dahibachi
Most of the QB talk on this board talks mostly about either keeping JC, promoting Colt Brennan or drafting a QB of the future but with it seeming likely Kyle Shanahan will be our OC, it made me think of the fact that Houston got their QB (matt schaub) through a trade. Is there a QB out there that you think the redskins should consider through a possible trade?

zCommander
Matt Moore. Edit: I don't know much about him or whether he is a WCO type of QB but damn he looked really impressive in the two games that I saw.

acuratl1984
Flynn looked decent in pre-season, you wouldn't have to give much up for him imo I would probably grab Rhett Bomar from Giants PS, would like to see what he can do.
Jeff in D.C.
Curtis Painter of the Colts is intriguing for a few reasons. First, Bill Polian thought enough of him to draft him even though Manning is there. Secondly he played in Joe Tiller's offense at Purdue which has produced Kyle Orton & Drew Brees. Of course I'm not an expert, but hopefully Bruce & Shanny will do their homework and evaluate the backups around the league just in case they think one has good potential. BadKarma
Billy Volek maybe, a little old but was pretty good in his day with the Titans before he signed up to ride the pine in SD.

The Full Monty
Sage Rosenfels has already worked with Kyle Shanahan in Houston and he would come in and know the system right away. We'd have to trade with Minny. I vote Sage as the veteran QB if/when we draft a QB in the 1st round.

squatch66
i would love to bring in brian brohm to give him a tryout. he was a good qb in college and seems to have hit a wall in the pros. i think that shanahan could do him some good if shanny ends up here. barefoot
Wasn't Rosenfels here under Spurrier? Marty drafted him I believe. He has one year left on his contract in Minn., They traded a 4th to Houston for him last year and gave him a 2yr deal worth somewhere around 1.5 mil per year. This is his 9th year in the league. With the Favre darma to come this offseason I don't see them letting Rosenfels leave. I do however think he would fit here, again. edit; 9 million dollar extension last year http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3939155
PokerPacker
I think Buffalo is starting him this week if I am not mistaken. they just started him last week. He didn't fair too well, but then again, he's playing for the Bills.
dachozenone
2/27/2009: Signed a three-year, $9 million contract. The deal included a $1.4 million signing bonus. 2009: $2 million, 2010: $2.6 million, 2011: $3 million, 2012: Free Agent http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_contract.aspx?sport=NFL&id=1276
@DCGoldPants
nobody. There is no backup QB worth trading for.
THEREALTOR1
Shaun Hill or Alex Smith from the Niners (depending on which route they decide to go this offseason). Both only have 1 year left on relatively inexpensive contracts, and both are familiar with the WCO style offense.

I liked Brohm too, but I'll say this now I don't think he is a WCO style of QB. He probably needs a system similar to what GIbbs used to run, a Coryell style, with timing patterns. That's my guess. Chicken Fried
NO! We don't need to trade for a backup. We need to get our own guy from the draft or at least play Brennan. We have a bad track record of trading picks for players and things not going as planned.

GoSkins561
Any back up that has a upside is better than wasting our early first round pick, see Alex Smith.
