AdmiralWaugh
$20 sounds like a lot until you look at the prizes they're offering: season tickets for next 20 years; suites for games; travel with team......oh yeah - $1 million several times over. I can justify $20, especially with the odds nearly 3-1!!!

HTTRedskins96
You know I was thinking about something earlier. Is it just me or is it kinda weird they are giving season tickets away via lottery when some fans have been on the waiting list 10+ years and havent gotten tickets yet? Like I said its a cool promotion but I thought that was kinda strange in hindsight.

RememberOsaka
I got a chuckle out of this line on Redskins.com about the new Redskins Mania scratch off game... "The chances of winning a prize through the Redskins Mania scratch ticket are in no way related to the team’s performance on the field." Really?
EddieF
The beginning of these scratcher promotions there are always more winners than later on. People who sell them have told me that. I bought $100 worth, at two different stores. For five tickets, I won $20, $25 and $50, almost winning my money back, and have two shots at the 'second chance' Redskins prizes! They do the same thing with casinos on cruises. You win early so you go back and spend all your winnings during the remainder of the cruise. MarkB452
They do the same thing with casinos on cruises. You win early so you go back and spend all your winnings during the remainder of the cruise. >> That makes no sense that people win more at the casino early in the cruise. The only way that can happen is if people are playing more (and also losing more). If some people lose their money and stop playing then the amount that the collective pool of people wager (and winnings and losses) will also go down. The odds at the games of chance (craps, roulette, etc) don't change. My opinion is that when a new lottery game is introduced, a lot of tickets are initially sold and there will be a lot of winners. In time, interest wanes and so do sales and hence the number of winners. The Redskins record is not helping the game either. Does 20 yrs of season tickets sound like a great prize with Danny and Vinny at the helm instead of Gibbs, Cooke, and Beathard? BTW, as of early Dec, there were no claimed winners for the 3 $1 million prizes for the Redskins scratch off. It is also interesting to note that about 25% of the smaller prizes have been claimed so far. This makes me think that they have only sold about 25% of the tickets so far. I bought my first (and last) $20 Redskins scratcher last week. Lost and entered the 2nd chance drawing and have not heard anything, so assuming lost that too. This page shows the total number of prizes for each category and how many have been claimed to date: http://www.valottery.com/scratchers/scratcher_detail.asp?GameID=1144&loc=6&subloc=
