Some scenes take a tremendous emotional toll on an actor because to get it right means treating the scene like you're on the "verge of curing cancer and your data was just deleted." Serious acting isn't about flipping a switch and all of a sudden you're "in the role". You can work yourself into an emotional state to prepare for the scene - giving it your all - only to have it go all for naught because some idiot is taking down lights or someone else forgets their lines. The scene itself can be emotionally draining and the last thing you need is to have to do it all over again because of some idiot. Comedy is one thing, serious drama is another. 1. You're correct for the most part. 2. And you know all this because...? 3. BTW- The DP was hired because he's also pretty darn good at what HE does, which is to achieve the entire look of the film. Seriously, you people think acting is such an easy thing. If it were, everyone would be getting paid millions to do it. There are people who are getting paid millions to do it that SUCK at it.
