HogNose
Something about the second guy from the right reminds me of the Tin Man in the Wizard of Oz, Ray Bolger. Has to be the beak, I mean nose. He was the Scarecrow..but yeah kind of looks like him.
HogNose
BTW, I'm still trying to solve the mystery...I am just too damn curious now. The guy on the end does look Arthur Lake but then I'm not sure. Also could the woman be Dorsey's wife? Jane Dorsey. I think it looks like Tommy Dorsey (as you say) but he has his glasses off. Here is a pic of Jane Dorsey: http://cgi.ebay.com/Photo-TOMMY-DORSEY-Portrait-with-Wife_W0QQitemZ280216531404QQihZ018QQcategoryZ14892QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting

I've never seen a photo of Tommy with his hair that long either. :2cents:
Dan T.
Zguy, if you really want to pursue the quest, my parents used to get Reminisce Magazine - my mom went to high school with the publisher. . . "The magazine that brings back the good times" focuses on the 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s. They publish vintage photographs that readers submit. You could send a copy of your photo in and ask the readers to help. That would be a wider audience of folks who lived during that time. . . Here's the home page for Reminisce: http://www.reminisce.com
SKINS@THEGOALLINE
The Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra also has a website and encourages fans to send photos of the band. Perhaps you could send them the photo and ask for help with identifying the others. It's worth a a shot. http://www.jimmydorseyorchestra.com/articles.htm

Mad Mike
Ewww.... Bella is drinking Papst. :puke:  That is an awesome picture though. The guy on the far right looks like he is kind of awed to be sitting there. He may not be someone famous at all. I would do a search for Hollywood historians and maybe contact one of them. Not only would you have a better chance of finding out who those people are, you may be filling in a little bit of history.
