong. He said a couple times at the end of the game that the win over the Giants tonight gave us the best record in the NL. It didn't even give us the better record 'at the time' that game finished up either. Not sure what they were thinking. They usually are up to snuff with their stats too. I knew I should have double-checked that.

Even if the Padres had lost tonight, we'd still be 62-45, which is better than 62-46. Hahaha dumb announcers. PADRESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

And they aren't dumb announcers, btw. Joe Simpson is pretty good. Surprisingly, though, I think he's the one that erred on the best record thing. Braves are 4-2 vs the Padres. Surprisingly, though, I think he's the one that erred on the best record thing. yeah, I realized that you said that after I wrote it and re-read your post. And regardless of whether the announcers are dumb or not.... they made a dumb error...bc we all know who's #1 in the NL;)
MissU28
Braves are 4-2 vs the Padres. yeah yeah yeah, I know:mad: But the Padres are so great because everyone thought they'd be in last place right now and their entire roster is like the price of Derek Jeter and A-Rod. I LOVE that. Braves were expected to do well (I think, I really don't know). We're scrappy!!
Teller
38-70, ****es. But at least we're closing in on another top draft pick that will be playing somewhere else in the bigs in 5 years. Hopefully another Nate McLouth.
Bubble Screen
And regardless of whether the announcers are dumb or not.... they made a dumb error...bc we all know who's #1 in the NL;) #1 at home? Why, yes, the Braves do have the best record at home in NL. In fact, I think they have the best home record in baseball (I should probably double-check this:pfft:). And we're 4-2 vs you guys head-to-head. I concede you guys have the best overall record 'as of now'. But that doesn't mean any more than those things I mentioned above. One thing we can both agree on is that should our teams make the playoffs, we will have homefield all throughout. You can thank Brian McCann for that, btw. Like you said, no one expected them to even come close to contending for the wildcard, much less have the best record in NL. They're probably the biggest surprise in all of baseball this year. And with their pitching, and the bats they added, they could possibly go deep in playoffs. Btw, San Diego is one of the places I want to visit. And when I do, im definitely gonna hit up a game at Petco. 38-70, ****es. Better than Nats Park. Very different from Camden Yards, but they are tied for my favorite ball park. Too different to pick one.

So are the Royals. The Orioles, etc. It will eventually happen one day. Hell, the Braves were a horrible franchise for nearly all of the 80s. Then they got Avery, Glavine, Smoltz, etc. And the rest is history. At least you never totally gave up on them.
