WEEK 2 Expert Picks: YAHOO! Sports, ESPN, Sunday Countdown,Madden, NBC, FOX, and CBS

Last week the Washington Redskins took the on the defending NFC (B)East Champions and never looked like they had a shot. Heck, the experts didn't give the Skins a shot either voting 8 for 34 against them winning at the Meadowlands. This week they go head-to-head with what has arguably been one of the worst teams in the league (next to the Lions) the past few seasons. What seems like a perfect tonic for the Redskins offensive woes reeks of a trap game.

Last year the Redskins came into Big Jack with on a roll with big heads and dropped an easy one to the lowly Rams. This loss (amongst other easy wins Bengals and 49ers) cost the Redskins a playoff berth. However that was last year and this is—of course—this year.

The Redskins are without Pete Kendall and seem to have learned their lesson from last year's mistake. There is simply no analysis needed here. The Redskins are a better team than the Rams on both sides of the ball. Marc Bulger looks scared in the pocket, Jackson is continuously injured and their porous defense has running lanes Clinton Portis should breeze through.

The experts see it this way to (so far) as nobody has picked the Rams to pick up the W. Many are even picking the Redskins to be their locks of the week. Don't get too ****y about that though. They aren't locks because they are conceived to be that good, the Rams are just that bad.

Wildcard: Steve Spagnuolo, knows the Redskins well after a few years and a Super Bowl season in New York. If the Rams have a snowball's chance it relies on Spagnulo's experience going up against the Redskins offense.

Well, with the way our offense has been playing, I say we eek out a win, 14-13, with a last second FG at the end.

PFT is the only one expecting the Redskins to blow out the Rams. I think they predicted a 31-7 finish. The Madden Simulation was closer to your prediction with a 16-10 finish.

Smack dab in the middle of 14 regular-season losses in 2008, the Rams put it together for a seven-day period, knocking off the Redskins and Cowboys in consecutive games.

This year, the Rams are coming back for more, and the ‘Skins surely remember the experience vividly. Throw in the fact that former Giants defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo is now the head coach of the Rams, and the Redskins will be even more prepared to make up for one of last year’s most embarrassing moments.

Sure, the Redskins looked rough week against the Giants. But D.C. kept it much closer than last year’s season-opener in New York. The ‘Skins followed that 17-point loss in Week 1 by beating the Saints.

Now, the Redskins will exact a little vengeance on the Rams.

And if they don’t, coach Jim Zorn might soon find himself on an extended leave, with pay.

Pick: Redskins 31, Rams 7

1. The Rams beat the Redskins and Cowboys on consecutive Sundays. That's an eight-day stretch.

2. The Giants beat the Redskins 16-7 in Week 1 last year. That's nine points.

Sorry to nitpick, but sloppy writing like that pisses me off.

One to add: Peter King picked us to win 37-12.

I'm almost at the point where if the Skins lose this game it's time to blow the thing up. There is no reason in the world we shouldn't come out of the next 5 games at 5-1 or 4-2. Should be 5-1. If we can't beat the freaking Rams in the home opener this season has taken a horrible turn already. Wouldn't be over as 4-2 would still be very possible but man it's getting close to panic time.

Once again, there is NO such thing as a trap game. MYTH.

A trap implies that a good team is going to go into a game against a bad team, overlook them and lose. A. We are not a good team. B. A good team almost never loses against teams as bad as the Rams(its like winning the lottery).

I would be so damn happy if this happens. We haven't scored 30+ points since Detroit in 07. Granted, you usually need a special teams or defensive score or almost-score to score near 40 points, but that just means the team is firing on all cylinders.

I remember watching that Detroit game on a computer at the Apple Store while I was suppose to be helping customers.

I disagree wholeheartedly.. A) The Redskins are a good team and will win 10+ games this year.

B) There very few 'bad' teams. The Rams are in that group, but there is still NFL talent on that team.

That being said, I'm very confident the skins win in the neighborhood of 24-10 (Im thinking 4 scores to 2)

This is the kind of game Zorn better get his **** together for. The players are going to want to dominate a team they see losing by 20+ every week after losing last week because of a couple mistakes followed by ***** playcalling.

We lose a couple of these games and out comes Portis or someone talking to the media.

I don't think Clinton Portis would be saying anything that anybody else wouldn't be thinking. He tends to wear his hear on his sleeve and say what is on his mind. There are good and band things about being that type of person, especially in a team atmosphere.
