The secondary actually did the best they could, which is actually a shame considering that we still can't get pressure on the QB. It makes my stomach ill just thinking about it. He leaves it out on the field and you can't help but respect that. Actually the entire secondary deserves a game ball. buenosdiaz Posted November 17, 2008 Share Posted November 17, 2008 he whiffed on some tackles, I cant remember when specifically but somebody was by the sideline...the cowboys were going left to right on the tv and it was 3rd down...he shoulda just contained the defender but instead ran right by him giving up the first edit: that sounded really negative, I love the emotion smoot plays with and am glad he is on the team, but sometimes he gives up big plays he got bailed out on one play too where it got called back and he gave up a first Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Not saying he doesn't deserve it. Clos played like a beast, his hit caused that interception. TO played like a little girl the entire game against him. Either way, kudos to smoot. TO's big catch leading up to the first Dallas TD was due to Rogers' usual 10-yard cushion. Not sure why on film the D-coord. doesn't fix that. Yes he made a great tackle on that one play, but after that it was all down hill. I was at the game and every time the ball was thrown in his direction it was a catch except one drop I think. cyfar Posted November 17, 2008 Share Posted November 17, 2008 Smoot and the D came out rather beastly and got a few huge picks for us and made some nice plays. That dude was flying around and literally throwing his entire body into tackles. It looked like he whiffed on a few but he made some great plays in the early going. As the game went on they got tired, the O made adjustments to our scheme and they were able to have some success when it really mattered. Same story for the past two games. I was a bit angry in the way he played Roy on that one 3rd down, but Smoot does go all out on the field. The guy is nothing but sheer heart and determination in a 180lb frame. Imagine how good they could be with a Dline that could actually collapse the pocket. We would see more turnovers. Maybe our Defense could win us a few games, because our offense dam sure wont.
