praise_gibbs Posted May 20, 2008 Share Posted May 20, 2008 While I agree that the Redskins are the equivalent of the New York Yankees in football, the pay scales don't tip as far in the 'Skins favor compared to the rest of the NFL as they do for the Yankees compared to the MLB.But, the point remains that its a valid point that 'Skins fans shouldn't throw stones at the Yanks for their methods. Because of the salary cap. If no cap.. it is almost a guarantee (maybe not so much now but, definitely in the past years) the Skins would be a near mirror of the Yankees. Before the sox had the breakthrough against the yanks when ever there was clutch moment they would show the yankees manager calm as can be, and then the redsox manager obvisoulsy nervous, and Torre would always end up on top. The only reason they yanks are struggling is the boss wanted to go with veteran pitchers for too long. Boston knew this and why they got rid of all of their older pitchers. Put it this way when he left and Arod resigned I was cheering for both :laugh: :laugh: That is why Boston is now the best team in the East. And here I thought it was a combination of both the veteran pitchers AND the young guns (on a staff made up of about 50/50) that were struggling. And of course, the offense is struggling too.
