Soup
that's just cold blooded of the pats, trading seymour to the raiders. The Pats are heartless. But, they just stole a first round pick from a team that will probably end up with a top ten pick, great job patriots. The raiders make vinny look like a genius
SirClintonPortis
Oakland proving itself to be the best 'feeder' franchise for the Patties ever. Thusly, Al Davis is still a vital contributer to football, but not as a contributer to his own franchise. ))))
Redskins:Victory_or_Death
Is he fast? Maybe the Raiders plan on converting him to a speedy wide receiver. :whoknows:
braindx
Wow.... Al Davis . I feel bad for Raider fans.
DeMarco Murray 29
Sad part is they gave up a 1st rounder for Seymour who turns 30 next month.
RunClintonRun26
Man . . . Like I said before in the few other Raiders threads over the years, whenever I think that we could be the worst run FO, I think of that team out there in Oakland. What a HORRIBLE trade. In every way. Jason Campbell 17 #1 fan
Wow... thats all I can say... Look at the Raiders fans reactions: http://www.raiderfans.net/forum/oakland-raiders-forum-message-board/154638-richard-seymour-being-traded-raiders-omg-merge-2.html I really cannot believe that 90% of them are loving the move and are thinking that Seymour is the missing piece on the defense.. @DCGoldPants
Insane that people still give them high draft picks. Make our front office look like poo.

LOL, just saw this on there.. guy is probably right: It's sad, but I don't have confidence that that first round pick would go towards a player worth drafting. At least using it on Seymour we've addressed a need! Followed up by: And, sadly, that's an excellent point. With this, at least we know the Raiders are going to get at least some production - if only for a few years - at a position of need. Can't say that with a draft pick. TheDoyler23
Wow. That's what you call a gamble.
HeHateMe
At least its not a 2010 first rounder, which is pretty much guaranteed a top 10 pick.
bulldog
Gonna be the first pick in the draft.
stickyshooZ
Followed up by: You could say you won't get any worth out of a draft pick if your FO (or in this case, the owner) doesn't know how to draft. So I guess in this case, he's somewhat right. New England continues to exploit Al Davis for the idiot that he is.
Redskins:Victory_or_Death
Wow. That's what you call bending someone over and not even giving them the goddamn courtesy of a reacharound. Fixed. That's not a gamble. No way that defense (let alone the whole team) is one player away from Championship.
SilkyDiamonds
Im beginning to believe that Belicheck and the pats have incriminating photos of EVERY owner/GM in the league. WOW!!
AngloSackSon
I applaud the Patriots for their ability to sever ties with great players, but this is a suspect move for them. Sure, they will end up with a high pick in two years, but where are they gonna get supplemental production from? Losing a HOF caliber DE when you've set yourself up for a serious title run in '09 seems sketchy to me. There must have been some issues with Seymour and the Pats FO. I am guessing with one year left on his contract, he was getting ready to demand some heavy scratch, and New England was balking at the idea..:2cents: Edit to say: Derrick Burgess is NOT an adequate replacement. ST is my boy
The is a total FLEECING!!!!!!!!!!! I am in total shock, and thats saying something when it comes to the Raiders. My goodness.....the Pats are cold blooded.......go after the weakest ownership in the NFL. Al wont even remember he made this trade tomorrow. Duckus
I honestly don't think it is that bad of a trade. I think clearly the Pats got the better end of the trade, but I don't think it is as bad as many on here are claiming. But that is just my opinion, I have a very high view of Seymour. Edit - never mind. 1 year left on the contract makes this a bad trade. I thought he had 2-3 more years. Bad bad move.
1972FAN
Another stupid move by the Raiders, New England is laughing their A's off
ST is my boy
How can you not think this trade is awful? Seymour has 1 year left on his contract.....I doubt he wants to resign with the Raiders. So the Raiders could be getting Richards services for ONE SEASON........for a 1st rounder. WTF
Snagletooth
Davis will "prove" he is not in financial trouble by extending Seymour to the tune of $55million guaranteed.
