Toe Jam
http://blog.washingtonpost.com/redskinsinsider/ Apparently, the second time around was good enough for running back Marcus Mason. After a strong preseason performance in 2008 and again this preseason, Mason, who attended Georgetown Prep, has made the opening 53-man roster, according to a league source with knowledge of the situation. click link for more

redskins fan for life
I would have preferred AA or DD. Oh well, good for Mason for fulfilling his dream at getting on an NFL roster. Now get out there and gain 5 yards a carry

jflow78
Toe Jam, I just want to know how you found out before Jason Reid posted it. I checked almost every site once you said he was on the roster and didn't see anything until the Insider had it. You my friend, are a magician! No Excuses
:applause::applause::applause: Only way to allow him to really improve on his talents is to actually keep him with the team and let him learn. Prediction: he takes over Betts role by next year.
Toe Jam
When will they officially announce the 53 man roster? Isn't it due by now? Cuts were due at 4. Up to the Redskins on when it gets released to the press.
jflow78
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!I wanted Alridge (sp?) It's still possible he might be included, but we'll see. After all we have another extra spot on the O to fill (no 3rd QB). Although 6 RBs might be the most ridiculous thing ever. Then again, I don't see Rock as a RB. vainglory
alridge cant hold onto the ball and so it doesnt matter how fast he is, he's a huge liability and deserves to be cut
mi6
Time to let Betts go ... He is holding onto a precious roster spot ... and really doesn't do much for us. Would prefer having Anthony Alridge as well.

Even if one spot was for a guy I wanted to keep. I'd much rather keep Dixon at DT or that UDFA guy at LB over another RB.

Would prefer having Anthony Alridge as well. I'll note that Zorn and co have lied to the fans before, but he has pretty clearly indicated that Betts was going to have a more involved role on the roster this year. That doesn't quite seem like a player playing for a roster spot.
vainglory
betts wont be cut this year but i wouldnt mind seeing mason be the 2nd string rb...mason has a nose for gaining yardage and finding the endzone....betts falls down when a strong gust blows towards him.
