Dictator
Good. Hopefully other players in the league will get the message.
BigMike619
Ya know, its a damn shame. I wish him luck but he has to grow up and mature. I feel bad for Marvin Lewis though. He seems like a classy guy who just has a bunch of idiots around him. At least it seems like the rest of the team is finally learning their lesson. Funny thing though...when he was with the ravens, they had a good amount of players with legal troubles as well...

OWUeagleMD
Funny thing though...when he was with the ravens, they had a good amount of players with legal troubles as well... I hear this a lot. Maybe I'm misremembering (my new favorite word, thanks Hillary), but I don't recall a lot of character questions on that team. There was Ray Lewis. Besides that, the only name I'm coming up with is Bam Morris and I'm pretty sure he preceded Marvin Lewis' tenure. Maybe Cornell Brown had issues too? OWUeagleMD
Was jamal Lewis a Raven when he was there? Ah, yes. Indeed he was. J. Lewis' criminal behavior didn't leak until well after M. Lewis left the team, but the incident had occured while he was still in college, I believe.

CG
The Bengals need a serious change in philosophy, I think you've got to start at the top and get M. Lewis out of there. He's supposed to be a defensive coach and their D is ALWAYS bad anyway. I'm not saying that Lewis was responsible for these players actions, but you've gotta have someone step in with more of a commanding presence and take charge. Or does anyone think that the Bengals have simply had 'bad luck' in the behavior of their players?
AKM311
I think the GM is the issue. I do not know if Marvin has final say, so if he does, that should be stripped. But this is a player acquisition thing, not just a coaches thing. Marvin is a players coach, but you need to have character to get them going. twenty-eight
 more bad news for the bengals per pft MORE TROUBLE FOR BENGALS Posted by Mike Florio on April 3, 2008, 3:11 p.m. In addition to the Monday altercation (allegedly) that got receiver Chris Henry cuffed by the cops and then cut by the Bengals, there’s another incident that could land Henry and two guys still employed by the team in hot water. According to WLWT-TV, Henry and running back Chris Perry and defensive tackle Domata Peko were at a club called “BANG” in Cincinnati, where they allegedly caused an early-morning ruckus last Sunday. The club issued the following statement on Thursday: “On March 30 around 1 a.m., there were incidents involving members of the Cincinnati Bengals Football team at BANG Nightclub. Chris Henry, Chris Perry and Domata Peko were escorted out by police at the close of the club. Charges have not been filed, pending the settlement of punitive damages.” A league source tells us that the players have refused to pay anything to “BANG,” and that charges will indeed be pursued. That said, we’re troubled by the appearance that the folks at “BANG” apparently tried to squeeze some money out of Henry and company by holding over their heads the possibility of filing charges. It’s not much different than what those guys in Little Rock tried to pull several weeks ago with Darren McFadden. The far better approach for the victim of an alleged crime is to get the cops involved before trying to squeeze any money out of the alleged perps. Regardless, Perry and Peko could be the next members of the team that wears tiger stripes to be sporting prison stripes in due time.

That organization needs to be gutted and started over again. They do have a ****load of draft picks so we'll see. I'm actually surprised to see that Carson Palmer is willing to stick around through all of that crap. Hang on, I'll be starting a 'Lets Trade for Carson' thread in 3.. 2.. 1.. I'm sure he has already called Chris Henry's agent. He would fit right in down in Dallas. Michael Irvin can show him and Packman the best places to go after games.
